    3 x 10

A 1 x 10 gives such crap ratios jumps you can only select either a “Climbing” or “Flat” or “Downhill” setup.

Toll roads for me on the outward journey, really rather spend the few quid to not spend another day driving.

Not sure how slightly shorter route without using tolls and 2.5 hours more = 1 day, thats on an 8 hour journey where its going to cost £72 for tolls.

Some good ideas there, current one is a 6100 😳 Which I’ll be using when I give back my company Blackberry [which is crap]
It will be for occasional access to the WWW but mostly calls and texts.

Les Rhododendrons seems to be the place to hang out every time I’m there there’s plenty of armoured up DHers, probably just come off Flegere.

Hull – rotterdam/zeebrugge makes for a quicker crossing if you are in the North and heading Alps, mileage is less no tolls heading east and an overnights accomadation.
As a few of us have said head East and enjoy your travel spend the tolls on a nice meal makes it a lot better than “Thrasing the toll roads” just to get there.
Try looking at taking in the Black Forest as a stop it only adds a few miles.with a bike it gives you a taste of germany cake nad all 🙂

Interestingley I’ve hit 180 stood still, soloing a 30 foot gritstone classic on smears with no positive holds and the crux at the top.

You’ll fit in always lots of people with DH bikes all kitted up in armour hang around in Cham, so take your DH bike and do the same.

Being old enough to remember a lot of changes in legislation, its funny to think that cycling on Bridleways was only added as an after thought, also that riding on footpaths was dismissed more on the basis of “Nah no one would want to” ass there wasnt such a thing as MTB’s’ Cyclist use to ride BOATS and RURPS as they were in good condition as 4x4ing as a “Sport” didnt exist.
So I ride anything I fancy as long as my impact is low also funnily enough its not against the law to ride the footpaths on my local moors 🙂

They talk nonsense, dont trust me either.
I head East Belgium Eastern France the motorways are free and from Calais the mileage is nearly the same use google maps to source a route when I hit the Alps Might do last 50 miles on Tolls

The 800 is a brilliant bit of kit, mostly for its mapping and ability to plan a ride and stick it on the device.
Done lots of rides this year abroad [germany holland and belgium ]where I didnt have a clue of the local area.
Dont bother getting the one with maps [unless you get it cheap] just download them from opensource.

Happens to mine, I just did a .7 km ride with it propped in the window at an average of 14.2 kph and a max of 52 kph

    😀
Mind its only picking up on average 2 to 4 satellites and very poor accuracy 38 feet !!

If I stick it outside where it picks up 7 satellites it stops thinking I’m moving.

    Michelin pro4 endurance

These seem to get mixed reviews – endurance not that great and not very grippy in the wet.
Some one I know runs a fleet of hire bikes in Majorca and swears by them, personaly I’d use the pro 4s the grip is about the best out there.

Got 5 KOMs on the road Sunday before last, it was flagged 3 times each time I ticked the “Trust me box”
That’ll have some people busting a gut to reclaim, fools if they dont have at least 140 bhp they are on a hiding to nothing 🙂

Like the video, I’m not quite that good.
Well I’m Sh1te to be honest but enjoyed it, the Manchester facility is well worth a visit and 47 would be a bit young to start

Nope no bleeding when shortening a hose, its quite an easy feat most people can do.
Maybe I dont boil brakes as I tend to use them as little as possible 🙂

I still fail to understand this desire to bleed brakes.
10 year old Hopes, 5 year old Hopes, 9 year old Shimano, year old Hopes, 7 year old Shimano all on bikes in use at my house.
Never had to bleed them even when shortening hoses.
    Never had them boil
Had the pads fade once [which is interesting) on a very hot day and a lot of heavy braking.
Only had dealings with 3 sets of Avids, they work but a pain in the arse to set up.

Daughter lives there and rides a 120 hardtail, I’ve used my 120 XC bike which was all I needed. Climbs well and handles everything the standard trails throw at you.
There is a local DH scene which has some excellent if not darn right dangerous descents, even some of the XC trails are bowel clenching.
There has also been a lot of late snow be aware.

I went through all the wheres and whats, bridge cameras are no better than compacts, they just have bigger lenses.
4/3 are betterert but not as good as a DSLR now when it comes to which of those to get everyone has their favourites so good luck with choosing.
Me I,m trying to decide if the Canon 700D is worth £100 more than the 650D or should I save the £100 and put it to a decent lense
