Without thumbs how could they roll anything? You know those empty packets of silk cut and bensons you can spot in hedges…. 🙂

There are hundreds of smokers that live to a ripe old age, so by your logic, smoking must be OK for you?

Cats have a diminished thirst reflex and if fed a purely dry food diet despite having free access to water are often dehydrated and typically produce about half the urine (which is much more concentrated) as a result. This leads to a variety of health issues.

An 11.5 stone person produces on average 450 g of poo a day. Go for a crap before a race and you’ve saved your Reverb and Revelation added mass straight off!

Their “Issued at” time refers to the longest past time they have still on record. The data comes direct from NIMROD and isn’t a forecast.

If your “Issued at” time differs from the time available on the left extreme of the slider bar , you need to fully reload the page in your browser (usually holding shift and refresh).

I’m looking forward to my collarbone not hurting. Over a week now, and the pain’s getting worse, not better! 🙁

If you go to the play store, and select my apps, then installed, it’ll give you a chronological list of apps installed to your device (most recent first) Have a look for anything odd there.

When you have the padlock displayed, can you either press it, or drag it to one of the white spots to get to the pin entry stage?

I’ve got a setting “show slider before secure unlock” which shows, or hides the padlock before entering the pin. Its in the security menu in settings.

I’ve broken my collarbone and it hurts to laugh. I’m avoiding sites like the daily mash and the Mail to save being in pain. Folk here are generally good with a spoiler tag for sports and film related stuff, can we not have one for funny stuff like this too?

Speak to the folks at Upgrade bikes (http://www.upgradebikes.co.uk/index.html) and see what they have to say.

From my limited experience with my O2 RCX, it does take a little while to bed the shock in, but I’d never have described it as harsh at any point.

Remember that depression is an illness, and a personal one at that. She will understand her triggers, and symptoms much better than anyone on here.

Let her guide you in how much time she wants with you, and how much support she wants, but also remember that she’s probably confused and worried that you’ll do a runner now she’s told you. Re-enforce that you’re not planning on legging it just yet!

Good luck to the both of you 🙂

Easiest option would be to register some space with a hosting company (e.g. GoDaddy or iPage) and get them to associate your domain(s) with the hosting space.

Then install something like WordPress which has a very good set of documentation (or use something like Deamweaver if you want to get your hands properly dirty) to build your site(s)

I became a teacher 6 years ago, so had one year with a pay rise and my wages have been frozen since then. I have moved up the main pay scale, but that will stop next year when I reach M6

Surely if you’ve gone up the pay scale over the past 6 years, then your take home pay has actually gone up, therefore you’ve had a pay rise? Or am I missing something?

Nuclear isn’t a “terrible” idea. Uranium based power just has some significant disadvantages.

Liquid Flouride Thorium reactors are theoretically more efficient, produce less waste materials and are inherently safe due to the properties of the fuel. Whilst there is research going on in the field, the general misinformation and paranoia in society regarding “nuclear” reactors, I think puts governments off pushing forwards with investing.

As for wind farms, there are fewer and fewer unspoilt (in modern times terms at least) parts of this country, and sticking up a job lot of windmills that aren’t up to the level of efficiency that are claimed, interestingly by the companies that have a vested interest in their construction, isn’t the way to go.

I had a similar issue with SLX brakes a while ago.

Whilst not the most helpful of solutions, I gave up on Shimano, and their approach to non-repairable parts and their lack of after-market spares and opted for a set of Formula brakes. I can still easily get a full set of spares for my 2008 vintage K24s

I use copilot, though I did get it in a sale, so didn’t pay much.

Seems pretty good for sat-nav duties to me.

I think what the parasite journalist is getting at is that he has no real concept of human decency and no real understanding that there are folk out there who are willing, and able to help those in need in situations like this.

The keeping down the vermin argument doesn’t work.

My cat brings 2 or 3 of these in a week, I’d say he’s doing his bit for vermin control…

    Cheers folks for the suggestions.

The sidewalls look fairly well worn (see pic below) and in places the diagonal “fabric” type stuff that’s showing through has alomst gone through to the inner of the tyre. In a couple of places it has, and the sealent is only just able to plug these holes (one such hole in centre of picture). Turning at speed can pull apart the sealed holes and the tyre hoses it’s fluid out the hole again.

For info, I run these at around 30-35 psi.

Seems to me that this is a pretty clear case that the apparently aggrieved party isn’t taking responsibility for her actions, the OP is taking responsibility for what happened and is trying to move forward in the best interests of the dog and his family. It seems it’s the OP that’s getting a raw deal off the majority of folk here.

I find it kind of odd the way society is moving…. 🙄

You can build good, non-blog based wordpress sites with very little effort.

Setting up wordpress with paid for hosting is very straight forward, and a lot of domain registration/hosting companies have a built in wordpress installer in their control panel.

I’ve used ipage, and 123 hosting without problems. ipage were considerably cheaper.

You’re right that Miracast creates it’s own peer to peer network (WIFI-Direct) between the streaming device and the receiver but you’re still limited by the capabilities of connection technology on your devices, which will be a, g, or n – depending.

    dan1980

It’ll depend on how good your wifi is, and what is is you’re trying to stream, as to whether stuff freezes or not.

If you’re trying to watch a 720p movie, a 802.11g wifi network will be OK, provided you’ve got a good signal strength. If you’re trying to watch 1080p content, you need a good 802.11n connection. It’s worth noting that some “Wireless N” routes don’t work so well when there’s a mixture of g and n devices connected at the same time.

If the TV supports DLNA or Mirecast, you can stream from an android device straight to the TV without any additional kit.

I think (Not 100% sure) that for a fruit based device, you need to use AppleTV. Happy to be corrected though…

The “whole” presents get chucked out into the hedge behind my house when the mogpuss isn’t looking.

The “part” presents get scooped up and disposed of in food waste.

    I’m really not sure why I differentiate…. 😕

It’s a bit of a trek, but the walk following the cumbrian way to Stake Pass, then coming back via Angle Tarn, and down Rossett Gill (or further round to Esk Haus and down the band) The view down Borrowdale is lovely.

Depending on how short you want the 2nd day, a bimble around Tarn Hows is rather nice.

I paid for some hosting from ipage, and they’ve been fine so far. Good support too.

I’d second wordpress. It’s fun to go back to coding if you want, playing with the php and java bits, but if you can’t be bothered, more often than not you can find a plugin to mostly do what you want to do.

I was a massively fussy eater as a kid, and still am to a certain extent.

The only tip I’d give you is to try and avoid making it an issue.

I was really thin as a child, and barely ate anything. I just didn’t like food. The times where mealtimes turned into a battle of wills with my parents are burned into my memory and I still can’t eat some foods because of it.

When they eventually just said “sod it”, and stopped watching what I ate, I found it much easier. Being distracted at meal times by general conversation, but being made to sit at the table made me just kind of pick at food, and eventually made me realize it tasted OK, and the texture wasn’t to horrific.

For years after I only really ate because I was hungry, but over time, I’ve actually come to enjoy eating, and now struggle with being a bit of a porker!

The solution will depend on to a certain extent on how she’s peeing.

If she’s spraying up a vertical surface, it’s because she’s not feeling secure in the house, and is marking her territory. It’ll be a stress thing, and trying to sort out her stress should fix the problem. That feliway stuff is good and sorted my rescue cat out.

If she’s peeing on a horizontal surface, it could be because she doesn’t feel secure weeing outside, or it could be a health problem (e.g. Feline lower urinary tract disease). Make sure there’s no blood in the urine, and she’s not straining when she goes/walking around hunched up after going. If she’s fine, get her a litter tray and just accept the fact she’ll use it.

Regardless of the causes, get some white vinegar to clean up the current peeing area. She’s got a better sense of smell than you have, and will pick up on the scent even when you can’t smell it. The vinegar should help neutralise the compounds she’s picking up on, and should discourage her from re-using the same spot.

I wrote a letter of thanks, naming the nurses and Drs that had done a fantastic job looking after me to the patient liaison people at the hospital

When I popped in for a follow up, my consultant and some of the nurses present seemed genuinely suprised and appreciative of the effort.

Without wanting to open a can of worms, I bought a set of Flows on Switch evo hubs from Superstar in 2011, and they’re still going strong. They needed a new set of bearings last year.

If you’re just replacing the back wheel, it’ll set you back around £130- £150 depending on the options chosen.

Does anyone know of any long legged motorbike trousers for the slimish rider. Trying to find 33/34″ leg, 34″ waist trousers is proving difficult. It seems everywhere I look, manufacturers are catering for the hobbits of society!

I’m almost at the point of considering a spot of cross dressing as the womens troos seem to be a lot longer for a given waist size.
