I’ve just reduced the gps sensor rate and increased the time between position recordings on my android phone using Mytracks (I assume other gps recording software can do the same thing?) it reduces the accuracy of the speed and location a bit. It makes the battery last a lot longer.

I did a 5.1 rim with an Advantage folding tyre at the weekend with the stans kit and no problems.

Today I had the excitement followed by the the horror as the reality set in of the changing of the works sweet machines.

Chocolate has gone up from a standard 60p to:

    70p for a mars/twix type bar
    80p for a yorkie/aero bar

Crisps have gone up from 40-50p to 70p too!

I’m scared that the coke machine will go up from £1.20 and I’ll lose my source of aspartame!

An advantage of the generator smock over a thermal pro fleece is that it’ll be wind proof and shower proof, so could give you more layering options.

As it’s just a lever that pulls some gear cable, could you not use one from another manufaturer that’s not £110? e.g.Rockshox poplock?

Had my commuting bike nicked, I wasn’t using my normal lightweight lock that day though, the bar stewards got through this thing from Abus The effort it must have taken made me think that they probably deserved the bike!

The bike was worth less than the cost of the lock too!

Sadly not with me any more, the cat we got together was taken from me during the “divorce” from my ex. I miss her more than I miss my ex. 🙁

Every time I got a map out to scope out a route, she’d come and do this, as if to say “Don’t leave me!”

I entirely agree that it’s up to crc to sort out Royal Mail on behalf of the customer if there’s a delivery problem. I don’t think as a recipient you can actually chase up anything with RM anyway.

But I you can’t hold CRC accountable for any failings in RMs infrastructure. It’s kind of like saying that if you have a monster crap, it’s your fault if it blocks the water company’s sewage system.

If crc have handed a parcel to the royal mail how can they be held responsible for the actions of another company? It’s no longer in their hands, and they wont have the power to move the package through the mail network.

So your order has been posted, and its non-arrival is the fault of crc how?

Shirley you need to be blaming the royal mail?

Can’t think of any reason for a degeneration in signal access, but if Mrs FDs phone is newer than yours, it could be that the “radio” ROM is an older version. An older ROM might cause your phone to not be as good at getting signal. You can check the version numbers in the Settings.

You can update this, but you may need to Root your phone, and faff about, although it might be worth trying to update via the HTC software first. (When you update you’ll probably loose everything, so best to make a backup, or copy stuff off first.

The retailer is Biketechs of Rochdale.

I’ve given then till 5pm Monday to give me the refund in full otherwise I’ll lodge a dispute with Paypal and inform trading standards etc.

I’ve sent the distributors (Hotlines) a copy of the email that Biketechs sent me, so hopefully they’ll get a telling off from them too.

    Interesting development!

I’d emailed the distributors regarding the 10% handling fee, and just got a replay saying they don’t actually charge one!

    Naughty retailer!

    Thanks for the advice everyone.

It was an online order for a standard, off the shelf frame, then emails with the shop in question when they notified me the item was out of stock (interestingly still available on their website :o/ )

I’ll politely ask for my full refund and if they don’t want to give me the full amount, I guess I can start a paypal dispute (just inside the 45 days)

There wasn’t anything in the t&cs that mentioned any kind of fee.

It is me that’s changed my mind on the order so I’m not really going to kick up to much of a fuss about it, other than there being no mention of the handling fee from the retailer, and I wouldn’t have carried on with the order if they’d mentioned it.

I used to do it with a single pannier. The trick was to pack it so the heavy stuff was closest to the wheel and at the bottom. It felt a lot less odd that way. Anything especially heavy went in a dry bag and sat on the top of the rack secured with bungy cord.

I got caught in a feirce shower just pottering over Lantern pike on my way home from Kinder. It was sunny when I left so didn’t think I’d need anything other than a baselayer and some shorts.

    Much dampness, wasn’t ideal 🙂

The S2 is a lot more robust that you’d think.

I’ve dropped mine countless times (one time onto a rock from about 5ft which left a dent in the bezel) and it is still working fine.

Try installing Chrome. It’s a 32bit browser, but has a version of Flash player built into it, and it seems more reliable at handling Flash content than IE or Firefox with an “external” version of the Flash player

Playstation Home is some kind of online social thing, that needs installing if you want to use it.

If your Iplayer icon etc. is missing, try logging into the PSN Store and download something to see if that helps it appear.

I have a pair of the deflect gloves, and think they’re pretty good for this time of year until it gets properly cold. They’re made with some kind of softshell matieral, so are a bit water resistant too. Not sure how they compare to sealskinz gloves, but I’d say the material is probably about 3mm thick if that helps.

    Rockshox website[/url]

Nothing coming up on my computer. It just opens the normal site.

I’d suggest running a virus and malware check…

Thanks, I’d looked at the mega, it sesms to have very similar geometry to my mmmbop which suits me nicely, but wondered if I would be over-biked and whether it’s a bit heavy for all day adventures.

I do, it’s more the up and along bits, where it’s a lot harder to stand, that seem to be causing the problems 🙂

Sorry for the ignorance, but will any chain ring do (so long as the bcd matches) to go 1×9 or 10?

Beavers’ teeth are reinforced with iron, which is why they are orange.

Degus also have orange teeth, but that’s due to a reaction between the chlorophyll in their diet and their saliva.

I can’t get to sleep unless I am lying on the opposite side of the pillow to the one used the night before.

If I use a hotel or b&b, I’ll carry on this, by deciding which side is the one I’d have slept on the previous night (e.g. if I slept on the patterned side at home, I’d look to sleep on the non-patterned side at the hotel/b&b)

I appreciate this is a little odd.
