I felt the same way six months ago so sacked it, took better broadband (sky fibre) and still save money every month. Don’t miss it either. I think I was just watching it because I could rather than because it was something I wanted to see. All the sports they show turn up on the freeview channels after a few days so it only pays off if you must watch live sport.

This is the one I have. I got it for a retrobike project about five years ago but never used it so it’s as new.

Let me know if you are interested. email or pm from my profile.

Also have a quill stem if you need one. It’s 1-1/4″ too.

Is it for a quill stem? I might have one in the garage and will take a look if it is what you are after.

I have just swapped a HD on the rear of my Bird zero to a NN 2.6 apex pacestar. Riding in calderdale so a mix of mud, wet cobbles, gravel and roots. The NN is gripper than the HD but noisier on smoother surfaces.

I got the 2.6 NN’s fitted today and there is plenty of clearance. Needed seating with an inner tube, the airshot wouldn’t seat them. Removed inner tube and set up tubeless to run at low pressures.

It will function fine but you will risk dropping the chain on rough ground due to lack of clutch on the mech to keep the chain tensioned.

I’ve ordered some from Merlin. Less than £30 each so too cheap to pass up. I’ll post whether they fit or not in case any zero am owners want to do the same.

My weekend started this afternoon and I went to Dalby with the Bird. Great conditions and a top afternoon.

Took a trip to Hebden Bridge and finished with a run down Ragley.

If she’s a true beginner then the red is not for her, too long and too technical (in parts). Go up to the dixon hollow car park and take her on the green trail (adderstone). It’s a mix of mainly fire road and some single track and about 8 miles with some nice views and woodland trails.

IMG_2156 by Paul Harrison, on Flickr[/img]

If she’s wanting something more challenging the blue trail has more single track and some steeper descents.

Yes I do, it’s a Rock Shox monarch XX and it’s a bonus not having to reach down for the lock out lever on the shock. I have a dropper on mine too as I ride more trail than xc. I would recommend giving the dropper a try before selling as these bikes are a very capable trail bike, especially with wide rims and big tyres.

My 2015 Anthem 1. This has 120mm SID’s and 1x 11 gears. Super fast everywhere and a great all-rounder. It’s my third Anthem. I love these bikes!

Nice frame sirromj. This is my zero I built earlier this year. Great bike, so pull the trigger on some wheels and enjoy!

Agree with the recommendation for grand aero milenco’s. I’ve had mine for a couple of years and they are as good as it gets. Easy to fit/take off and good rear view.

My wife bought a caravan a couple of years ago and at first I wasn’t pleased. But for the last two years we have it on a seasonal pitch just outside Pickering which is great. An hour to get to and on the doorstep for Dalby so it get used nearly every weekend. We bought an awning so it has extra storage for bikes, boots, furniture and it makes for a really useful space when we are there. I wouldn’t want to give it up now!

Fantastic weather in Hebden Bridge too. Went up Ragley and over to Gorple then back into Hardcastle Craggs. Climbed out of the Craggs and then backwards along the same route. Saw loads of bikes and walkers, people were making the most of the good weather.

Stopped at the top of Hardcastle Craggs for a cereal bar. Nice to not have to wash mud off the bike after the ride as well!

Me and our kid were out on hardtails this morning in Hebden Bridge and they were perfect for the loop we did. 1x drive trains and no linkage is perfect until the trails are dry. He’s a weight weeny so rigid carbon forks and no dropper. I like my suspension and dropper too much to give em up.

Mike Brewer gains a new co-host as Edd China leaves Wheeler Dealers

Shame, I liked Edd. Will see how it works with Ant.

I fitted Trace 140’s to my Zero AM and the forks are great. Buttery smooth and stiff enough for pennine trails. They were left over from a FF29 I sold so I thought I’d give them a try on the Bird. Glad I did!

I’ve had hans damp 2.35 in my anthem. Front and rear, no issues. Set up tubeless and fitted on wide lightnings too so they run on low pressure and with a fat profile.

The ceo is one of the positions that I would really want some of the best in. It’s the key leadership role of the organisation.
How are the supply chain ripping people off? Big paharma are not rolling in cash from drug development these days.

I agree you want good people running these facilities but do they need to be paid £400K plus? More than double the PM’s salary?

Supply chain is a lot more than drugs/pharma. Stationary, definitely overcharged (and signed up to long contracts), cleaners, caterers, maintenance, logistics etc etc. In such a big organisation every small overspend ends up adding to a huge amount overall. Which is why I want a better performance from those managing the budgets.

What about cutting the salaries of the chief exec’s and stopping the supply chain from ripping off hospitals and doctors surgeries. This issue has two sides, it needs proper funding but it also need s good and responsible management. I feel we are part way on the first step but a long way off the second and until that’s addressed we are just putting more and more money into the hands of people that waste it on our behalf.

Here’s mine, 29er Trace forks on a 27.5 frame. Lot’s of tyre clearance. :-) A-C is 540mm and Bird recommend 542mm so all good.

Stick the 27.5 wheels in your existing parkwood and save your money to fund a new back wheel/axle. I run 29er forks on my Bird Zero (It’s what I had available) and they work perfectly with 27.5 wheels.

Depends what parts you already have. If you have better components than you get on a £1000 complete then I’d buy a frame and build from my parts. Which is what I just did. I had to buy a frame, headset and brakes. Total cost was £677. I had everything else.

If I had some parts but not all, then I would buy the complete and swap out my parts and sell the new components to part fund.

Looking good but here’s a tip: you also need wheels

Good spot, they’re in the garage. Wide lightnings. There’s a chain, gear shifter and some grips too. :-)

I’m stalled on the build. The headset I had in my parts bin is the wrong type so I’ve had to order one. Everything else is good to go though. So not as much progress today as I’d hoped for.

IMG_1833 by Paul Harrison, on Flickr[/img]

The rest of todays parts are lying on the floor waiting to be fitted.

I have XT cassette (11-42), Praxis chainring, KMC chain, XX1 shifter and XX1 rear mech. It works perfectly.
