Get a 3.5 to 3.5mm cable, plug one end into the headphone socket and the other end into the line in/mic socket. Then use your software to record the line in/mic channel.

Looking back through this thread it also seems to be a common trait for baggy short wearers to consider themselves to be endowed with horse sized wangs.

When I’m cold, wet and knackered, my gentlemen’s vegetables practically disappear, so wearing baggies hides the lack of bulge….

I use advanced task killer, set the autokill level to aggressive and get it to do it every half hour, and don’t have a problem with phone slowdown.

I’d suggest ditching the inbuilt browser (regardless of your phone) and either going for Opera (which is very fast but a bit buggy) or dolphin mini and using one of these.

I’d recommend Plusnet, on normal adsl and getting on average 10mb speeds (my phoneline’s rated to 15..)

Cheapish, and very good customer service.

I use a Genuine Innovations Ultraflate+ (I think) which has the cylinder cover thing at the bottom, and that accepts the 16G canisters.

All the rescue centres I’ve visited have already “done” their cats, and fitted them with a microchip, so you just pay to register it, so that aspect of the cost shouldn’t be an issue.

You can get directional HDMI leads?

Yep, all the electrons are forced to march in a particular direction. Any wanderers are shot for dissent.

An orderly cable is a happy cable, and everyone knows that a happy cable gives you the bestest picture. Go home tonight and cuddle yours and you’ll see the improvement 🙂

It probably sounds like I’m taking the proverbial, but are you certain you’ve got the chain threaded around the right way. When mine wasn’t it sounded like the mech was rattling.

There’s a plate between the two side plates of the cage, and the chain needs to be above it.

    Sorry if this isn’t helpful

So, you’ve bought the camera for your holidays.
The camera is faulty but you’re not going to return it.
Instead, you’re taking the faulty camera on holiday, as originally planned. And then want to send it back on your return, with all your holiday snaps, for a full refund.
I like both your balls and your style sir.

Not exactly. The plan is to test new camera tonight with my new SD card, if it works, take camera on holiday, have a jolly good time and return with lots of pretty pics and videos of me being somewhat hardcore and full of gnar. (Or something like that!)

If after my test tonight proves that the device is in fact faulty, then I plan to stuff it all back in its box and leave it in a cupboard until I return, meanwhile taking my old camera that doesn’t do video and have a jolly good time and return with just pretty pictures.

If it’s faulty I’m not risking not being able to take pictures if it properly buggers up 🙂

A superconductor walks into a bar.

The barman says “Get out, we don’t serve your sort here”

The superconductor leaves without putting up any resistance.

You can get racks that mount on the disk calipers, and seatpost clamps with rack mounts on. Not sure if this helps?

Going to be testing a Giant branded quick release seatpost clamp and rack mount and a topeak rack over the next week, I can let you know I get on if that helps?

Not sure about the parable/proverb thing, but if I recall, the gist of the program was you can’t really know how long something is, because if you keep going small enough, at an atomic level stuff is moving about so until we can hit absolute zero we can’t know exactly how long something is.

Found a link on youtube if you want to watch it.

How long is a piece of string

2 times distance from middle to one end.

There was an almost interesting thing on Horizon a while ago with the regular panalist from QI (Alan Davis?) asking the same question, and showing the answer isn’t quite that simple.

The only bit I’ve not ridden in reverse as it were is the bit into and out of Royche Clough towards Mount Fammine, so shall have to give that a go at some point to see if it’s better than the kinder campsite descent. I’m not convinced mind 🙂

    Hollins Cross > Edale > Jacobs > Kinderlow End > Kinder Res. > Middle Moor > Lantern Pike > Birch Vale > Cloughead/Chinley Churn > New Allotments > Peep O Day > Mt Famine > Roych Clough > Rushup…

    Would agree with that.

I guess it’s horses for courses, having done it all in the Hayfield -> Edale direction, and most, as part of different routes the other way, I’m not sure why people think the Hayfield -> Edale direction is better. As I see it, the only good bits of down you gain are Jacobs ladder (which is arguably overrated as it’s only really technically challenging at the top) and the green lane at the end of Rushup Edge, which normally has a land rover parked in the middle of a weekend, and most people seem to use the path to the side rather than the rocky gully anyway! The slog out of Roych Clogh towards Mount Famine must be soul destroying and the trek up to Edale cross from the Hayfield side is just unpleasant 🙂

    Perhaps I’m missing something? 🙂

Tapered forks go from 1.5″ at the crown to 1 1/8″ at the top of the steerer (the tapered bit is only about a couple of inches long, and I don’t think there’s a standard for the pitch of the taper)

So a tapered fork will be to big at the crown end to fit into your head tube

I find that the rockshox PSI table is isn’t accurate.

Assuming that the recons only have one air valve on them, inflate to say 50psi, and see if they sag about 20% (i.e. for 100mm forks they compress 20mm) when you’re stood on the peddles leaning on the handlebars.

If they sag more than 20% of their length, put more air in them, if they sag less, take some out, repeat until you get about 20%

Assuming your newer bag is a camlebak mule, the question that should be asked is how big are your inner tubes and pump! 🙂

THe mule from a few years ago

    and the recent update

I don’t have any problems getting the stuff you list into my 2008 vintage mule, and it’s not exactly bursting at the seams and I believe the more recent version is actually larger.

They’ve changed their distributor in the UK, so you can get parts at CRC etc. quite easily.

Has this problem suddenly started happening, or has it been happened since you put the tyres on? (You say the back tyre is worn, has it worn through use as a tubeless tyre?)

I found that folding beads tend not to seal very well, and maxxis in particular seemed to have little raised blocks at regular intervals on the bead, I assume from manufacture, that caused air leaks. I found the best way to deal with them was to file them flat.

It does, but how does it know what the errors are, and how big they are?

There’s a custom setting, which is the one I’m trying to use, as the error in my data comes from m, and not from DI. The series I’m plotting is a formula (=(Cells containing values of DI)/(Cells containing values of m) so won’t it just do it’s own jiggery pokery on the answer value rather than the component with the error?

They’ve been moved to a new XMB category “TV/Video Services”

As iplayer etc are just shortcuts to web pages, you may need to leave your console switched on for a bit and wait for the PS3 to find them again.

Running Superstar/Formula, and couldn’t be happier with them.

Brakes are much better than shimano slx and avid juicy 3s I’ve used in the past. No bother bleeding them, get a cheap avid bleed kit of ebay (Same fitting for formula), and follow the instructions.

Wheels have withstood months of clumsy riding from me, and are still true.

Regarding reliability, I went through 3 calipers with stuck pistons before giving up on 2010 Slx brakes.

The lack of user servicability and lack of spares annoyed me no end. Now using Fromula k24s and much happier, they seem much better brakes and are fully servicable.

    On my Samsung S2:

GoSMS. Better than the standard SMS client
GoKeyboard. Better than the standard Samsung S2 keyboard (Gives you a comma on the main keyboard screen!)
    BatterySolo – good battery display
Opera Mini – fast browser, useful when you have limited signal
Advanced task killer – keeps my battery happy
Thetrainline – free train time app.
Mytracks – Handy gps logging thingamygig
Angrturds -because the bloke at work likes playing it
Plants vs Zombies (dubious legality!) fun “tower defence” type game. If you go looking for the .apk, make sure it’s the 74MB version, not a really dodgy rip-off 2.5MB one.
BeautifulWidgets lite – A useful clock/weather widget that does what the HTC clock does.
IMDB – Handy pub argument setting app.

32bit operating systems run out of numbers used to address the memory at 4GB. Because some of the devices on your computer also take up some of these numbers, there aren’t enough to allow you to “see” all 4GB.

Your memory will be working at it’s appropriate speed etc. it’s just that Windows has no way of addressing it, and therefore using it.

Strictly speaking, as mentioned above, its a limitation of 32bt operating systems. You can get a 64bit version of XP

Got dumped by my then girlfriend on my 30th birthday. To be fair to her, she had said she’d make it a birthday I’d never forget.

I dumped my first girlfriend after I’d decided things weren’t working out and I wanted to get out. Went to her house, explained the situation, and said quite clearly “Things aren’t working, and I want us to break up” queue loads of tears, “This is the worst day of my life, I have nothing left to live for” type stuff was said (by her) and I did the manly thing and legged it.
A couple of weeks later, no contact between us, and she appears outside mine and says “I don’t think things are really working for us, we never seem to see each other any more” It felt really cruel to have to explain for a 2nd time…. 😕
