Mileage is now paid under Agenda for Change so all staff get the revised figure except medics who remain unchanged.

The rate for using your own car is still not bad (54p per mile for the first 3500 miles) but you have to have it available at work at all times on the community teams so no going in by bike/public transport.

It was the assertion that insurance costs and servicing costs have more than halved in the pat 12 months and the total cost of running a car reduced by 20% that I can’t get my head round.

If a company car was high up on your list of “wants” from a career then you’d probably be better advised to take a job as a middle manager in for a company manufacturing widgets than getting into community nursing

I know. Did my degree in Marketing but wanted to do something more worthwhile with my life.

    **** idiot. Me? Yes.

In fact depending on mileage limit its possibly not nearly as exciting as the headline number suggests

Although it is a little better than the community nursing staff get.

Is it a blue in the Whinlatter/Glentress sense of just a dull forest road pootle.

I think that is supposed to be OR.

Much sturdier than a standard Nic but bit less grip I reckon; survived a thump which nearly killed the DT Swiss 5.1 rim.

Littlegirlbunny off here has just done the Mille Cymru at the weekend – 1018 kilometres with 16000 metres of climbing.

I, for one, am seriously impressed.

I reckon you could have the docs phone numbers over here for 30 grand.

And if you think dolies are expensive you ought to see the costs of the disabled.

Autism alone costs an absolute fortune nevermind physical and learning disabilites:

Cost of autism to the UK economy is £32.1bn per year, compared to cancer (£12bn) heart disease (£8bn) and stroke (£5bn).

    Fron the LSE – http://www.lse.ac.uk/newsAndMedia/news/archives/2014/06/Autism.aspx

All we need to do is find a few families with disabled kids fiddling the system and claiming a motobility car, make a shite TV program, extrapolate to the whole population and plenty of folk will believe that that’s what everyone does.

Here’s my newly built up 456 Evo with a set of NOS Pikes from Devs of this parish.

Got some wheels off Northwind with Minion/Highroller combo to go on but want to eek a bit more life out of the tyres on it before I swap over (tight Tyke).

Colour matching is not really my thing as you can tell (and I’ve just bought some bright green shorts which seem to clash with the bike a bit).

Ironic that a profession full of right-wingers is going on strike!

That’s the thing though, right wingers often get proper leftist ideas when it’s them and their livelihoods threatened.

    Oh, is a 2009 Zesty 44mm?

Then tapered will be fine but will raise/slacken the front end a touch assuming you have a zero stack lower at the moment.

Your bike is nearly obsolete so when you need to replace one part you also have to replace 3 or 4 others due to new standards.

However, I think Merlin still have some Revelations and Sektors with 150mm (I think they can be reduced if need be) with a straight steerer but you will need a new front wheel as they are 15mm maxle.

Otherwise secondhand is a good option for eeking a few more years out of your obsolete bike.

    wolfenstein.

I have a set of Launch Pro knees in S/M that have been worn for about 3 miles before my lad decided he preferred his old 661’s Veggie’s in medium (the Launch S/M is a touch bigger than the Veggie Medium). Will sell for £30 plus postage.

If you are interested my email is in profile.

Just drink the good stuff – it’s supposed to be enjoyed.

It’s like saying I’ve got steak in the fridge but I’m going to have a horsemeat ready meal so I don’t eat it.

Beautiful pics bringing back lots of memories of me and my dad hiking up there 17 summers ago on a rather similar day.

    Thank you for posting.

Unfortunately it’s more about damage to the Maxle rather than just needing a service.

Google doesn’t come up with much, although I think the Maxle 360 will fit; might have to email Fishers regarding availability of that and the Maxle Lite (which is still used on the Argyles) for Pikes up to 2010.

All the new ones are 15mm I think. I was looking at this type

    http://www.bike-discount.de/en/buy/20mm-maxle-lite-front-for-32mm-forks-47097?currency=3&delivery_country=190

and wandering if it was a direct replacement for the older type like the ones in this old thread:

No adult would hand over alcohol to other peoples kids, assuming we’re talking of under 14’s here. That would be silly.

It happens quite a lot as well as cigarettes and weed.

Big ruckus around our way a while back in a similar vein where a young Muslim boy developed a taste for the stuff on the barbeque when visiting.

His parents were not amused and he is banned fom visiting his mate now.

Most of the time there are 4 of us plus camping gear and assorted outdoorsy stuff which we store down the middle.

    Here’s a pic with 4 bikes in:

I have a medium wheelbase, medium roof Transit Crewcab and it easily takes 6 bikes in the back, top to tail with nohing removed.

A SWB would need the front wheels off or some creative arrangement inside.

The photo doesn’t match the description, pic is a LWB high roof but the description at a guess is a mwb low roof.

Weight can be more of an issue, 6 big lads plus bikes plus kit plus full tank of fuel and your close to VOSA having a fit in a 280.

I’d be tempted myself, but then I realise that I’d need a new fork, headset, frame, seatpost, rims and spokes.

    650b isn’t a cheap upgrade.

I think that might be the point of all the new standards.

OK aracer I give up, I’m just not as clever as you.

I agree then with you. If there is conflict over access then the minority should agree to go elsewhere or face being banned.

I thought you asked what would happen if the ban was ignored.

Or did you mean if just I ignored it and no-one else?

Aracer – you answered your own question about what will happen if mtbers ignore the partial ban. It will be made permanent.

Mike – I never appointed anyone to give away my rights.

Yes and I try to stick to the route. Not always successfully but at least she knows what hill I am on and I have to call when done to stop her calling the rescue team out.

This is on foot and on bike.

Reckon we will see similar in the Peak in the near future.

And further afield in busy areas.

And please, stop calling it voluntary, it’s not.

    dangerousbeans

Perhaps if we ban cyclists at busy times. Or it could be voluntary.
