I use the cs at the bottom of every dh and would miss it loads, makes it so you can run the shock real plush with no diadvantages while climbing.

Mine is the ccdba with the cs switch and I dialled in the specific five tune off the cane creek set up furum the lounge and haven’t touched it since, the inline has reliability issues to.

Fox seem pretty pointless at the moment when rockshox offerings are as good if not better and can be had for half the outlay not to mention the ease and apparent lack of service they require.

Its an rs with fatbar lite c bars and thomson stem, sram roam 50 wheels with schwalbe snakeskin tyres, xt pedals. I don’t know how to put pics on here but feel free to befriend me on facebook and have a look. Alexanda ford. Find it bizarre you think Id lie about it.

@rik yes it does on the same park scales that weighed my old nomad c at 30.2 lb, I’m a 35 year old man why would I lie about how heavy my bike is?

I’ve got a 2015 five with a ccdb cs and its a marked improvement over the monarch it replaced. 34 lb! Mine weighs 28.9 lb with a moderately fancy build.

Totally agree rickon, I’m running a ccdba on mine with the cs switch and it climbs better in and out of the saddle than my mk2 nomad did, people love to hate oranges let em get on with it.

Id steer clear of fox. Pikes are great I’ve got them in 150mm on my five if pushed I would say my bos devilles worked slightly better on my nomad when hitting stuff flat out but cost almost double the price.

New five would be a great shout imo the nomad and capra are fantastic bikes but are way to much bike for most people, id be super excited to be getting a nicely specced 2015 five.

Done a big day out today with my mate who rides a 2015 spesh enduro expert 650 and I can confirm he is still fine (71k and 1400m of climbing)

I used em for years then went back to shimano for the mega as I wanted the ice tech ones and the difference in stopping power was night and day. Shimano all the way for me from now on.

I can vouch for the 5rs with pikes and ccdba cs its a great set up and more than enough bike for 90% of uk riding.

@flash aka charlie whiting. Your post explains the rational of ukge to enforce these new rulings and does clear up the question of why, its just a shame that I am going to have to find another £100 this year as consequence of trying to put off people who would be in over there depth, bit miffed about that.

    In
But not happy about the ff and insurances rulings but I work weekends and booked them all off months ago so I’m screwed, hope they struggle to sell em tbf.

Could just take out insurance then cancel it but still have the docs to take to sign on, simples.

So you wouldn’t ride these ready built trails then if you just stumbled accross them then I presume?

@pedlad, would you go for the inline over the ccdb a with piggy back because its lighter?

I just swapped from a nomad c to a five rs and I’m very pleased with it, just put a ccdb air on it and its improved it no end to. In my experince the well documented single pivot failings are a load of bollox.
