Bike looks great, especially as I’ve seen it in the flesh.

Hopefully my tripster should be finished on Monday, thanks for your advice on the wheels

You can also enter into the world of money laundering if you know you are purchasing something below market value but that only applies to buy it now price or off a bloke in a pub. As its eBay and its an auction it would be hard to prove.

I found the best advice on my first darkside run was to just sit at the back and gain experience and just make sure you can make the entire ride without making them wait for you.

After the first ride you can gauge your strength and you know if you have it in your legs to do your share or just hang in for dear life next time you go out.

If you start to get tired hang on to the wheel in front and do everything you can to hold onto it. Once you lose the wheel you will struggle to get it back. Sitting in a slipstream when you are “bonked” is hard but its harder on your own.

don’t overdress, road riding is constant, no jelly beans enjoying the view etc. you will soon warm up.

    above all, enjoy the burn

I’ve just bought one, 22 inch. Im 6ft3.

I’ve kept the steerer long just in case.

I’m running rockshox revelations with a 2 step. 120 to 140 travel on the move.

To be honest I didn’t really feel a big difference in the geometry but it was far better on the downhills.

I run a 21 inch scandal too and its a similar size but the horsethief has a lot longer wheelbase due to the head angle.

I’ve only had one ride but I like it but I guess time will tell.

Just google your local powder coater. I got frame and forks done for around 30 quid. It could cost you that for postage. They also offer a dipping service to strip all paint and grease.

A quality painter puts bungs in the threads otherwise you will have problems rebuilding it.
