I have had one go like that and it went bike nicely. (ok not perfect by any means but close enough is good enough for me..im not on rim brakes!)

I do all my wheels now and get better each time. Buy some beer. Take your time. My best tip for getting them to stay put is to remember to back the nipples off a tad when you do the final tension.

Offered up a 29er wheel to a meta 5.5.2 frame so see how much would need cutting out to make it fit 😯

A battered Fiat Mulipla. After over-bidding, I then had to then spend 200 quid on belts, tensioners, a water pump, filters oil (and a MAF).

No I cant drive it due to being a dumbarse and not insisting on the New Vehicle suppliment. (Awaiting V5 and it could be 4-6 weeks before I can tax it)

I would say worse ebay purchase ever, but alas, the 5 grand road legal quad bike beats hands down. (beer was involved)

Enduro was cool!

Must admit, I got to the end of lap one and Wondered if I could go another…Looked at my phone and it was 75 mins (yea yea, I know) so I decided to go again.

Did a painfully slow 2nd lap (getting passed left right and centre by the 4 lapper boys… but got round in the end. Loved some of the singletrack and the last set of downs was ace 🙂

Will go again next year for sure. (Wont take my phone this time..see other post 😯 )

I just realised that each of my 3 tubes are schrader and wont fit my rim if I have a tubeless fail. Oh well, it will keep the weight out of my bag…

I only have 1 bike now, so I feel gears are required to do it all.

My scandal was SS with carbon forks. I decided to fit 100mm forks with gears and promptly ruined it.

I have a scandal 29er.

Its its built up 1×9 with Drake 100mm forks currently. It had rigid carbons and SS before that. Recently fitted Stans Flow rims. These are great and inflated non-tubeless tyres with a track pump first go (Ardent 29er 2.4)

I dunno, adding heavy forks and gears has taken something away from the setup. Less grins per mile I think.

Its on soon. I have seriously lost my biking mojo and I am at a year's peak of fatness/ lack of fitness…if I turn up I might blast one lap and be happy to die there and then rather than finish the two…(if I can get off my arse and actually do it at all that is..)

Completely impractical but interesting. No diff at the back meant it was insane in the wet. Only 250cc too so it cost nothing to get about on.Topped out when modifed to about 60mph. Sounds slow until you get on a twisty cambered lane and then it feels really, really, fast… Not really like a bike, nothing like a car. Ace fun

I replaced it with a Yamaha 660 raptor, which would have been nuts, but it arrived and there was so much wrong with it, I had to get my money back. This was it, and it was on to the next thing….

Forgot the Road registered quad bike. that was a hoot. The Vitesse was ace – and tax exempt – and it was never about going fast. If you don't get it then you dont get it.

I barly have time to ride once a week, let alone spend 3 hrs cleaning it so I can bring it in the house…(and to be fair, Mrs Dancake just would NOT tolerate a bike in the house)

I come home, it gets put in the Purpose-build shed and ancored down with 2 motorcycle chains. If the shed gets done over and the crims get my bike, they must have really wanted it…much rather a smashed shed door and a cut frame than inviting criminals into my house for my bike

regarding the jewelerry argument, I dont regularly drive up to the house with a sign saying "£2000 ring on board" ; its kind of harder to hide the fact you are bringing an expensive bike home…

Made a tool to remove bushes from Fox forks..check
Ordered New bushes from USA as I strugged to get them here…check
Turned up a nice tool to press bushes in with..check
Inserted fist lower bush…check
Inserted next lower bush…[strike]check[/strike] OH NO I HAVE STUCK IT IN THE SAME SIDE IT WILL NEVER COME BACK OUT WITHOUT BEING DESTROYED AND I HAVE A TRIP IN 2 DAYS AAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGGGG

If you get the MRP 1x I would suggest changing the mounting screw before fitting it. Did mine up lovely, but had to drill it off because it rounded off instantly when I wanted to adjust it. I like the look of it though and it works. I have a SS chainring but I think a short cage mech is in order to complete the setup?
