A friend Vinyl wrapped someone’s full face black helmet in leopard print. He had a shock when he got it out (Snigger) at antor stiniog.

Tbh it looked rather good. You can also undo it easily

I use seal skinz all weather gloves. Usually around 30 quid but they were 17 quid at go outdoors the other day. All sizes available but limited colours.

I also have gbe extreme cold version but never wear them as they are too bulky and warm.

    What do you need?

For example if you run sealed bearing hubs you don’t need cone spanners.

Are you going to install your own headsets?

You might be better off just buying the bits you need/know how to use

    I just have

Hollowtech bb remover (I use shimano xt cranks)
    Chain whip and cassette remover
    Chain tool/splitter
    Chain checker
    Pedal spanner
Park tool allen key multi tool x’s
Syringes for bleeding shimano xt brakes
    Rubber hammer
Plyers and good quality cable cutters
Hope bottom bracket tool for pressing bearings
    A few screw drivers
    Tyre levers

Never needed anything else and when I do I use my lbs

Ive probably missed a few things.

I sent some crank arms to oz last week, tracked by royal mail. Cost 18.10. Took less than 10 days at Christmas.

Are these the ones you spotted at £135? If not I hope it saves you money.

A friend had a set on his Whyte 146. 24 spoke, tubeless, lightweight etc. They were very good and took stood up well to snowdon and antor stiniog etc

The only downside was the seals. The bearings went in the freehub and spares were difficult to get. When we stripped it the pawls had ripped off and made a real mess. New freehub was eventually tracked down and cost 50 quid.

If you buy them keep upto maintenance on the freehub and you should be OK.

I’m currently considering a push tune for £143 or a new shock. Haven’t made my mind up.

Those park patches are great but if its next to the seam of the tube then they tend not to work.

Also put them in a small plastic zip bag to keep them dry. If they get wet at all then the glue is a bit dodgy.

Sanding it down to get rid of grease etc is the secret

Can you put some slime inside to seal the hole? Either take the core out or make asmall hole and stick a patch over it?

This is what tf tuned said

    Hello,

A PUSH tune will fix you up.

Cost of the service/tune is £143 and you are more than welcome to book online when you have the time.

    Here’s how it works:

FOX CTD boost valve and RP series shocks.

When a FOX RP or CTD boost valve series shock in its standard guise compresses, the oil in the damper travels through two different paths; the first of which (low speed) is through the centre of a bolt which holds a piston to the damper shaft.

The damper shaft is housed within the shock body (grey or gold anodised part).

The oil flow through this central port can be stifled by a bullet tipped poppet valve when the rider activates the pro pedal lever.  This is what provides you with a platform.

The secondary route for oil, is to travel through ports in the piston (mid-high speed).

Once through the ports, the oil is controlled either by a penny washer which is preloaded by 1,2 or 3 conical washers to give you soft, medium or firm compression; or on more recent boost valve products, a hydraulic valve is used, and forced against the piston ports by a charge of nitrogen (boost valve pressure).  Variations in this pressure provide you with different levels of compression resistance.

There are only a few different compression settings available to accomodate every rider and every bike linkage/leverage.

Of course, once the low speed oil flow has overcome resistance from the poppet valve, the washers or boost valve behind the piston provide the blowoff threshold of the platform.

Once compressing, the washers or boost valve don’t offer a great degree of control for the oil, providing the rider with a shock which feels initially harsh, and then wallowy.  This wallow is of course, accentuated with large volume air cans.

When your shock is PUSH tuned at TF tuned shox, the piston is replaced with the PUSH Vxr2 version, which has larger ports to allow more oil flow.  We then use our expertise and consideration of our customers preferances, to configure a stack of up to 30 shims each 1 1/10 of a mm thick.

Every PUSH tuned shock is unique and designed specifically for the rider, and bike.

The PUSH shims control the flow of oil from the very beginning to the very end of the compression stroke, offering a ride characteristic which is completely customised for your frame and riding style.

The propedal feature of the shock still remains, but in a better form, because we can alter the resistance from the poppet valve to offer more or less platform, depending on your requirements.

The Vxr2 piston also has larger ports for high speed rebound, allowing us to customise the rebound speed to return quickly after successive hits without being like a pogo stick.

The end result is a shock which tracks the ground far more smoothly, responding to small bumps actively and giving endless feeling travel, whilst retaining a good level of resistance to pedalling when the propedal lever is actuated.

After this customised damper circuit has been configured, we can also offer the BIG HIT KIT to provide a very gradual bottom out control for more extreme applications.  This extra option is particularly useful for riders using shocks with a large volume air can.

When I first put my tyres on I inflate to about 40psi. Between 30 and 40 it pops which is the Tyre seating on the rim.

Once I’m happy its seated correctly I then deflate to 25ish.

Once its on it shouldn’t burp air.

In my humble opinion the 29er suits the taller rider better. I ride the 2013 salsa horsethief and I love it but it is more biased to downhill than up. I think the new split link and shorter rear stays helps with the climbing.

Having ridden different 29ers over the last 2 years and got used to it I would never buy a 26er (for my style if riding)

I’ve just gone with esure. Cheapest quote on confused. Com

They told me I didn’t have to specify any items under 10k.

All my bikes are covered in house and out the house. I just need to provide a receipt or letter from a bike shop detailing the value. I’ve taken detailed photos to document them.

They even said its insured even if unchained. I got him to double check as i was so amazed. The phone call was recorded by them and in the event of a claim I also took a recording as no doubt they will not be able to find their copy. (Yes, I let them know it was recorded at the start)

Touch wood I’ve never claimed in over 15 years but if I do I won’t let them riggle out of it.

Running 29er revelations for about a year. I use the dp all the time and now wouldn’t buy a fork without it. Mine are the solo air which I prefer over the double air reba’s I had before. They also have the lockout/trail/full lever that I never use.

    Great fork, highly recommended.

I serviced them a few months ago and they were very clean. No crap has got inside but I’ve been running a marsh guard which might have helped.

Only issue I had was when I first got them. Turned the bike upside down to hellitape. Spent about an hour doing it. Went out on a ride and they wouldn’t work. Had a air lock or something. Sent them back and got the internals replaced (or so they said) never had an issue since, touch wood

It depends on your local council. There are over 400 councils. They are also under funded and have had to get rid of a lot of staff. BT make millions and outsource their calls.

If a tenant is more than 8weeks in arrears you need to ask for a SAFE decision. I. E. They cannot manage their own finances and they are at risk of eviction. If you provide proof and the tenant does not disagree to your records the payments should then bepaid to the landlord.

If you visit your councils website they will publish stats onhow long it takes to action a change in circumstances (on average) to give you a rough idea on how long it should take.

You will notice a direct corralation to the increased times vs budget/conservative government.

You didn’t want damages after being knocked off your bike? She must have been good looking!

You are obviously a better person than most of us. I would have been pretty angry!

Always try and take a photo of any damage of your bike and the car. Take the registration number and also try and get a picture of the driver. you should always report it to the police and get a reference number. It is upto you if you want to presscharges or not.

What happens if god forbid something happens in the future to you that you didn’t realise at the time and you cannot work, pay your mortgage etc

I know its unlikely but you need to protect yourself. Especially when gits like above end up taking action against you for scratching their car!

It sounds like bushings or maybe the bolts have movement.

I would try and borrow a decent shock and swop it over. See if it solves the issue

If it does, its the shock. If it doesn’t look for wear.

    Good luck

I thought it was weird that the daughter was at the premiere of the film in London considering just how ill and old he was.

Then there is the question of where he will be buried as it will be a pilgrimage and therefore an opportunity to make money.

I thought it was bad taste that the grandson moved his parents body to his farm knowing Nelson Mandela would want to be buried with his children. Therefore he could make money from people visiting his resting place.

How did you let it get so bad? Why did you not take action quicker before it got to 5.5k? Contrary to the above comments you must be a saint or really lazy.

If your tenant is claiming housing benefit and he gets more than 8 weeks in arrears you just need to provide your local council with proof and they will then make further payments direct to you.

If you have bad knees stop using your ss. You need gears. I would also recommend a professional bike fit.

If your using spds/cleats then invest in some quality floating cleats to save your knees.

Learn some good stretches and make sure you do them before, during and after your ride.

Start having baths instead of showers.

X fusion was set up by some people that left fox I think. So in theory you get fox quality without the price.

Ive also heard good things about Manitou tower forks.

    I bought this off eBay.

    http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=140983139167

Its black scotch lite tape. In normal daylight you don’t even notice it on my black bike but at night i shine up like a christmas tree.

I also bought these lights for 12.99 which took a few weeks to arrive.

    http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=350895076276

They are very bright but I doubt they are 2000 lumens! They have an alternate flash. This allows you to see a constant light but attracts attention. The change is instant so it doesn’t strobe. But there is a slight wobble left to right which you get used to. They run off 2 18650 batteries which you can change so you can replace mid ride.

So for less than 20 quid I can be spotted a mile off!

What about some x fusion forks? My friend has a pair. He took them apart and inside there a holes in the stanctions. You pull out the pin and put it 20mil up/down and then rebuild. Took less than 15mins and does change the way the fork feels. I was really impressed with them and they are a lot cheaper than fox forks.

    Hi. I run these

    http://www.on-one.co.uk/i/q/FORSRCT3DP-TAP-2915-DBK-CRN/rockshox_revelation_rct3_dual_position_140mm___tapered___29_inch_with_15mm_axle___diffusion_black___crown_adjust

Dual position. 120 to 140 on the fly. 120 for climbing 140 for descending.

Best of both worlds and future proof in case you change the bike.

When I moved from 9speed to 10 speed on my mtb I didn’t notice a difference but I did on my road bike .

I think 11 speed is great but comes with a price tag. If value for money is a concern stick with 10 speed.

If I was spending all that money on a bike I would want to test ride them all and let the bike decide, not us.

My ten pence would be the 29er orange 5 but that’s because I am 6ft3.

I live near Halifax and the majority of people I ride with ride an orange 5. It does everything fairly well. Takes a kicking and needs very little service.

The only downside is the single pivot braking takes a bit of getting used to.

    Good luck.

Don’t forget the titanium bolts and rotors, could save an extra few grams there. Plus going tubeless could save another 100 so.

But you could do the upgrades to a canti bike. Bottom line is discs will be heavier.

As discs are so popular you can probably get more bike for your money with cantis and if its for racing then light weight makes all the difference.

I’m using disc now and I would never go back.

I think you need to do some test riding and let the bike decide.

I’m a mountain biker that commutes to work. I run a cx bike as it takes mudguards, racks, wider Tyres and disc brakes.

If you are riding on your own or you are stronger than the people you ride with then go ahead and buy a cx bike. They are great and much more fun.

However, they are slower IMO then a road bike as they are heavier and have different geometry. They do make a great winter bike.

The best cx on the r2w scheme must be the planet x XLS.

    http://www.planet-x-bikes.co.uk/i/q/CBPXXLS105/planet_x_xls_shimano_105_cyclocross_bike

There are a few road disc bikes coming out. Have a look at the canyon website.

I’m using SRAM rival double tap and I would never go back to shimano now. I agree with above, trade the wheels in for something better. As px build their own bikes they let you spec them as you want or upgrade.

Buy a carbon bike and if you don’t like it just change the frame and forks

If you replace the screen with a non apple screen then it voids your warranty. If you ever have an issue they will charge you to replace the screen first before they repair the problem.

First time I ever saw one was whilst cycle touring in Africa. I had no idea what they were and my mate belittled me.

It was the coolest thing I have ever seen. Covered in solar panels and a complete camper van.

4×4 could go anywhere. I have been hooked ever since.

I think they are one of those things you admire but in reality its probably not that great. (Unless you have deep pockets)

Vw t5 lwb mid top. 5.4 metres long and 2.2 metres high I think.

Big enough to live in and still able to drive anywhere (within reason)

My wife drives a polo and its amazing how similar they feel to drive.

My bikes stay on the tow bar.

Best bike van i saw was in a vw crafter, had a permanent fixed raised bed at the back with a solid box. This was accessed from outside where he stored all the bikes, kit and clothes.

It had a shower, toilet and kitchen but they were all average height and able to sleep sideways.

I live and work in Halifax so will keep an eye out too.
