One vehicle to consider is a Galaxy/Sharon/Alhambra
The only vehicle I have owned that fits 4 people and 4 bikes with the wheels still on.

Had a 1991 Range rover 2.5 TD from 1995 to 2005. If I could find one similar in good nick that would be my choice or a SWB Landy.
The Disco a nice gas guzzling 4.0 V8 could get anything up to 22 mpg and as low as 9 mpg. Nice ride but I dare not tell you the cost of some of the repairs it had.
    Well go on
    Ignition modules and leads £800
Suspension, self leveling ACE, another £700

    Shall I go on ?

    Bit of engineering I’d guess.
Measure outside of rotor to top of pad friction material.
    Pad out
Place pad on rotor, look through rotor and mark position of arm.

Mind dont know how Nick did it, working a tape measure is a difficult thing for him 😉

The first thing they have to do is prove who was driving the car, I think you cant be “Fined” for something you didnt do. The DVLA gives info out on who its registered to not who parked it, there is a lengthy article somewhere on the net about not paying google and see.

Dales rider Im a 100kg teddy bear!

Marginally heavier than me, having had Fox, Magura, and Mazzies I went back to Rock Shox after a 18 year gap. Now running Sid RLTs and Rev XX X-locs, cant fault them.

    How does your headset feel?

Guess the same as Ashley, hates the judder and thinks its about to die.

Unless they are at least 200 mm rotors on the front you WILL die, judder or not

L ache good point, we skied a day last weekend at Morzine as it was snowing heavily, so lots of snow there. Saturdays pass is a bargain at 24 Euros as well 🙂

I’m going to Morzine on the 23rd of Feb so that’s as good a reason as any not to go to Avoriaz…

Eh, why would you go to Morzine and not ski Avoriaz ?

Kind of what I was saying, think the ‘dynamics’ of a van (like the T5 above and my T4) are different to those of a car

(like the golf in Matt’s video) so behave differently with tyre combinations.

(if you don’t drive like a tool)

True, I did step the back end out on a roundabout that was just about sheet ice but that was just putting the power down a bit harsh and too soon, EDIT:- driving like a tool

I can assure you that 2 winters on the front and 2 good tyres on the back work, having just driven back from skiing.

1 week in Chamonix, 5 days in Avoriaz, several times up at 4,000 feet+ and a 500+ mile drive back crossing the Jura [Lelex route de cret] with snow in the Haute Soane with several inches overnight in Luxeuil-les-Bains, The Vosges and Ardennes even in Holland with cars having difficulty in car parks.

Some where near St Claude 1200m

Spent Monday driving through the Jura, ace roads made easier with a set of Michelin Aglis Alpine tyres. 600 miles on the snow over the last 2 days.

Just to add something of interest that happened on the last days skiing in Avoriaz.
2 Boarders who were descending a piste together crossed paths in front of my missus, they collided with heads hitting one came off worse than the other without helmets it may have been a different outcome.
Me I sometimes will not bother with a helmet skiing or biking as for climbing I never bother. Thats my choice I know the risks and manage them but as there are more and more near misses skiing with skiers who dont know how to behave on the slopes it may be I will from now on always wear one.

Interesting film on tonight in Chamonix, Summits of my life Kilian Jornet. They talk of risk management, not analysis.
If you havent seen it to give a flavour amongst other things he traversed Mont Blanc from Courmayeur to Chamonix in about 8 hours.

    NOT A HELMET IN SITE

Dicks tea bar is the spot to head for in Meribel, also for apres ski the Rondpoint up by the altiport. Ski back after lifts have shut, good fun 🙂
In mottaret theres a cheap bar just before the bus turn around spot, where you finish your skiing, cant rmember its name but it has a giant black nd white cow outside with a big bell around its neck.

Roads are currently fine in the Alps, driven up and down the Chamonix valley all week even up to Le Tour. OK there is snow on the roads but everything is on snow tyres or chains.
Will be popping into Avoriaz tomorrw also the Company Daughter works for Has been moving people all week from Cham to Geneva with no problems.

Fact most skiing injuries are in the car park.
This was certainly true yesterday, daughter trapped her fingers in my bike rack which doubles up a a ski rack.
BTW she had a helmet on 🙂

Seems like its a “Risk analysis” for even the top skiers/boarders. Just the same for MTBing if I was riding along the canal towpaths around where I live maybe not bother with a lid, single track through forest such as Stainburn I wouldnt ride without one.
Yesterday venture through the trees there was a lot of short crags and trees very close steep ground and stuff coming down from mate skiing above and right, didnt need the helmet but who knows might of done.

Two days ago skiing with first skier to ski down the North face of the Midi skiing off piste with no helmet, guess he thought it well within his abilities bit like me on a towpath.

So allegedly is this, but I cant get it to work

Stem’s to short and bars are to high. Possibly.

No at 120 its just right, could it be any thing to do with the 95 kilos it has to carry ?

Well a lively debate, wore mine for the first time today.
It keeps head slightly cooler with vents open
Taking it off for a beer, its cold when you put it back on
Didnt really notice it there as its fairly light
Banged my head getting a bubble, forgot it sticks up more
No real issues so if it savesme in the odd crash alls good.
