    RANT START:

My Dads a CEO and I can say its been pretty horrendous for the family. Im 22 now but hes held the position for a fairly long time. Constantly travelling and moving between countries. Ive lived in SA, Germany, US and now UK. As I grow up I realise how little hes actually been around. He’s a nice enough guy but completely work driven and I dont really know him.

It comes to the point that he comes home for a weekend between 3-5 months and still manages to spend half the time on the phone/laptop. We havent had him for any family event for more than 2 whole days in the last 10 years.

Once in a while we go with him to wherever hes going next but then its more of an excuse to travel. He wont be back till 1/2am and then be out the door in the morning before we are awake.

My sisters 15 and has virtually grown up without a dad. He cant even tell me what GCSEs shes doing (3 choices). As he gets older I can tell hes starting to regret it. Seems to try to keep us sweet and is calling more often now, etc. Works his life but I think he really enjoys it.

Ive done a few work work placements at the company and the impression I get is that they all really like him. Hes always got time for people in the business.

He’s probably a workaholic and I cant seem him slowing down yet. He’s amazing at his job and has an addictive personality. He gives plenty to the family but its not a substitute for loosing a father figure.

I think that whilst these people seem like they can manage everything perfectly at an impossible rate then your right. They’ll be sacrificing something along the way. They’re only human.

Lesson I’ve learnt? I will never put my self/family in this position. I would prefer to take a step down if that means spending more time with the family.

    RANT FINISHED!

Yeah but the Christmas presents must have been great!

the World Heath Organisation has come out and said the research does not back up the claims made for the last 20 years

Reference? Can’t find anything on WHO site other than stuff that is pretty supportive of the idea that high cholerstoral = heart attack

Thanks for that link, interesting, 1% chance for me apparently and statins would have no impact (still 1% chance).

7.2 with LDL of 4.5 so pretty high.
Do find it quite odd as I say for a fairly healthy diet, decent amount of exercise, not too old (36) and not overweight.
Trust the result though as is 2nd one at similar level and from my Doctor.

IMO needs to be at a top school, in the UK this means London, Cass, Cranfield, Manchester, Imperial, Said etc

Which one you chose should depend on the focus of the course – eg Cranfield is more softer skill focussed, Cass more analytical with an eye on the City and so on.

As others have mentioned the value comes from the network it opens.

In terms of difficulty its not very hard per se in terms of the subject matter – what is hard is the sheer breadth and workload – there will be a subject you struggle at. I best describe it as doing 10 A levels at once.

Mine has opened lots of doors for me and was well worth it. The real benefit is if you want to go off and do your own thing; they’re quite confidence inspiring.

Get him an iMac, not fair to make him struggle doing docs and stuff on an iPad. Get him an iPad for when he is travelling.

    In what way ?

Other than build quality, I can see how they can be.

Signal attenuation. Poor quality conductor, greater attenuation, more chance of loss over a longer run. But it’s digital! Yep, that’s still a signal being either 1 or 0 and one that depends on many millions of them being received in the right time and order.

As the poster said, cheap cables seem fine on short runs – but I’ve seen issues myself on 3m+ runs (quite common with a projector).

Bang for buck, when doing gym work I had best results (size wize) with this:
    http://www.hypertrophy-specific.com/hst_index.html

In my experience worked for both mass and also as less frequent maintenance and time pressed all over gym workout.

If you sell screws you can’t trade mark a generic name like ‘Screw Shop’ since that would be unfair to everyone else who sells screws. Likewise for a geography and so on. This is what the clause is trying to capture.

FYI Also the TM after the mark doesn’t really mean anything.

Can you not take medical/family leave to get back and find out? I’m not sure Google or STW will help you in respect of something definitive and that you can rely on – just not possible over the web.

Hope Pro 3 hubs (Noisy ride)

I have Hope hubs on my mtb and quite like the noise – but it would drive me nuts on road! Didn’t even realise they did road hubs tbh!
