A Strada is good had one for 2 years until the speed sensor broke, seems the plastic went brittle.
So a 2 year life, £45 + £27 for each extra bike [ I have 5 ] doesnt do cadence or Heart Rate. May as well get This

Why not buy a modern van that goes better, handles better, and does more to the gallon ? I dont get the fascination with old veedub vans

Yes thats what I thought, so a T5 was my choice, I want to be able to get where I want to in comfort. I didnt want to spend a lot of tome tinkering and trying to keep a vehicle running, that time is lost. So a modern vehicle capable of 100+ [Germany only of course] and 35+ mpg if I keep it to legal limits.

Me in Leeds would have to go to the Midnight Bell or if you dont fancy the walk then try the Brewery Taps. Thats if your looking for a good pint and good food not to pricey.

£8,000 is a lot for a 22 year old vehicle, personaly I’d buy a later model Van and convert it. I did.

Some people are so cock sure of themselves

Not cock sure of myself just aware of what I am doing. If the traffic gets crowded I stop talking to observe what is going on around me. If the conditions dictate then I’ll end the conversation just like I would if I had a passenger in the car.

Nope I was right the first time.

please tell me what I’m doing wrong?

You sound like a rider who doesnt use his brakes, a pure menace on the roads charging around at break neck speeds putting all the other road users at risk and depriving component manufacturers of a good living. 😉

Set up correctly disc brakes are very precise as to where the rotor/frame/caliper are. I can quite happily swap wheels on two of my bikes.

I’m still unsure of the neutral service and wheel swapping implications of disc brakes in the pro peleton. Totally unsure how they’ll sort that successfully.

Just the same as they do now with different gear options, SRAM Shimano Compagnolo Carbon rims Alloy rims etc.

Maybe the disc brakes should come with a warning

    “For competent cyclists only”

Me I’d buy a road bike with discs if only to be able to ride it with slight buckles in the rims and the stronger lighter rims that will be available.

Take it then that its an online purchase, not that up on exotic bikes

Take plenty of spare tubes and a spare tyre.

Air is the spring and nothing to do with the shock absorber part which uses oil and yes you are right there should be a significant difference between “Open” and “Propedal”
I’d pop back to the LBS

Through experience I know that talking on a hands free kit is dangerous. Its enough to distract you from concentrating and taking in all the things that are going on around you.
I managed to say, just before I hit the other car, “best go I’m just about to crash”

I bought some cheap bulbs, still waiting for them to flower and that was 2 years ago, mind I did touch them with my fingers could this be the reason ?

That’s funny, yesterday you frowned upon the purchase of budget bikes over on the other channel….

No I said people would laugh at you, riding Sora

Stick with 9 speed. Everything component is cheaper and you won’t notice the difference. I went with 10 speed and every time I have to replace bits I wish I hadn’t when I see the prices of the 9 speed stuff.

Not strictly true, if you compare SLX and above quality 9 and 10 speed are the same price and in some cases the 9 speed is more expensive.

5 years ago and 5 posts, now its 39 posts, just shows once a statement is made it becomes truth. Touchy lot on STW 🙂
Any ways I,m popping out on my expensive bike which, being an engineer, have just serviced, to ride by myself but hopefully bump into some Rad people who are into building budget bikes.

I’m about to go 10 on the rear as I need to change cassette and chain so throwing in a mech and shifter isnt much more, be still running a triple 22-32-44 up front and to be different a road cassette on the back.

Did the OP not see the “post a photo of you” thread?

Considering that a significant number of people on that thread look like they are very probably “doing time” for, at the very least, a couple of cases of GBH, i’d be wary of peturbing them………….

I dare not post a picture of me on that thread, as it will lead to a ban [again].

No. The only major difference is that you cannot use Powerlinks to take chain on and off for cleaning.

    Oh but yes you can
