feel nice and smooth. Doesnt bind up when clamped up – tolerance of the sheilds is good so they have enough clearance to run when clamped up but there isnt a big gap to let crap in…

The wheel bearing has two sheilds which are pressed into the bearing There is a small hollow shaft insert that goes inside these but it is too small on the inside diameter for my Shimano screws. I ran without – the bearing is held secure once it is clamped between the sideplates but I may make up little inserts to make it ‘right’

I was introduced to a 6 Month old Cocker/ Rotweiler cross the other day. I want one! Was a beautiful looking dog and I am interested to see what it turns out like. (looked like a Sprocker with Rotty Colours)

Ihave a cocker and a Springer. The Cocker is the clever one…

Not Furthest but my Longest was A Round Trip to London to Pick up a 2500CC engine that I was planning to Megasquirt and fit in my Triumph Vitesse.

That was the rainy day that sparked off those floods in 2007. I was very late home and could not get to the FOD to drop the van back off when I finally made it back into Gloucestershire.

I never fitted the Engine. Wife selfishly got pregnant and that was the end of that :)

Going back ten years, there were wall to wall boobs in our workshops.

These days its all Deer and Ferraris.

What do you wash your bike with? I have stopped using any detergent near the brakes as I am sure this can kill pads on it’s own if left on there for a while. I have tried oven bake, boil wash, scrape/rub/file to recover the pads with little success; No substitute for new pads if you have got something in your old ones

If problem comes back, you may well have a leak of course…

edit. Not really an accident but called the fire brigade out once as smoke seemed to be coming from my extension roof. Thermal imaging camera found the dry pete in the window box smouldering – at it’s centre was a fag butt…(fireman put it out with MY HOSE PIPE)

I rode to work yesterday and my right knee really hurt every rotation. Just another one to add to the list I guess.

My mate’s stolen bike appeared on ebay.

He “won” the bike and arranged to pick up. A police officer went in his place.

NB He got is bike back but bugger all happened to woman who had the bike at her house – just some deperate smack head holding the bike so the real culprits cant be touched.

oh and the bike got nicked again a few months later

Once you click out of the horrible tiles screen you are back to a Win 7 esque desktop anyway (without a Start button)

loads of bugs in the pre-release for me. (sleep/ wake probs) and drivers are still a bit beta (my Graphics would get quite washed out and required a restart)

Previews on Photos didnt work for me. Clicking on a vid sends you to Windows 8 movie screen which likes you to sign in to live, so its VLC player to get over that

Had to use firefox as the new IE had probs (facebook pictures underneath text for example) I like an address bar and tabs. In 8 you have to right click to get it back

I am pretty sure I had issues when I had an open login on both machines (no password) so I set a password on both and it was ok afterwards. Probably not your isue but woth considering
