It’s tomorrow but that still counts as this week right?

Going to Crystal Maze (the game show thing), heard it’s supposed to be good.

Pretty shocking at the min, on several one-a-day’s at the minute. Eye drops help with the eyes.

Might have to make my annual trip to the docs and get some roids.

    45. Ebikes aren’t that fast on the flats or even on some DH sections. Their is an element of engine breaking going on once you pass the limit of 15mph assistance. That combined with the excessive weight of the bikes means getting it past 16mph is really difficult. You need some big leg muscles.

Engine breaking? Don’t they have freewheels?

Use vision express for contacts, they said I was due a £50 voucher for being on a direct debit scheme.

Priced up some new specs with them, Carbon Fibre Ray Bans with stupidly thinned high prescription lenses, so I expected silly money. £510

I asked if they would price match anywhere else, they said they would… but not online… seemed suspect… it was, got them from smartbuyglasses.co.uk

    £200.95

So didn’t end up using that £50 off voucher!

I would have made sure to take all the roll from middle and empty stall… but I am a bit of a bastard!

Surely without age this is useless?

The other thread on IQ was about a 13 year old having a higher IQ than Stephen Hawking.

And the kids job title is what? He is 13! Maybe Senior X-box player?

Labour, although it’s a fairly safe seat anyway.

Depends on the dislocation. I broke and dislocated my middle finger, was probably about 12 weeks before I could ride again and it’s still not straight 2 years later!

Could do it with PowerLine ethernet, for not a lot of money.

Other than that, drill through faceplate either side, whack 8 twisted wires in same sequence (faceplates normally have A/B option). Cat5 or 6, probably not going to make much odds at that distance. They just crimp on, you can get a cheapo plastic tool, but you can do it with a small screwdriver in a pinch.

Plug ethernet cable in either side.

Mine did that, when I snapped the axle in my hub. But as others have said probably more likely a freehub issue.

Block out the downtube and it’s an Alpine 6, lovely looking bike!

Unblock it and you are a cheating **stard!

Want a go on one mind 🙂

Fortunately was aware of that, and had already let it out, only use it to seat bead.

After that, remove valve stem and put sealant in.

I did one the other week, sweating my nuts off with track pump, wouldn’t go up for love nor money…. then remembered I had CO2 in backpack…. no idea how quickly it inflated but it was in milliseconds.

For the times I change tyres, a couple of quid for cartridges is cheap.

We will have realised that consciousness can be digitised.

We will all live in a digital world that very closely reflects ours, but doesn’t put any strain no the resources of Earth.

Only a select few will be kept alive in the real world (enough to continue the human race once the earth has recovered from World War 24)

Or maybe I have been watching too many films.

Working for the NHS the address book tends to be quite large, I have received an email from a Nurse in Wolverhampton telling me “love you”, I sent one back saying “That’s nice, but I think you emailed the wrong person”.

Still nothing on our Ros though…

I was fairly clear on the noise, told them I couldn’t replicate it in a stand, said it only occurred pedalling slowly up hill. Surprised it didn’t exist when freewheeling slowly, but it didn’t. When I got it back I could very easily replicate it.

Bushings might want doing as well, but lifting the bike by the frame was making a clunk, which is now doesn’t when I have tightened mounting bolts. Gonna get some on order (mainly because it’s CCDB and a pig to find right ones), but I think they are fine.

Fair few in Chesterfield Cycle Centre, but I think it’s more focused around the of road style of bikes.

New Chain, grabbed it from LBS earlier though no postie involved!

Hopefully sort a minor gripe I have been having, if not then it’s take bike into shop because I am out of ideas.

I have a few apple devices, and have developed an app for apple (nothing special).

I do like apple products, I suspect the reason they are highly rated is because they are premium devices.

My macbook is brilliant, the touchpad is by far the best one I have used on any laptop, but then even a cheap macbook pro is £1300. For that sort of money, it’s super high end Dell territory.

Stopped at a restaurant in San Francisco just on chance, didn’t realise it had won all sorts of award and was mitchellin guide recommended etc.

    Had a Detroit style “Motorhead”

Square pizza cooked in blue steel pans from detroit
and topped with wisconsin brick mozzarella cheese, white cheddar, tomato sauce and garlic butter toasted corners. Topped with pecorino, oregano, garlic, extra virgin olive oil

Toppings were – pepperoni, salami, mushroom, bacon, sausage, ricotta, basil

Cooked in a gas oven at 550 degrees

Honestly, probably one of the best meals I have ever had, the missus (who is an insane foody, has done something daft like a 1000 trip advisor reviews) is still banging on about it 2 months later.

Labour costs are crazy on that.

I once had BG come out to give me a quote for a boiler replacement, bill was about £1800 for boiler + £1400 for labour.

I said to the guy, “so how long is this going to take about a week”… “oh no we can be in and gone in a day”….

He didn’t have an answer when I asked why his labour charge was £200 an hour and as it turns out Bill Gates wasn’t installing it.

Could you take the other side one to a local engineering shop and see if they could reproduce one?

I agree it’s not mission critical to be spot on. just make sure you torque the bolt correctly.

Couldn’t tell you what my current F/S weighs, more than my previous one that’s for sure. Current one has 1″ more on the rear and 60mm more on the front. Current one is quicker and much more enjoyable everywhere I ride.

Yes it’s got carbon wheels and light kit on it, but it’s got 2.5″ tyres, how much difference is weight savings going to make in the long run.

These days I tend to think if its faster, who cares what it weighs?

Spent a long time “gambling” last year, I put gambling in quote marks because I actually did lots of matched betting (geeky betting playing bookies off against betting exchanges).

Made about £4000 profit all in all, got banned from pretty much all online bookmarkers (still kept a couple of accounts). To be clear nothing I did was illegal, just that bookies don’t want to provide the bets I wanted to take 😉

Still do bits and bobs, but it has provided me with a huge insight into bookies and the real value of bets. (or often the lack of value)

Would I bet knowing what I know? I had a quid e/w on the national (made a fiver!)

Still play poker fairly regular, but that’s different 🙂

Still loving my five, I am sure there are better bikes, but as long as you are happy on 26″ there are some bargains to be had 🙂

Don’t get me started on that ring fencing rubbish.

Yeah lets ring fence NHS budgets and then cut social care budgets, adding extra strain on the NHS! That makes sense.

As for pay, I wouldn’t say no, this year my pay increase meant I took home an extra £23 a month…. so paid for the petrol to Llandegla, not sure how I am getting home 😉

Very sparingly apply lube to inside of chain wiping off excess, Finish Line stuff still looks black after a few rides.

    Ordered some rock’n’roll.

    daniel_owen_uk

I suspect the Finish Line wet lube is at fault for the dirty sticky mess. It’s been very sparingly applied this time.

Gonna have to invest in a better lube, LBS are suprisingly short on alternatives though.

Would people recommend Squirt or Rock’n’Roll Extreme?

    (Clicky drivetrain, suspected pedal threads)

I saw the 456, but not sure 2nd hand is the way to go, whilst spec wise it’s much better, I don’t want to end up maintaining it in 3 months because she hasn’t touched it and I suggested 2nd hand.

    The specialized is crazy money!

Do like that Trott 1, that’s probably high up the list, and it’s from a shop that I can send her back to when it breaks. Kit list looks good, air forks up frong, hydraulic brakes. 27.5 wheels. Half decent drive train. Good effort for £350

Have XT m8000 on my hardtail, Hope Tech 3 E4 on full sus.

I prefer the hopes, dead easy to service, modulate brilliantly, adjust well and lots of power.

That said the XT are good too, if I had the choice I would pay the extra and get the Hopes, not sure I would take a loss selling XT to get the hopes. If you can get the credit I would.

@lustyd Did you record the video using different bikes? With different chainstay lengths?

I imagine it’s more noticable the shorter the chainstay is.

I am not completely against them in principle, lots of good reasons to get people, that are less able, out on a bike.

That said I went past a guy on one on my local circuit recently, and as I passed I wondered how I would feel if he re-passed me? Fully fit person chasing me down because he has a battery! I think I would be annoyed, blowing out of my arse trying to go as quickly as I could.

Is the marketing being aimed at the disabled? I don’t frequent disability stores, but I suspect bikes with 140mm travel aren’t. Happy to be corrected on that, could simply be my ignorance though.

I personally feel the marketing is aimed at those that aren’t fit enough to go as quickly or as far as they would like. Personally that’s why I ride a bike, to achieve the fast time or that further distance.

All that said I wouldn’t mind a spin on one, just to see how much quicker it would make me.
