I’ve done two c cat races of about the same distance this week and they were both less than 45 mins

Did my first race today in preparation for the big one on Tuesday! Not a pleasant experience but already signed up for another on Sunday 🤷🏼‍♂️ managed to stay with The front group until 4ks to go, more weetabix required I reckon.

hope or better still code rsc. id always try and avoid shimano brakes, unless you like a semi automatic bite point.

can’t be vaults for feel, I’m ok greasing them every few months.

i bought the hightower v2 despite it being a santa cruz and all the bell end jibes are worth it as its a great bike. i couldn’t get over how bad the ripmo looks and never fancied a bird myself.

I have both and the codes are night and day better, after 3 years they’re still going strong and the bite point is always consistent. The only reasons I’d buy Shimano brakes is they’re cheap and a pleasure to bleed.

Sorted! Managed to get a 5mm rotor spacer for 7 quid and that’s all I need. Didn’t even know dh boost was a thing, apparently dvo supply their dh forks with the spacer included. Thanks for your help

They currently 20mm so should just need spacers by the sound of it, in theory all I need to do is push it out 5mm at either end and my rotor will still be in the same position. I’ll perhaps call my lbs in the morning as it wouldn’t surprise me if hope make an adapter.

i did one ride with a hans dampf soft on the front and it was terrible, back to a dhf maxi grip and its night and day better. could be a decent back tyre but i don’t mix brands so sold it. currently on DD aggressor rear dhf front.

plus one for the one up edc, just works and can’t forget it. expensive but i wouldn’t be without it.

always thought burgtec pedals are overrated albeit very reliable. ran mk4’s for years and they sit right next to the cranks which ive come to realise i hate, seems the mk5’s are the same. for me vaults offer more grip and a better feel, defo need a bit more looking after though.

ive had my 210 drop one up post for about 3 weeks now, it was a doddle to get set up and its a pleasure to use. I’ve owned a fox dropper and it was faultless too, really can’t imagine why anyone would pay double for fox though.

yes 100%, the rsc is massively adjustable too, great for me as I’m super fussy with bite point.

the grip 2 damper really isn’t better, i have three friends that have gone from 36 to lyrik ultimate and couldn’t be happier. they don’t creak either

a 2nd hand transition smuggler would be a good shout. try and get a mk1 version as they were great and a fair bit lighter. transition seem to be cheap to buy too. the best all round bikes imo are 130/140mm travel 29ers, can’t go wrong

just swapped my dropper on my hightower v2, internal routing is a dream on that. quite surprised actually as i thought it might be a pain.

Four out five of my riding crew have been on code rsc’s for three years or so now. All working as they did when new, pleasure to use too.

i love my fidlock set up too but the bottle doesn’t squish like an ordinary one so you can’t squirt it into your mouth, wasn’t aware i did this so much until i couldn’t.

been dyfi twice and it genuinely is gnar. revs has loads of easy trails you should defo give that a whirl sometime.
