I’m not wanting the decreaser for my own chain but for when I sort out work colleague and friends bikes.

Even though I’ve told them what to use on their chains, the lads at work take advice from our maintenance guys and start putting horrible grease on the chain. Couple of weeks later and said chain is almost solid with grease and grit. They know how to ride but are clueless with maintenance.

Wet lube is the best option for me to use on their chains, Doesn’t need reapplying as often as dry.

Bike ‘specific’ degreasers are expensive compared to non-bike specific stuff though?

I’d of been up for this but off the bike due to broken collarbone. Maybe in the future!

And the ref forcing Chase onto the blind side of the scrum gave them that try at the end of the first half.

I only unscrewed it to see if the rear derailleur would sit better regarding the notch lining up with the drop-out.

I’ve tried knocking it was and didn’t budge.

Fair enough but still cant work why it dropped out fine before and now it wont budge.

The rear mech doesn’t seem right to me.

The wheel dropped out fine when I first took it off.

I screwed it all the way out to see if it could fit properly if screwed out.

That’s an option was but it’s not my bike and it’s obviously not right?

Nope still no joy, It’s not the brakes stopping it drop dropping out but the rear derailleur.

Cheers cbike, I’ve given up for today and gonna sort it tomorrow but hoping that is the issue. Just didn’t seem right how the rear derailleur is sat.

Gonna be a pain in the arse sorting the Crud Roadracer mudguards out too.

Never doing work on a friends bike again, ever. Road over 2000 miles without cleaning or servicing it once and he’s been using some horrible grease that we use at work for our machines, The chain is pretty much solid, no wonder he was having issues with the gears shifting! I’ve road my mtb through local woods every day and not cleaned it for a couple of months and wasn’t this bad lol.

As it is, the rear wheel won’t come out of the drop-out?

I love my Lezyne Femto and before that used a Blackburn Mars 3 which is also very good. I have a Mars 3 in the pack as a spare.

So, basically you’re saying you have the heart of a gypsey and the head of a normal person? I’m confused.

But shouldn’t it be both of you, not just her, sorting it? I mean, does your partner let you tell the daughter what is what? And if you do, does she stand by what you say?

If so, what’s the big deal?

If not, then you should talk to your partner alone about how you feel and about how you need to be able to tell the daughter what is what and she needs to learn that you’re her step-Dad and what you say, also goes.

Not a girl no, It’s how they move that freaks me out. I’m not scared of being eaten alive, don’t worry.

Edit, Yes I am a girl.

So have you spoke to the mother about this?

Sounds to me like you’re blowing things way out of proportion.

Could’ve been worse, you could have been in my step-Dad’s shoes.

My Mum left my Dad when I was 3 years old, My step-Dad has been around since I was almost 6. I have an older sister (24) and an older brother (26)

Not once did he threaten to leave my Mum over the fact I was basically a ‘devil’ child haha, He stuck around whilst I constantly got myself into trouble, in and out of school, which eventually ended up with me being permanently excluded from school in year 9 and doing home tuition, which I never did. Fair few home calls from the police and even being arrested when I was 15 for fighting and using a weapon (One of the most stupid things I did) Always supported my Mum whilst I was going through tests for ADHD. Basically I was a proper little c*nt.

The best thing my Mum ever did was leave my Dad and marry my step-Dad. Does your partner support you and give you ‘rights’ to tell the daughter what’s what and so on? Does she agree with your thoughts?

    I really can’t imagine it’s ‘THAT’ bad…

    I now work with my Step-Dad but he still thinks I’m a w*nker 😉

I could never imagine myself working in an office, I’m fat enough as it is.

I work at a steel/titanium extrusion, Machine operator on a hot stretcher that was here when my Grandad worked here! Our press is about 60 years old ha.

I enjoy what I do but it’s less enjoyable when working with certain people who should’ve been sacked a long time ago/never set on full time.

We’ve just been taken over by a company called RTI International Metals.

Hoping I get my wage rise I was promised last year, fingers crossed!

I see the issue here… You work in an office.

I however, work in a steel/titanium extrusion. Were allowed to cook pizzas and stuff in the dye oven.

One bloke did get a verbal warning once though for cooking eggs in a frying pan which was laid on top of one of the titanium bars whilst it was heating up.

Confused as to which way to go now.

They’re not for me but for a friends bike which I’m servicing and fitting new 25mm tyres and guards for the winter but don’t want to fit the Roadracers if they won’t last.
