its all well saying get it out, but try getting to convince a doctor that he or she is wrong

    Get a different doctor.

You could try STFU and listening to the person who has been to that medical school and done that training?

This is really bad advice, appendixes are one of the most misdiagnosed conditions. As I mentioned briefly my wifes was misdiagnosed on 3 occasions by 3 separate Harley St doctors and scan.

It wasn’t until she was the operating table (on our wedding day!) for what they thought was on ovarian cyst that the fckers realised there was nothing wrong with her ovary and her appendix had burst.

They had to rush in a surgeon and luckily her saved her. Honeymoon at Gt Portland St!

Talking to the surgeon and doctors after this is an extremely common misdiagnosis. Deaths are fairly common, in fact at the same time my wife was in he’d just lost a young girl in a similar situation.

You know your body, if you’re worried get a second opinion, another scan etc.

Don’t listen to the stuff about studying at medical school – that may be right but diagnosis is nothing more than educated guesses.

And they say stuff like this

The MINCO CT325 controler is not a PID but just a very quick hard on/off solid state switch with a +/-0.5°C deadband. The Zaffiro normally heats for 30 to 45 seconds and cools down for maybe 5 minutes. Thus the huge temperature fluctuation. With the MINCO installed it turns on only for a few seconds every twenty seconds or so keeping it within the (MAX!) +/- 0.5°C in the boiler, which translates to roughly +/-0.25° in the brewing head due to its buffering effect. The sensor should be mounted as near to the heating element as possible for quick reaction. (I will mount mine on an aluminum 6mm halfround piece inside the boiler temperature well.) If the controler is mounted in the area of the normal t-stat, it is easilly adjustable through the vent slits with a small screwdriver. My friend connected a small digital voltmeter over the holes for the pump switch and light, (who needs them? If you need the pump you can hit the switch under the E61 lever with your thumb.) so he can see exactly what the temperature is at the sensor. There are two leads on the MINCO for that purpose where the V readout = the temperature. Also it is a good idea to insulate the boiler and pipes.
So all you need then is to determine the actual brewing temp and set the boiler temp accordingly. I think my friend has his set at 104°C for 94°C in the brewing head. When I get mine done I will send some more exact info.
(I measure the temp inside the E61 with a small electronic thermometer with a 3.5mm stick. I replaced the Allen screw in the center of the head with a longer one out of aluminum that is drilled out 3.5mm, (not all the way through!). Fits right in and responds quickly within 1/10°C. )

This is the kind of stuff they measure

It would appear that GDP growth increased at a lower rate compared to similar countries under Thatcher.

GDP growth in the UK increased at a higher rate compared to other countries after Thatcher was gone.

Look at graph again – rare of increase (gradient of line) is greater for UK

Monetarism pretty much a dead duck now.

We’re still controlling the money supply to maintain an inflation target.

No politician is perfect, but as Tony Benn said you knew where you stood with her. On the point of unemployment, industries like coal were no longer viable, she didn’t waste money trying to subsidise them and although bitter at the time, countries that did try to keep loss making industries going like France & Germany are now paying for it with huge unemployment now.

She stood firm against the IRA and reacted with an incredibly cool head in the Brighton bombings.

She took on Argentina and won.

    She revolutionised higher education.

Her government turned around an uncompetitive, union-dominated economy into a powerhouse that set a lot of precedents for the world to follow.

She inspired (some of) a generation to believe that hard work pays off.

She was a genuinely well respected leader the World over.

Do people not understand that the coal industry was NO LONGER VIABLE? Why prop it up?

    +1.

Standing up to the unions was probably most important thing she did. The strikes and effect on output convinced Thatcher the problem was supply side – she moved away from demand management economics, focusing on monetarism and supply side reform .

Whatever you think look at our GDP growth from 79′ to now and compare to other countries. Thatcher laid most of the ground work for that.

That’s hard! Every object will have been shot differently, different light, shadow, focus etc. It’s always going to look like a collage.
Be easier to get all the objects and photograph them together!

CC – did you manage to source your UK/China trade gap numbers?

    damo2576

Posted by idiots who can’t answer the 240 billion going to China from UK, and only 100 billion coming from China to UK.

Ok, I’ll take the flame bait.

I think the trade gap between UK and China is generally about £1bn a month, you seem to be suggesting a gap of around £140bn. Source please.

I’m sure you’re aware also that our overall trade deficit is decreasing and now below £5bn, helped of course by the recent depreciation in sterling. Admittedly that is not as much of a reduction as many would like to have seen and you would be right in hoping that exporters would have done more with something like a 25% depreciation in sterling.

The other interesting point is that China recently posted a trade deficit, so how do you explain that one?

Wheels are Mavic Crossrides which I’ve been v happy with.

I was tempted by the Scandal but wondered if it would be much different in reality to the xtc frame

Same here, rode in the 90’s on a Marin Muirwoods then a ’92 Stumpy, stopped when I went to Uni in ’96.

Bought a second hand hard tail about a year ago and went out with some of the same people i did in the 90’s. Same routes too! Great fun. Much slower though!

FWIW you can pick up xtc frames dirt cheap on ebay if you want to give a go. A lot of people like me must flog them! Only go for around £50-£100 i see which for a decent alu 1.5kg(?) frame ain’t bad.

The xtc is really light, stiff and responsive. I just find it a little tiring after a while. A few years ago it wouldn’t have bothered me but getting on a bit now…
It’s fairly stretched out/racy riding position also so depends if you like that or not.

interesting, I’m looking for an alternative to a giant xtc frame which i like but find a little uncomfortable.
