    Hora, you’re a goon

You bought that because it was cheap and you cant resist a bargain.

You didn’t like the SX you rode in the Alps with us last year, you say on here you didn’t like the Enduro, so why have you bought another SX?

As a do it all bike, no hope, JCL is right, even with light wheels it’ll be an anchor, and you’re no freerider/slopestyler right, so it’ll be for sale in a month.

I stuck a DHX3 coil on my enduro and its great, 12 stuck a DHX5 + a ti coil on his 2010, he cant fault it, that would have been a better bet.
Why on earth you think you need another four-bar that’s heavier than what you’ve had before is crazy, its not like you can ride or have even broken a bike before, have you?

It depends on what kind of terrain you are riding on.

For long xc days; probably be fine.

Black runs at trailcentres or the equivalent? I’d get a stinger at least.

Agree, depends on what the trails are like, a Gumut p30 is good also

And a long time ago I tried fitting it to different parts of a bike, just a solo local ride trying the camera for the first time

James, you’ll always be ‘grumpy Jim’ to me, my favourite experience of you was you keeping your cool when Hora was bartering with you for tyres at Esher, how you didn’t just tell him f&8k off I’ll never know 😀

I found out that the current X-fusion forks are about to be updated again (new slippery coating to stanchions etc, blah blah) and the paypal balance I had was burning a hole in screen, so couldn’t wait.

Bought some 55 RC3 EVO T’s in the end from Ze Germans (<£600) the three year warranty did it for me in the end – 8)

Greg, I’ve so many forks that have failed either by poor design or require more fettling than I can be bothered with (Fox) that I’ve been doing a bit of homework before I splash the cash again, I’m sure they’re great and everything, not chancing it though.

    X-fusion come in via http://shop.upgradebikes.co.uk/catalogue/brand.aspx?bnd_id=d62d828c-4fe6-42a6-ad3a-9ebb00aff1d9

Only downside for me is they’ve inceased the 2012 coil forks to 170 (10mm more) but the C2A is 20mm more than Fox Van 36’s (160mm versions)

I nearly bought some BOS forks today for £695, fortunately I found out about the R53 siuation, the poor support from France which the retailer was pretty open about, the nail in the coffin was when I looked on the BOS site

“Bos MTB is closed from august 3rd to august 27th. There will be no delivery during this period”

So basically they go wrong, they’re expensive, parts are hard to get hold of and the lazy Frogs like a holiday.

I also spoke to the Horsham based UK distributor of X-fusion about the Vengeance range of forks, he was a lot more help than the child that I rang just before at Freeborn bikes (my local dealer), he didnt seem to understand an axle from an adjuster, shame Jim although grumpy is now working for Spesh.

Interested in the X-fusion forks now I know the importer/fixer is 10 miles away from me 🙂

I bought one a while ago and wear it intermittently for DH, if its dicking about locally maybe not, but Alps and trips to Spain I wear it, I don’t use the straps just wear it loose and it doesn’t hinder me that much and fits good.

I hope that I don’t get round to testing it properly.

I have backed off on the rest of the armour though and only wear knee pads and a Troy Lee Designs BP 7850-HW Short Sleeve Shirt

How the hell does a thread about a rider potentialy having a serious injury, end up as squabble about Howard charging RRP or not?

    Losers

Poor fella, hope he’s ok, I don’t ride that trail anymore as there are loads that are more interesting and challenging for the experienced rider, I stacked hard on that trail a number of years ago and was lucky to just get away with a swollen and bruised arm after hitting a tree at speed (rider error) but off all the trails to hurt yourself on 🙁

We were in Spain last week riding downhill trails, we got talking about armour and injury etc as we had a number of offs and got away with them other than cuts and bruises, one of the lads in the uplift van spoke of a lady that his wife used to work with, apperently her husband had bought her hybrid bike, she hadn’t ridden for years, did a slow ‘car park test’ outside their house, she fell off and died by hitting her head on a curb, awful.

I hope someone in the know has good news about this guy soon, not nice to hear whatever the trail/ability/bike being ridden.

To keep costs down, I’m going to use my Dianese suit and an MX lid I bought years ago which was too hot for DH, I need boots and am thinking of Alpinestar Tech 3 for comfort, any good?

Mark, we are going to get you very drunk each night and we wont be riding much of the of the trails shown in the video above (nice edit BTW)

Absolutely no fun at all – you need to explore the multitude of different trails off the main lines.

    Mr Woppit:
Oh, and as far as Simon is concerned, the hills are not his personal “I’ll do as I bl**dy please” playground just because he happens to own a local bike shop.

    Gotta agree there.

dango – haha i thought so too, fair play if someones building bad stuff call them out about it. but at least hes trying.

If you are who I think you are, message me on FB sometime, hook up for a spin. 😉

Just got back from the hills, cold but not sloppy 🙂

There are some brilliant trail builders about here – Tatto dave, Simon from Nirvana, Haighhd2, Roger – I salute you all

Are you serious? Name one trail that goon was responsible for that’s any good?

I thought he just renamed over peoples trails or built sketchy as f*** stuff that had interior painted doors as part of the safety net to stop newbies falling into holes (Bury Hill)
