Saw Gyneth Paltrow and Kate Moss (separately) a few weeks ago in the pizza restaurant downstairs from work. I was in there because it was 50% off Tuesdays. I wonder if they were thinking the same?

I was surprised, thou I suppose this is Highgate, plus it looked like they were there for kids parties.

I would guess so. The photo shows 2 cables.

If you’re looking for a lightweight cable kit, just noticed Singletrackbikes are selling Ashima Reaction kits for a tenner (both gear and brake). Just ordered a brake kit in black.

Plus Merlin have 3% Quidco, bringing it a little closer to the Ribble price.

damitamit, you doing the Dynamo on that?

Not doing the dynamo this year :( Got a friend’s wedding that day.

Besides, this is way too pimp for the dynamo and lacking an actual dynamo.

come on spill the beans, spec and weight please?

Got round to building mine up this weekend. Not quite finished (excuse the white stem, waiting for a black Kalloy to arrive) but nearly there.

I phoned Westbrook this morning and they’re sending out a new headset. Hopefully it will arrive tomo and I can finish the build.

Finally got round to start the build.

Actual frame weight for a 54 is 903g (no seatclamp, bottle cage bolts, headset or bb)

But it was promptly interrupted when I realised I didnt have all the headset parts. Missing a crown race and have two different sized bearings.

Anyone installed the headset or a different BB yet?

Cant it be done with a diy headset press?

And can the bb be removed with a headset removal thingy?

Dunno, but my Crank Brothers Cobalt 11 carbon post arrived on Saturday and its lurvely :) 175g uncut.

    Yep, very quick dispatch.

Just ordered a SRAM BB. Wish I’d spoken to them before it was dispatched – checked whether they could’ve swapped it.

Just bought a Crank Bros Cobalt 11 carbon seatpost from On-One. Supposedly around 170g once cut down.

Weighed all of them apart from the Shifters, rear mech, Saddle, BB, bar tape and Cables. (Those are from weight weenies or manufacturer sites)

Thou I’m sure the end real weight will a little more. There’s always something unknown adding more weight.

The Scott forks are actually lighter than the scott quoted weight.

wwaswas, same problem here. I have a cut down 27.2 Bonty XXXLite weighing 152g I was planning to use.

Can’t decide which lightweight 31.6 post to get…

The geometry seems pretty standard for a 54. 545 vtt and 540 seat tube. Only thing is it has a tall headtube. I bought a 54 thou my bad flexibility and odd proportions usually mean 30mm spacers, so maybe I’ll be able to slam it.

Oooh nice. Mine arrives at 10.30.

Photos on your kitchen scale? :)

My audax partner in crime rides a Dolan Preffisio. We did a 400k a couple of weeks ago and he was ok.

(They have racey geometry thou. They’re very much the exact copy of a race bike but cheaper with guards category of winter bikes).

    Same here!

Anyone know if you can fit a normal Sram Red crankset to a BB91 bb/frame?

Sorry ska-49, that was probably me! :p (well that’s if they do have it in stock. I’ll find out tomorrow).

It’s going to replace my Isaac Impulse frameset (which will be for sale if the Scott is good). Aiming for a 14lb build.

Got a Dualit 3in1 thing (http://www.dualit.com/products/coffee-machine) a couple weeks ago. Normal espresso machine but can also take NX (copies of Nespresso) pods with an adapter. Best of both worlds maybe?

Tried a few NX capsules and coffee was average at best (but quick). Haven’t dialed in the grind yet to make a good ground coffee espresso yet to comment on the normal side of things…

People on the forums (Weighweenies, Bikeradar) seem to like the carbon wheels from Farsports.

I bought my FM028 carbon frame from Carbonzone a couple of years ago and they were good to deal with. It also arrived much quicker than I had expected.

I’ve got one of these and rate it for the price.

You can either fold it in half along the zip, then roll it from the bottom up to and then down the sleeve. Or just scrunch it up and stuff it in. Seems to work either way without too much bother!

I’ve had the SRAM ones from ShinyCufflinks for a couple years now. They’re great (thou I dont wear cufflinks that often).

Shorts are like saddles, depends on the person.

I’ve had good luck Sugoi shorts (and they’re a lot cheaper than assos). I’ve used their Evolution bibs (the cheaper model) on long stuff, 200, 250 miles without too much bother. In fact, I have a pair of their more expensive RS bibs and prefer the Evolutions (so much I have 3 pairs now).

I reckon the most important thing is that the shorts are relatively tight fitting so the chamois doesn’t move about.

Nicer to sip neat on the rocks than Stolli is.

I used to use some cheap BBB frames with lenses glazed by Optilabs. Worked fine for years. These but didn’t use the prescription insert. http://www.cyclesdirect.net/bbb-powerview-2-glasses-crystal-silver-black-frame-blue-revo-lens-for-bike.html

Now I’m got some Oakleys. Worth the money if you’re using them lots!

There’s a pub there thats quite popular. They have attached accomodation across the road, which was new and clean. We stayed there last year for 1 night.
