The plastic bottles for shampoo, conditioner etc are easily recycled. We can put them in our recycling bins at home. It’s not the material that’s a problem it’s the misuse/littering. Paper and other alternatives have just as many flaws as using plastic.

I ordered the Aldi one today. Figured at £350 it’s worth a punt. I have been wanting a bbq/smoker to replace my knackered kettle bbq and pitmaster on youtube uses kamado joe’s so they were on my radar. But a grand is hard to justify. Anyone know how long it takes Aldi to deliver after ordering?

Another documentary about Madeleine on youtube. Still a lot of questions to be answered. Particularly about the McCanns political connections and campaign funding.

Buy the stem and some new bars and sell the old stuff will be your cheapest option.

Let’s hope the (predicted) global warming melts all these snowflakes. :) Students these days seem so lame and precious. I’m guessing it’s all about litigation potential rather than genuine interest in welfare and equality issues.

These clamps look bigger than yours. 90mm wide. If you drill some new holes maybe that will work for you.

I’ve had one since March and very impressed with it. The suspension balance between front and rear makes you faster everywhere and it tackles technical climbs without any drama. The handling and suspension increase confidence on descents too and the plush suspension gives plenty of grip. I like the straight-line design of the frame and the build quality helps to justify the price tag as it is flawless. Pennine hills and UK trail centres are where I do most of my riding and it has been the perfect choice so far.

Thanks for the help. Now I know they’re meant to be changed after removal, and not saved to be reused, I will order some.

Is the mounting hole a tube? Can it be drifted out? I don’t have replacements at the moment so was hoping to get them out in good condition.

We have a thule 925 velocompact for the wife car. Easy to fit with a clamp on to the towball, it locks and has a tilt so you can access the boot or open hatch. Wide wheel trays to take 2.6/2.8 tyres and good quality ratchet straps for the wheels. I got it here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Thule-925-VeloCompact-Towbar-Mounted-2-Two-Bike-Cycle-Carrier/281676030180?hash=item41953320e4:g:aQoAAOSwDuJWzukD

Cannondale supersix with sram red 10 speed from around 2012. Cost £1400 from eBay.

It weighs 7.3kg or 16.09lb which feels featherweight compared to my mtb’s.

The rebound damping is semi working. The compression damping not at all. It’s rideable but no lockout and a bit spongey. Better than no riding though. ;)

Gotta have the Byrds in there, covering a Dylan song. What could be more 60’s!

    How about a 2019 Trance 29 for €3800?

I’ve never had the rails come off the car but I had a bike fly out of the Thule 591 carrier and into a field on a bend. The carrier was over ten years old and on inspection the ratchet strap teeth had rounded and offered very little security. Once they worked loose the design of the 591, with the open jaw that clamps the downtube, couldn’t hold the frame on it’s own. I have bought new 598’s and this have a wrap-around jaw and better ratchet straps compared to the 591.

For anyone with a 591, I would recommend checking the straps and making sure you have an “edge” on the teeth to prevent the same happening to you. As I could see the reason for the failure it doesn’t concern me carrying bikes on the roof, I just check everything is in good condition more often.

The bike was a Bird Zero and the damage was a cracked carbon handlebar, a bent reverb and torn seat. I got off lightly due to it landing in a field upside down. Ally bars and seat from the parts drawer, a brand x dropper and I was riding it at the weekend with no issues.

Update time. The superstar ring arrived and fitted the cranks with a nice snug grip on the lugs. Weight was 47g which is lighter than my shimano ring and the narrow wide profile looks secure in the chain links.

Went for a ride in Dalby this morning on a mix of red and blue trails and the drivetrain was perfection. No dropped chain or skipping gears and the shifts felt crisp and fast. In summary I would recommend this chainring to anyone looking for a replacement for their M9000/9020 cranks as at £30 and made in the UK you can’t go wrong.

I’ve gone for the superstar. £30 and made in the UK. I’ll put an update on here when I get it to review fit, quality and performance.

Thanks mda, I’ll take a look at Oneup. Its the fitting that concerns me due to the bolts and caps on the m9020 crank. I want to make sure it will fit before I buy. I need a 32T but thanks for the offer.

I was working at the weekend so had today to ride instead. Turned out to be a good deal as Dalby was in great condition and quiet too. It was new bike day too with a maiden ride on my Pivot mach 5.5.

    Definitely not “best films” but 3 I enjoyed were;

    Logan
    John Wick 2
    American Made

Mindless escapism is my preference it seems…

They’re not all unused dezb. The SS, bulldog reissue and gashead have not been ridden but the others are used and cleaned up for hanging. The viking is still used but the photo was taken about 10 years ago.

I was tidying the garage earlier so popped my Trance advanced 1 on the scales. Includes pedals but non-standard wheels/tyres. Size medium 26.5lb.

28lb for the OP’s ally trance with all his carbon and no dropper is realistic in my view.

I ride a medium zero am having come from a medium anthem 27.5. The medium bird frame is perfect sizing for me at 5’9″. I use a shorter stem (50mm) on the bird compared to 70mm stem on the anthem. The slacker geometry is the main difference I noticed switching between the two bikes not the reach measurement.
