I really don’t think so! You keep living in fantasy land while jerking off at the keyboard!

Ha insults now, you must be one of them there southern lot ATGNI
I’d post some pictures to show you but from the race numbers you’d then know who I really am. So till you venture up North start getting those skills honed so as not to be left behind.

Mr Willow I think if you knew me your opinion would change, if ever your up this way maybe just maybe I will use my Hope brakes just enough to slow down so as you can stay on my wheel.

‘Appen thats why mine last so long, dont use em much.

XT’s are great well the new ones are as are the New Hope EVO XC.

dales rider – the lever blade is riveted to the body – or it certainly is on the 3 pairs of shimanos ive got in my house but they are not current models. Saints, XT and servo wave Xts

So its as I said then £35 for a lever with a free reservoir thrown in.

BTW you can change the lever the part number for a new XT lever is Y8VC98030 or Y8VC98040 RH and LH.

    OLDER STUFF

So how much is a Shimano lever and where do I get one from ?

    CRC maybe

Do you have a link ?

    http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=67211

    Yes but no but yes

    £35

I was told by someone, Think it was a willowing Pussy, that I was inept because all I want is a lever.
£16 for just a lever for Hope.

So they must be a lot cheaper than the £16 for a Hope lever, but where from ?

    Two questions:
DR – what he hell is that all over the top of the stove and around the flue?

Around the flue is fire cement bit of a leakage thing going on.
Top of the stove is missing enamel, wife has a habit of opening the bottom and forgetting she has done it. Result is a hot stove, in fact if the light is off it glows red.

Nobby shut it, if they [Shimano] sold parts as they show on their website it would be a different matter.

BTW remember I know where you live.

    you in the industry too?

and isnt that just the lever and not the full shibang…

1./ Not in the industry, Im an engineer [electro-mechanical electronics]
2./ Yes with HOPE thats the point snap a lever change it
3./ As for all the bleeders on here, I’ve never done it. If you know what you are doing there is no need.
4./ Reason for brake fade was I bought shit pads, so that makes Shimano brakes shit ? or me stupid ?

    Who messed up the tiling?

Me I had to take it all out a few years ago, bstard jackdaw built a nest in the chimney, even had to break into the chimney breast to take out all the twicgs and stuff.

I love the ineptitude of some of the peeps on here, Typical example

    pussywillow – Member

I crashed into a tree a few week back and snapped my shimano xt lever, I was really surprised at how cheap shimano parts are! £35 for the lever unit!! Had that of been hope I bet I’d be lucky to get change from £100!

Fact £36 for a shimano xt lever £16 for a hope.

BTW I run maintain Shimano Hope and Avid. Only brake fade I’ve had is Shimano, worse ones to set up Avid, easiest to bleed Hope.

I’m going to have to sell all my hope stuff before it fails.
    So open to offers on
Brakes Pair C2s, pair M4s, pair stealth race Evo X2s
    5 sets of wheels:-
2 pairs XC Hubs mavic rims, pair pro2 hubs mavic rims, pair non disc pro 3s open pro rims and a pair Pro 3 sp-xc3 with Stans rims.
Last set of wheels are probably very near point of failure as they have an 85 kilo weight limit and I come in at over 90 kilos. Assorted skewers seat clamps, headsets, lights and BB sets also available. Oh and a seat post.

What happened to the planned 24 / 12 hour event at Bramham Park Nr Leeds that was scheduled last year. I’m sure that would be an excellent venue, mind it may be like Catton Park and lacking any real difficulties.
The Dirty Dozen held at Gisburn last year was more like an MTB course TBH.

The only criticism I have is the cut grass, I’m still pulling it out of the gears.
Our 2 teams did well, in fact had the A team entered in the Expert Mens they would have claimed 2nd place on the podium.
Everyone had personal achievements from the race, which is what its all about.
Me at coming up 58 I’m not going to win but passing Expert Males up hill is for me an achievment :-)

    A 50lb Hardtail.

Coming up midday, not many left, the grass was faster :-)
