Its not really a travel one but Greg Lemonds book always stuck with me for his come back from injury/disability – if your mum walks with sticks she may find that quite inspirational?

I’ve dealt with employment law a fair bit, making redundancies, firing people etc. The only advice I would give is speak to ACAS (google) – assuming you don’t want to spend money taking advice from a solicitor.
Speaking as an employer I can tell you the law is heavily weighted in your favour!

Are you bigger than he is?

    Comes down to this really.

You’re not going to want to waste money on solicitors and given he is a lodger I doubt he has the money to either.

Vintage Rolex Milgaus would do for me. I make do with an Oris though.

Watches are really a mans only jewellery, I’d spend as much as I could afford no problem.

Either have a proper watch (Rolex, Breitling, Oris etc etc) or a cheapy. Don’t do the inbetween D&G junk.

Its really the colours that you pay for I think. Many a decorator has moaned about painting with it but you really can’t beat the colours.

Our house is painted in it and as a sceptic I am a total convert.

    Fixed that for you

Oak worktops here. Not a mark on them despite us being untidy kitchen slobs.
Water, red wine, curry. Not a problem.

You’re probably right, the kitchen I was referring to was one we had a a rental house we had to stay in for a little bit – was probably cheap. It did burn also when you put a hot pan on it, not sure if thise would happen on more quality wood? My wifes a chef so our kitchens get a pretty industrial workout.

We have a Leicht kitchen now with Granite which I would wholeheartedly recommend.

Extremely uncertain times to move job – if she moves she will lose all her employment rights with current employer. If her new employer wants to cut costs in the next year she can be made redundant with no payment.

The offer needs to reflect this increased risk.

    can someone advise please
SLX double at the mo with a SLX 32/11 cassette and chain

I think just take off your smallest ring, add some kind of chain guard and remove mech and shifters no? shorten the chain too?

Funnily enough I bought Deore one today – guy in the shop told me they’d taken them apart and reckoned it was the same as the XT one.

So there’s 4 lbs between the frames, that will require a serious spend to loose that on componants

Yep, think I have to accept its gonna be heavier.

Just so I know, what are the lightest fs frames? I dont need massive travel.

Out of intereste, what HT are you comparing it to, and how much does that weigh?

Was a Giant XTC, not sure how much the bike weighed, have bare frame now though and its bloody light. 1.5kg I’d guess?

FYI it was a piece of cake, no need to let air out, just drop shock out and back in easy.

    damo2576

Ok will do it without letting air out, seem like i just undo the bolts, drop the shock and put back, no trouble.
    Thanks!

May just zip tie the hose to the bracket – not sure I fancy a whole day of trying to fix the shock back…

    Hmm.
I only neet to remove it to slip a brake hose into a guide which is between the Fox mounting point.
Was hoping i could just undo the top bolts, move the shock out the way and slip the cable back in.
But dont want to do if its going to be a real pain..

Mean it feels heavy to pick up and bit heavy to pedal – but guess its always going to compared to HT.

Crossrides – I always thought they were pretty light wheels – will look into it.
