Anyone running intel WIDI on W10? I installed W10 last week but went back to W7 as the WIDI didn’t run and I couldn’t find an upgrade that fixed it.

Another vote for IXS trail RS. I have also got a small head and this is the first helmet I’ve had that looks sized to fit. All the other helmets I’ve tried, Fox etc. seem to have a large shell and extra padding to make it fit a smaller head and they look stupid IMO. The IXS is light and comfy too so there’s nothing to fault.

Ah, that’s OK then. It just spat a bit out. I didn’t realise the oil could get into the air chamber and I’ve never had it happen before.

Thanks for the search tip. I found the post showing the 2016 model so think I might wait a few months until they’re available.

Do I get Eurosport and the bunch of discovery channels?

You need the “family bundle” for those at £36/mth.

Good call, available for pre order £59.99+ £3.99 p/p.

Disappointed with the price. At £50 I was thinking OK, it’s steep for a cylinder with a hose but it’s a start-up business so they gotta get a return. I was also expecting the price to include shipping as it’s an online business. Another 15% on top including shipping is pushing me to the flash charger for around £90 as it’s a good track pump as well as a cylinder. With the airshot I think there will be several copies coming from china later this year if people think the margins are that good.

The rallycross bit got my attention. That’s a motorsport I’m going to go and see. Short races with total commitment get my vote.

Plastic Nukeproof are good except for the protruding axle. They supposedly fixed this for the new model (Electron Evo) – waiting for a pair myself.

    Ditto!

Light, strong and don’t look scruffy after strikes as the plastic is coloured right through the body. Could do with a few more pins if I was to be picky but for the price I can’t fault them.

For lunch the Dee Side caffe bistro by the bridge serves excellent tasty food at very reasonable prices and the service is faultless. I stayed at Gales on Bridge Street and their food was home cooked and also very good. Good wine selection at Gales as well. As others have said the Corn Mill is a good choice for evenings.

Thanks for the replies, some good info’. It sounds like just carry on fettling with air pressure and seat clamp tension until I get it right for me. Or more Greggs as suggested by binners.

I’ve had one as a company car for the last 3.5 years. 2.0d Tekna plus 2 version with manual box. Fantastic car that I have enjoyed for every one of it’s 109000 miles and I will be sad to see it go. It has never had any problems and the selectable 4 wheel drive works well. The driving position gives an excellent view in traffic and if Nissan hadn’t dropped the 2.0 diesel engine I would have got another. As for transporting bikes, I use a Thule roof bars/carriers.

Thanks for the replies. The length is the issue with royal mail. It doesn’t matter if you use postal tubes or wrap in a bag if the length is 700mm then RM won’t send it. Hermes looks a good option. Just had a look and £3.78 with a signiture. They take parcels up to 120cm long.

Thanks for the replies everyone, food for thought. I can’t change my car andyinthorne as it’s a company car so I either go careful or wait until the lease ends and change for a better tower.

I bought the Anthem 1 27.5 frameset (from pedal on) and built it up to my spec’. For all round trail use in yorkshire it more than fits the brief. Light enough, enough suspension (120 fork fitted) and all-day comfy. I fitted XX1 gears with XT chainset and RF narrow/wide ring. I had never used Sram before and I love the shifter and rear mech. It works flawlessly and in my opinion the roller clutch mech is better than shimano shadow plus. Giant dealers usually have these in factory spec’ for test rides and I would recommend having a go on one. With the frame only option you get a standard 1-1/8 to 1.5″ tapered headset so stem choice and forks are easier to match. The weight penalty over the carbon frame isn’t much either.

    Gratuatous pic’

A very sad loss. He was always one of my favourite riders. Shogo was all about style, period. Used to love getting the American skateboard mags back in the seventies to check out the latest photos of Shogo and his z-boy mates. Then going to the skatepark and trying to copy their flowing style.

Lightweight, good climber and descends well, the Giant Anthem 27.5 is your friend.

I built mine from a frame and parts from online retailers for a total of £2300.00.

For xc and trail riding it’s hard to beat.

Thanks for the feedback everyone, some good info’. We have a couple of trips lined up and want to cook a bit more to keep costs down so need something. The hibachi looks good too so will have a look at them as well.

I have a hope bb93 in my Anthem and SRAM bb30 on my roadie. Both are smooth and silent. Correct fitting is probably key, not knocking it in with a hammer and bits if wood.

Alpinestars Al-Mega with 27.5 wheels and discs. I still have, and ride now and then, my old 1991 cro-mega and love the e-stays.

Ha ha. Some awesome replies. I forgot to put dropper post on the list but it’s ally frame and no 1 x 11 so definitely fails the 2014 test anyway.

Looks like I need to try again next year :D

plenty people think it’s cool to have a box delivered to work that they can sit on their desk to say “Hey look at me I’m dead funky and stuff, I get little snacks delivered to me in a box”.

Ah, that’s a world I know nothing about. I’ve never worked in an office.

I just got an Anthem 650b frame. As mentioned above they work better on the trail with bigger forks. I fitted 120mm SID’s when I built it up.

    Giant Anthem 27.5 1

I’ve never ridden an Orange 5 but the Anthem is a fantastic trail bike.

    Nice bell!

I never used to bother but since I started using one walkers get out of the way without any agro. Makes the ride better. For me anyway.

    Nice Mate ? 27 or 29?

27, I’m only 5’9″ so not ready for the big stuff yet.

As spotted its a poplock for the fork not a reverb switch.

Shaft drive instead of chain, hooked up to internal hub gearing. All made from composite to keep weight low.

I bought one of those Sony’s at Xmas. It’s brilliant. Excellent picture and has a wi-fi connection so access to Netflix, you tube etc. Can also sync my laptop and play my music files though it. It includes a wall mount bracket as well as the stand so is a great buy.

VW Phaeton. 3.0 TDI or 5.0TDI. My ex boss had the 3.0 and it is the comfiest and most relaxed car I’ve ever been in. On a par with A8 and S class.

    In your price range too.
