Read about this yesterday. My wife bought me Band of Brothers on DVD for Christmas I’ve been watching them on by one over the past couple of weeks. Last night I watched ‘Points’ which was made all the more poignant.

I used to hate using the turbo and could only manage 30mins when using an iPod and staring at the wall. I downloaded ‘Angels’ (longer less intense intervals), and I can quite happily do 3 x 1 hr sessions a week. I’ve just downloaded ‘The Hunted’ so going to give that a go tonight. I use an in car DVD player strapped to the handlebars or a laptop.

Finished 33days 23hrs 6mins – 13281th – quite pleased after entering a day late. Managed to make up a lot of places in the last week after turning and heading east to Cape Town

    It’s Salcombe.

Can’t get rid of Landys. They’re in the blood.

Building a ’48 Series One at the moment (Series 1’s are my favourite)

This is the only working Landy I have at the moment

I came across this pic of my old 110. I had the tyres turned round after seeing this pic

The old comp motor from ‘back in the day’. One of the ones we regreted selling.

Someone pinched my 90 CSW about five years ago, 2 days before Christmas. Middle of the day in an open car park. Never saw it again :(

I once had a TD5 110 CSW without central locking. I went through a spell of locking myself out of it. I became a dab hand at removing the seal around the alpine light, putting my arm in and unlocking the rear passenger door from the inside.

Watched it again last night. Still really enjoyed it, and certainly worth watching twice. What did Ed Tom’s dream mean? The death or last of the old fashioned law men?

I’ve been making good steady progress (series 1) over the past two or three days. I must confess I don’t really know what I’m doing. My present course is to to come close to Cape Verde on its eastern side, but the wind looks like it will be much lighter if I’m too far east.

    I think I’m hooked…

I did exactly the same thing. Too busy concentrating on the berm and missed the fork. Ended up at the bottom on a fire road. Ended up riding back up until a spotted the fork and realised where I went wrong.

I found myself hooked from the opening shot. Stunning. Loved the dialogue too.

Hi Snakebite, Yes. Hanchurch/Swynnerton. Where’s Poachers Cottage? I take it you can cut across to Swynnerton from there? Have been parking at the top at the main car park, but now we’re into the dark evenings I don’t want to leave cars there.

Toyota Yaris diesel – Reliable. Cheap to insure, tax & run. But not cool if you’re under 65, but that quite appeals in a way :|

My eldest lad was 3 when he had a cnoc14. We bought him a Bienn20 small for his 5th birthday. He's average height for his age, he got on well with it straight away. He will have had it for 2 years in January.

I've heard (but I might be wrong) that Islabikes sell well on ebay. You could do that rather than count on their buy back scheme.

    I love Islabikes.

I've not tried the buy back scheme yet, as when one of my sons has grown out of his it's been passed to the younger. They're just great bikes that kids love to ride. That makes it worth it in my book.

Had roof mounted Thule Proride's on the old car, but went with a towbar mounted rack on the new car. Towbar is detachable and the Thule rack locks down with just a lever – takes just a couple of minutes to put both on, or take off. Roof mounted was a faff to take on and off and the temptation was to just leave it on all the time, which shouts that there's a bike stored at the house to any passing crims, as well as affecting fuel consumption.

Towbar mounted feels safer and sturdier too. Tilts for easy access to the boot. Much prefer it. I just hope nobody runs into the back of me.
