A blatant attempt at harming the cyclist, I would have to get revenge, maybe not today maybe not tomorrow but hey it would be worth the wait.

Well its interesting that a lot of people have no insight into road riding, mind it is STW.
The van clearly pulls out deliberately in front of a cyclists, then trys to hit him.
Police should take action against the driver, if they did so more then it would make CYCLING safer for all.

Edit:- having watched it again its all the cyclists fault, he isn't wearing any gloves.

The thing you may not want to think about but could be the case……

You were unconscious before you fell off the bike.

Happened to a friend of mine a couple of times, it was only when it happened when he was walking and didnt have a helmet on that he was diagnosed. Sorted now.

Wont say what it was as its several things it could be, I'll leave that to the consultant.

Why don't you ask this on a roadie forum? I don't think SINGLETRACK has anything to do with road bikes.

    +1

You should have stopped just before SINGLETRACK

    1. Provenance: Has to be Italian, or at least have Italian kit on it.

I have some Marzocchi forks, you can **** right off

    2. Paintwork: Must, ideally, be foul or irredeemably naff.

Has to be red everyone knows red bikes are faster

    3. Team Kit: Now, this is important. You can't go around in a pink Bianchi jersey on a Pinarello, you'll look like a right dog's breakfast.

I have a Fox top also 2 Race Face tops, do they make bikes ?

Distinct lack of knowledge on SWT about the highway code, fits in with most stuff on here.
Oh and the principle of slipstreaming, whilst I'm at it ;-)

Try riding SPDS in trainers with no cleats.

This just proves SPDs are useless.

Try getting home, still pedalling your bike, with a damaged leg with flats, **** useless

All this thread is proving that if you hit your head against something hard when either your head or the "Something" is moving a helmet saves more serious injury.

If you can quantify the risk of it happening and its low don’t wear a helmet

If it’s high probably best wearing one.

On a salutary note, my Aunt died through a head injury out walking her 2 dogs, they bolted unexpectedly and pulled her over hitting her head on the pavement.

I have done my own personal research on Helmet wearing.

I never use to wear one for about 40 years, started riding off road and realised I came off more than on the road so after a few near misses took to wearing a helmet off road.
Occasionaly rode my road bike without a helmet until one morning 7 years ago, as a last minute thought I put it on for a ride.

    Lesson 1
A car hit me from the side [just pulled out] I woke up with the police ambulance in attendance. Needless to say a Met helmet [Tested to Snell] was totaly destroyed.

    Lesson 2
Riding out with a bunch on the road and some kind soul held a gate [on a gated road] open for us, I was on the outside at the front and when he let it swing closed it neatly dropped me on the road head first. Out cold for 20 seconds or so. Destroyed another helmet again a Met.

Those 2 occasions have convinced me that to not wear a helmet where there are objective dangers is foolish.

Whan the dangers are subjective I often dont bother wearing a helmet, this also applies to when I'm climbing.

dales rider yes very wrong indeed
242000 sqaure km is equal to 242000000000 square metres. That about just under 4000 square metre per head.

So a patch of about 63 x 63 thats about as much as I've got already :-)
