Well I can’t get them to seat on Hope Enduro rims with track pump.

Given up after 3 hours and 4 tyres (chunky monkeys and nobby NICs) and gone back to tubes.

    I like.

Suppose if you sell the van and get a car then you’ll have to buy a bigger caravan or a tent to supplement the lost sleeping area of the van.

Once you arrive at your destination you can leave the caravan and still have a day van with kitchen facilities for extended day trips.

It will be slow but is your leisure time really a race?

    Thought it was Perchy.

Been years since I’ve been there.

I rode the trails and chatted to the bloke in the shop – proper slightly odd but really likeable MTBer.

Is that how you spell Drumlanrig?

We tend to go to our small local independent cinema at Elland. They usually screen the films I want to see but with short runs and only one screen.

Price has now gone up to £4.50 for the film, sweets/drinks prices are pretty much the same as the shops (bag of minstrels a quid, can of coke 50p) and an interval where they come in with the tray of icecreams (also reasonably priced).

Part of the Northern Morris group of independents specifically designed for tight northerners like me.

I use one of the kids old ski mitts over the bar end that’s against the ply, and 2 old knotted inner tubes (to shorten them) over the seat post to each and of the handlebar to keep them straight – makes it much easier to top and toe the bikes with an old quilt between.

Bit more food for thought fellas.

Stevied, thanks for the heads up for actionsports.

My tubeless set up current leaks through the sidewalls – will this ever stop? Maxxis DHF and DHR II tyres.

I used Maxxis tubeless ready on my last setup and they leaked through the sidewalls after a few rides and continued to do so for the life of the tyres.

I think it’s the solvent in the sealant coming through, never affected the setup beyond putting a bit of air in every few rides and redoing the sealant (and removing the solid lump remaining) every 2-3 months.

That explains it. Folk from Donny don’t steal bikes as they have trouble pedalling with their 6 toed webbed feet.

It was not a serious suggestion.

No-one in their right mind would queue for 4 hours to pay £10 for a scone.

    It’s OK Jamie.

Someones added the OP’s wheel/tyre combo in pen.

Also consider. Does your camper weigh more than the GVW which, AFAIK, is 3200kg for the model.

    Yep. Thats the load rating.

Tarmac will just make cycling faster and walkers\fisherman more upset

Sign I’ve seen asked for cyclists to pass other users at a maximum of 5MPH. IIRC correctly that’s somewhere between Brighouse and Hebden but I can’t recall exactly where.

Will admitting that I actually moved the shelf up to the higher holes in the cupboard to allow more illicit cake intake add to your enjoyment?

Wife put Christmas cake in glass fronted kitchen cupboard rather than in a tin so she could keep an eye on it so I wouldn’t keep eating it through November and December.

I merely ate the rear 1/3 that couldn’t be seen.

Mind you, I got one hell of a bollocking come Christmas Day.

Bank transfer no different to Paypal Gift which gets used a lot on here.

I tend to look at someones history and, if its good, would take a flyer up to £100.

EG Someone with 40 pages of forum and classified activity with loads of sales and no negative feedback is worth the risk in my opinion.

Over that and I like to meet to buy or just don’t bother.

Can’t say I noticed much harshness on my 456 Evo, even during a month touring the Alps. My lad used on old Summer Season during that trip and that was a bit stiffer at the rear.
With big tyres I’m not sure I could differentiate between the give in different steel frame, especially the tiny amount that would occur in a fixed rear triangle.

    Ton.

An example of hypothesis which was later proven yet had no real benefit at the time BUT which is close to your heart (pun intended).

In 1842 Christian Doppler proposed that the frequency of a wave could be altered by the movement of the emitter or receiver (that’s my school boy physics).

It was proven a few years later and over the next 150 years practical applications have been developed, with, doubtless, many false starts and dead ends.

One of those being Doppler transesophageal echocardiography – something you may have had done when having your AF assessed and treated.

So a clear line from mathematical hypothesis through scientific exploration and onto practical uses.

This recent discovery may well yield nothing of value to the human race but it may be the most important discovery ever made – the future will tell.

And many people much cleverer than me already think it’s a very important discovery.

Seems to be a lot of cheap 26 inch stuff about.

I just got a pair of not far off mint Hope Pro2/ex721 wheels with tyres for £110 delivered.

The guy I got them off ended up selling his 2 year old Orange 5 frame/Kashima shock for £350 – granted it was a 20 inch frame but seems really cheap to me.

And the tibbe pick allows access to pretty much all Fords and Jaguars.

Had my transit robbed with no forced entry. They use a Tibbe lock pick which are available on the internet for about £30. You can even buy them on Amazon. Its not illegal to sell them, just to use them for criminal purposes. This will only disable the doors and alarms, not the immobiliser. will cost another £50 for that kit!!!
I have changed the barrel on my door to a different type to stop use of lock pick but I’m sure they’ll figure a way round that too.

Some companies differentiate between lift assisted and non-lift assisted riding irrespective of the terrain you’re actually on.

    Check the small print.

I used Dogtag last time, looked pretty comprehensive but I didn’t have to claim so can’t comment on if they are any good when actually needed.

I would say Tignes/Val D’isare ticks many of your boxes.

Took me 11 hours from Calais in a sluggish old Transit.

Loads of Lake based activities as well as tennis courts, skatepark, archery etc. which are all free with a Tignes pass you collect from tourist information office.

Lots of MTB runs (it is a bike park) with lift access with a nice selection of greens and blues (more blue and red by UK standards I think). There’s also a green and blue from Val – my wife loved the green and is not a hard core rider.

Some nice walks too which can be accessed by the lifts.

Oh, and all the lifts are free too for biking and hiking.

For more experienced bikers it’s a bit bland (so folk have said on here) but was ideal for me and family, although I’m not a riding god.

PS – as it’s lift assisted make sure your insurance covers it – I used Dogtag.

I like our neighbours cats but they decimated the birds and other wildlife I spent time attracting to our garden (especially George who killed all the frogs), dug up most of my plants and filled the garden with cr*p, scratched my car and my van to bits and keep knocking the planters off my windowsill whilst cr*pping in the planters on the floor.

I’ve given up to be honest, don’t feed the birds anymore, am getting rid of the flower beds and covering all the garden in stone chip as well as filling in the pond and putting chippings over that as well.

I gave a regular user off here some hayes brakes as he (said he) needed them for his girlfriend’s bike.

He added a couple of rotors and sold them in the STW classifieds the following week.

You know when you see a TV newsreader perform for 30 minutes, that doesn’t mean they get to snort coke for the other 23.5 hours a day.

Not what I heard about Bill Turnbull.

It’s similar to what goes on in Hollywood with actors salaries. The woman are paid way less than the men, even when they have comparable box office appeal. Question is, why do they accept it?

Depends on what they think you will bring and what they can get away with, not always by gender.

John Travolta got only (ONLY!!!!) $150,000 for Pulp Fiction – much less than all the others including Uma Thurman.

Sean Astin (Sam Gamgee in LOTR) got only £250,000 for the 3 films; much less than Cate Blanchett.

Chris Evans (Captain America) got $300,000 for his first appearance and 3 million for Avengers. Scarlet Johanson got £6 million.

I’m just not convinced that the greedy buggers would pass up a money making opportunity.

I’d go as far as to say that Sky would sponsor and televise competitive daffodil growing if they thought it would turn a profit.
