If you want a holiday in the Gulf try Oman, a lot more hotels than when I lived there in the 80s but it’s still supposed to be pretty beautiful. Amazing snorkeling and diving. Still has human rights issues but definitely less so than neighboring states.
Danny79Free Member#itsasin was trending last night including this thread that’s a powerful eye-opener.

Or fried green chilies.Danny79Free MemberPlenty of great west coast IPAs mentioned already surprised no one’s suggested Brewdog Vs Cloudwater little dangerous as it drinks like it’s in the 5% range when it’s 6.8% think it’s £2.50 in Sainsbury’s at the moment.
Danny79Free MemberTough one
My brother is bipolar and he’s spent years under section (usually 2 to 3 months a time) I love him and would do anything to help him and often do. But there are times when I’ve wondered if I could cope with him if we weren’t family if I’d turn my back on him. He’s had ups and downs relationship wise longest term relationship broke down a few years back though honestly her mental health was probably as much of an issue as his. He’s one of the best people I know and has a massive friend group as testament to that.
My last relationship lasted 3 years we both had faults and I loved her deeply, never been so happy but she had paranoia that would kick in when ever she got down. I’d face a stream of accusations denials were futile and it was painful. She also had an avoidant attachment type so sometimes she’d crave space and go radio silent for days until I’d reach the point where I was close to cracking then she’d call or message back. We broke up twice both times on her call first time we had 2 months apart while she decided if she wanted to be with me broke up with me when I pushed for an answer but then changed her mind hours later I guess after finally thinking about it as she spent 2 months not thinking about it.
Second and final time came after longer than usual silence and honestly I was exhausted with constantly reminding myself she loved me that the paranoia wasn’t her that she would come back from silence each time. I’d never felt so close to anyone I could be myself with her completely she would do the nicest most thoughtful things for me we’d discussed starting a family. I always thought that if I could just stay strong keep loving her it could heal the paranoia. Took me a year to finally move past the hurt trying to figure out if I had handled my own problems could we have worked like I said faults on both sides. But here’s the thing with mental health issues that took me so long to understand, you can support someone but you can’t fix them that comes from them. A support network helps them achieve it but you personally can’t will it into being. Years back when my brother would be manic I’d try to argue him into accepting he was ill and needed meds I thought if I could show him the holes in his logic he’d stop and take his meds. Now I know that if he or friends and family don’t catch the signs early best thing to do is be there for him and walk him through sectioning process if there’s no way he can get back down without that help. That doesn’t happen often these days thankfully he’s gotten so much better at management. In the first year with my ex after a very painful conversation with her she had an assessment and accepted she might be paranoid though from my perspective at least she didn’t ever really try and address or accept it, so the thoughts she had chipped away at how she felt about me until there wasn’t enough left for her.
Would I take back those 3 years to save myself the heartache no. If she got back in touch would I want to try again I hope not. Maybe not that helpful advice wise though think about having a chat with a counselor yourself maybe assess your outlook on relationships you mention being through loads with others pretty lightly but honestly while relationships need work to work it shouldn’t just be about work. Plus if you do stay in it for the long term it will help you.
Danny79Free MemberWhy would you cut a sandwich? Do you work for British Rail? Are you trying to convince me you’ve been more generous with the filling than you have?
Danny79Free MemberCountZero while I’m not overly concerned about the casting I wouldn’t dismiss the whitewashing argument so completely, they refer to her simply as Major in film.
My concern is more that based on the trailer the central themes around sentience and a right to life appear to be shifted more towards the Major’s own creation. It’s also based around disappoint in other remakes where Hollywood has felt the need to apply it’s own moral balance to a story see Infernal Affairs vs The Departed ending.
I’m probably overly sensitive about the film though after all the questions it raised were the final nail in the coffin for my belief in a god a fairly life changing event for me.
Danny79Free MemberThe Expanse is so good putting off books for a while as I don’t want to spoil tv series.
Akira like Ming says with subtitles.
Ghost in the Shell watch it now before Hollywood waters it down.
Ghost in the Shell Innocence.Danny79Free MemberThis site is pretty useful https://haveibeenpwned.com/ will tell you if any of your accounts you have been hacked if the data has been published.
Danny79Free Member13 miles each way a little hilly, never on a Friday though folk seem to be extra keen to get to the pub at the end of the day.
Danny79Free MemberAlso felt like someone wrote a taut thriller with a shark then studio exec said “I like it but it needs more explosions…”
Edit said studio exec would also explain in explicable death of shark 😆
Danny79Free MemberI too had the misfortune, last minute decision to go to cinema prompted by early return of drunk flatmates. We both like surfing missus insisted we turn off trailer before shark.
Film was dumb as rocks. So much wrong with that film.
*spoilers
Only 1 shark attracted to whale carcass and that shark ignores rich source of nutrition to chase after low value prey. Then starts eating metal etc felt like a propaganda film funded by the shark finning industry. 😆Danny79Free MemberBBC 1 or Channel 4 news seem to be covering it quite well. First the pig fiddler was lead down a blind ally by the loud mouthed prat with the purple and yellow coat of arms. He got ambushed there by his good mates the fat lad with yellow hair and beady looking one. Just when it looked like the fat lad would claim the iron karzi the beady looking one stabbed him in the back. He’s now squaring up to a cold looking crone who stood by pig fiddler. Meanwhile the loud mouthed prat is crowing about how clever he is, surely about to get his comeuppance?
Danny79Free MemberJeff Stewart aka P.C. Reg Hollis from the Bill was down the Joiners for Yak gig last night, top bloke.
Danny79Free MemberThe Computers great band seen them 4 or 5 times now in past few years always great live.
As far as I know they’re not big, hard working though so maybe they’ll make it bigger.
Danny79Free MemberLike a swing bike then?
While they’re both changing the frame unless I’m wrong they appear to be doing it in a different way.
Swing bike looks like it has two vertical axis offering 180ish degrees of movement each the Trocadreo appears to have a single horizontal axis offering 90ish degrees of movement.

Not tried it yet uncle works for them says if you can use access you’ll find it easy.
Danny79Free MemberBest gig I’ve been to so far this year would be Black Honey
Looking forwards to seeing Yak and Spring King soon also planning on catching King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard this year.
Danny79Free MemberIf he gets nomination doubt he’ll get presidency because of his unfavourable rating currently 63% (highest of all candidates) Hillary is at 54% not matter how much people hate Hillary they hate him more Bernie is 42%.
Would be interesting to see if his nomination splits the party there are plenty of republicans stating they’d vote for democrat candidate or stay home.

Danny79Free MemberFlatmate goes through a roll a day on the weekend frequent visits based on the noise less than solid should really lay off the cider.
Danny79Free MemberGot Yak and Coeur de Pirate coming up as well as Saturday at Common People in Southampton.
Saw Black Honey last night at the Joiners amazing liveDanny79Free MemberIf you’re going from long to shaved I’d recommend a transitional phase
Had one for a couple of weeks after getting bored of long hair fun but a lot of effort to get it up, though the missus might help fnar.
*not a pic of me
Danny79Free MemberLove them or hate them but Brewdog recently released recipes for all their beers (215 of them) and a how to guide that’s worth a look.
http://www.brewdog.com/diydogDanny79Free MemberBabymetal blazed the J pop girls do metal trail anything else is just derivative 😀
Danny79Free MemberI’ve enjoyed it but it does feel a bit elves do hollyoaks at times.
Another new series worth checking out that’s grittier but is science fiction rather than fantasy is the Expanse.
Danny79Free MemberNot done repairs myself but the fella who does in the department uses a magnifying glass on a mount to get a closer look at what he’s doing. Probably a good shout.
Danny79Free MemberAh but Apple, Google and Facebook aren’t just hosting websites they’re selling ad-space and tech products if you have no commercial presence in a country then I’d agree you shouldn’t be bound by their laws in respect to their citizens.
If you don’t like what a government does then don’t provide goods and services in their country, paying tax and doing business there is propping them up.
If it was the case that IPhones were in China on black market only I’d agree but they’re not they have a massive market presence. I’m unaware if Apple does business in North Korea I suspect not in which case I wouldn’t expect them to comply with the request.
I’d use the same argument with regard to tax laws that large corporations do their best to work around if you want to be some where follow the laws. You can’t go round cherry picking just because you’re a global corporation if you’re above the law for something in one country why not all things for all countries?
Danny79Free MemberI think the question of doing it for one country and not another is kind of moot if you’re happy to make and sell your product in a country you should be happy to comply to that countries laws regardless of any ethical qualms you have with that countries government or legal system. Doing business there is tacit acceptance and approval the opposite stance is grossly hypocritical after all Apple and other tech companies for that matter have made use of the stable cheap labour these governments have provided.
Danny79Free MemberAlso, the judge has said the custom firmware can remain on Apple property, so it is entirely possible for Apple to keep this weakened software out of g-men’s hands
From the Reg article zokes the FBI don’t even get their hands on the crack necessarily just the phone data
Danny79Free MemberThe Register breaks it down quite well http://www.theregister.co.uk/2016/02/17/apple_iphone_5c/
The request is very specific tied to a single phone the firmware update would be tied to it via serial number and the FBI wouldn’t be able to reuse as they can’t cryptographically sign the firmware.
Personally Apple stand feels more like it’s a marketing moment. They could have quietly tried and failed deliberately or not and the public would be non the wiser.
Danny79Free MemberLoving this Panthers dominant! Luke and Cam have been monsters the picks and TDs http://screengrabber.deadspin.com/superman-una-vez-mas-1754875040
Didn’t expect this thought Arizona would pick holes in the secondary and we’d have a shoot out.
Davis injured arm in a caste hope he’s back for Superbowl he deserves it after after coming back from 3 ACL injuries.
