Using T’s and tube should be an easy job to make yourself, could probably do it using 22mm compression fittings. I take it its for standing bikes up in back of car/van.
I used a short piece of this

    plus 4 of these

Me same as Sanity, why because they are good wheels and the previous ones [Mavic open pro’s Ultegra hubs] the rims have worn out.
As for a winter bike I believe the ruling is :-
“After 2 years your summer bike becomes your winter bike and a new bike is bought in that winter for the summer.”

So please obey the rules and just wait

Well if I ever convert a van again it would be a long wheelbase VW
Probabley first thing to do would be a pop top with bed, somewhere to sleep straight away.
Then worry about the rest, LWB its a tight fit with a SWB.
Proper VW track system (or othher vans system) to put a vehicle specific crash tested R+R bed in.
Now before you start look up the complexities of running a van and all the implecations (tax insurance speed limits ferry costs)and look up having it re registered as a campervan. Oh and if you insist on a high top just have a peek around at all the places with 2 metre barriers you’ll be barred from.

First things first, just like buying a bike, test drive the vans first. Its a lot to spend if you hate driving it.

I was looking at a Scott CR1 3 years ago and took the brave descision to go with an Addict.

I can do 80 miles + a day and its comfy so on that basis try a Scott Foil and leave the CR1 till you are a bit older 🙂

Selective use of words for what ?

Everybody use to be able to be Gay now some people just cant be.

Marriage, well I’d say the use of the word “Marry” is to meld together two dissimilar “Things”

So use the words Gay Marriage, as most “Non Gay” people are not now getting married.

Dont give a flying **** really

Lezyene Macro drive bought in a set £80 ish, I use them for my riding 2-3 hours unlit roads. Front was bought as back up light for a Hope Vision 2 which it makes redundant.

Thanks everyone but was really hoping for personal experiences and recommendations.

An hour out of Rochdale ?
Thats why not many people are giving personal recommendations, be a bit more adventurous and put the van to its proper use, otherwise you may as well just have day visits into the Manchester urban sprawl

Dales rider. More photogenic not to have riders kitted out like imperial storm troopers.

True but more easy to ride, pads were not something I even considered when I headed for the first time to the Alps with my MTB. Now if I was doing up lift and tear arsing down a hill then yes. However most of my ride time was spent pedaling up never ending slopes in temperatures that would make a sauna seem cool, or getting pi55ed on whilst descending never ending hairpin single track where speed is not an option.
    You’ll love it 😀
    Whatever your choice.

A quick check of BV’s photos would show that mostly no pads.
Bit like XC riding over here just more of it so unless you are clumsy/poor rider why bother ?

As well as the Vango I also would recommend
Jack Wolfskin Wild Country or if its a “King Arthur’s Palace” Cabanon

Yep buy a good tent if you are going to “carry on camping” bit like buying a bike really a poor one and you tend not to ride it.
My oldest tent is a Vango force 10 Mk5 bought in 1976 and still OK, new flysheet in 1989 and a couple of new poles/A connectors.

    Yep,sorry, that’s what I meant to say

No worries its quite difficult to put a thing you know how to do in words, easier to show someone.

Easygirl fraid you’re wrong. Read again what I said, but just add squeeze the brake lever thats what moves the “Lagging” piston out.

    Dales_rider
    Free Member

You dont touch the pistons, you press the pad back plate on the opposite side of the pad thats contacting the disc first.
This presses the pad up against the rotor, flexes the rotor and pushes the opposite pad [the one thats contacting first] and therefore pistons in.
Small bits at a time till the rotor isnt flexing when the brakes are applied.

I’d have to ask Greg why did you cross the wake and when you hit trouble at least cut the throttle.
