All very subjective, as it depends on the rider and bike.

Driving around in a T5 its amazing what you see, shame the Police cant do similiar it would get the message across, then the Insurance companys need to sting those who are caught with a good bit of press coverage problem would dry up.

bordering on throwing up, at some point on most rides

    Why?!!!

Too much to drink half way around 🙂

If you own the land over which the easement exists, theoretically you can have the doors opening outwards, just the same as you could put gates either end of the easement if you wanted to.
Easement on foot is the right to pass and repass at will opening gates is fine as would shutting your doors if open.
The question is would you really want to have them opening out and how upset would you be if everyone along the alley did the same, an obstacle course of french doors ?
Why not speak to the neighbor ?

43 and started to have irregular heart rhythms while exercising earlier in the year,

Same here Monkey, its was a few year’s ago for me so I like to keep an eye on how hard I push the old ticker when on a ride.
Its always good to know whats going on as I have a fairly large range 46 – 200 but like to keep it under 180.

To avoid boredom / stress related injuries I usually alternate between rowing and cycling 5ish days per week. When I row, it’s usually for no more than 40ish minutes doing intervals at 80% – 85% HRM . I cycle for circa 2hrs and it averages circa 75% but I’d usually always briefly push it to 90% – 100% on every ride.

Do you actualy know your HR max ?
Very rare to hit 100% on a ride you’d be on the floor……..
I tend to ride at about 140 average and just about every ride hit 80% 180 if I get close to my max its “Eyepopping” time, BTW 58 so you may survive another 18 years 😉

Road 10 speed cassettes are narrower than MTB AFAIK.

Funny thing is I dont remember anything special for camping with the kids except a bigger tent.
Oh and why wait till they are 3 ? This was our 2 some where in Germany

a few years later somewhere in France

Never had any problems, in fact kids camping is an asset. When you were woken up late at night by drunks returning and making noise it was great sending the kids out to play with the pots and pans at 6:00 in the morning.

Sleeping bag at least as good as yours and if its too long a belt around it to stop them disappearing.

I’ve just had a “ride” flagged, I left the Garmin on after leaving Gisburn. Funny thing is I was driving fairly quick and there was a lot of segments I got KOM on, the first 5 to 10 were similar times so they must of done them in a car 🙂
Leaving it on after Strava asked if it was correct, after all it was a road ride 🙂 🙂

Does anyone else find they keep punching themselves in the stomach with their kneecaps?

Nope it rests on the thighs throughout a revolution and a slow cadence sets up a nice ripple effect

I run a triple on both my current road bikes 52/39/30 with 12-25 I live in the Dales am a fat old Bstard and managing 98% of the hills only ones to stop me in the last year have been Park Rash which is 25% for a bit of its 5 miles of climbing and the infamous killer mile of Mow Cop.
    If I was going double I would get a 52/39 with a 12-30 or for closer ratios a 50/36 with a 12-30

I have a X King (newish 2.2 folding) that has been thrown in the back of the shed in disgrace as it just wont sit on the bead. Tried on about 10 rides, it was ok on the front for a few but at least 6 out of 10 it would spin on the rim and sheer of the tube valve one ride involved three dead tubes and a walk home.

Thats exactly why mine went back, credit to All Terrain Saltaire who just replaced them and sent them back

Last pair of conti’s’went back and replaced by Maxxis.
Conti road tyres have reputation as good tyres but all recent punctures on club rides have been Conti.

Ooops am I must pop and tell my bikes that, oh and I guess OP was watching carefully when it failed but hey ho not my bike and not my problem.
As for how the B screw can alter chain length well I’ve a lot to learn, in fact I’ll go put some links back in my mates chain and tell him you cant stop the jockey wheel touching your cassette because your b screw is turned to the max, you’ll just have to put up with it.

Oddly enough I run a very short chain on one road bike and if I attempt through stupidity to put it in the big rings front and back it just wont go.
Fact is with a short chain there is no way the mech can touch the cassette, its stretches it [mech] out horizontally away from the cassette, I could take some pictures to show but cant be arzzed
However a to long chain and the jockey wheel can touch the cassette and wow betide you if you go little rings front and back.
Now just suppose the chainstay snapped first, worth considering IMHO
