    Head to the local cafes
Country Kitchen waddington or the Old vicarage at Tosside or the tea rooms Bolton By bowland. Find them and you will have found some good routes to get there

My bike climbs well, heres part of the reveiw:-

“This all adds up to a remarkably light package; at 7.17kg for the complete bike it’s within a couple of hundred grams of the UCI limit. That’s impressive for a bike with this level of kit, but not unexpected when paired to the ****** frame, which shaves plenty of weight through some clever touches like the use of carbon dropouts and even a carbon fibre front mech mount.

The ****** wears its racing heart on its sleeve, with a shallow head-tube and long top-tube combined with a slacker than standard seat-tube leading to a shorter wheelbase. Out on the road the ******’s racing prowess is very evident. That long top-tube and the layback seatpost put you over the rear and in the prime position to really get on top of the standard 53/39 gearing. The low overall weight makes climbing almost fun and despite the standard double we never felt the need for lower gearing, even on the hills on our test route where we’re normally reaching for them.

You’d expect a frame with such little weight to be found wanting when it comes to sprints, but it’s worth remembering that a certain **** ********* made his name winning aboard an ******. The Manx Missile didn’t have any issues with it on his way to his multiple stage wins, and neither do we, especially with the way it responds under power. In fact we absolutely love the way it reacts. The shorter wheelbase and sharp steering makes it easy to throw around, yet the long reach and over-the-rear weight make descending a joy too.

So there you see what makes a climbing bike, trouble is it doesnt appear to work for me when climbing 🙁
However the descents thats a different story 🙂

Convert and use up the tyres you have, I find [generally speaking] if you cant get the tyre to seal/seat on the rim with a track pump it aint going to stay on when riding.
Worse thing is when out riding and you loose all your air, stick a tube in and finish the ride.

There should be a set of rules for MTBing, like the rules for Road Riding[/url]
Rule 5 would be in there.

Dont bother with a bleed kit, bleeding brakes is a waste of time and a ball ache.
Empty the system and just fill it back up using a syringe and plastic tube.

Not sure how with the crown solid and a wheel attached you could break the bridge, unless there was a casting defect.
Insist on sending them back for inspection.

A waste of time if you dont clean your rotors first to remove the transfer layer created by old pads.
You need a nice long hill, warm the brakes up by “dragging” then do a handful of fast nearly stops.
Idea is to put an even layer on the rotor to match your pads, it will help stop judder and squeal.

    Get a solicitor
    He will then sort it.
If they are trying it on they will not take it to court
If ony the other hand they want to prosecute then you’ll end up with statements being sent to solicitor, the cost of police attending court and the likelihood of a big fine costs and the solicitors bill.
At this point plead guilty and its still ost you more than the MTFU
    Option.

I use one scoop a year on from starting with tubeless and it seems OK.
Use a tube in the tyre first to pop the beads across, take it out one side leaving one bead still seatedm
Put valve in and seat second bead.
Remove valve core (if its a removable core) and using a syringe inject fluid
    Or
Take as little of bead of one side of rim and pour it in.

No not as often as suggested
Changing the oil in the lowers is a waste of tim on Fox if you dont give some thought to the foam “Oilers”

I was breathalyzed on entering Holland, straight off the ferry. It would appear to happen regular, as does the number of people they pull over.
The device they use is a multi use jobbie you dont actualy touch it just as they said “talk” to it. I think their translation was slightly wrong and they meant to say just “Breathe” into it

Do “Foreign” Motorbikes have the brakes the “Wrong” way around ?

No, the same way the LHD cars pedals are the same as RHD pedals.

So why the heck do they do it on bikes ?

The late great Sheldon had great knowledge on brakes.

1./ Skilled cyclists use the front brake alone probably 95% of the time
So a skilled cyclist would never go over the bars from grabbing the brakes which were wrong way around, they’d just drag the back wheel.

2./ The theory that seems most probable to me is that the national standards arose from a concern that the cyclist be able to make hand signals, and still be able to reach the primary brake. This logical idea is, unfortunately, accompanied by the incorrect premise that the rear brake is the primary brake.

For this reason, I set my own bikes up so that the right hand controls the front brake, which is not the norm in the U.S.

I also do this because I’m right-handed, and wish to have my more skillful hand operate the more critical brake.

it looks to me like it’ll defeat the seal on the air piston temporarily in the first part of the stroke, which will do two things, equalise the pressure on either side of the piston

Thanks good answer. But my thinking is sat on the bike 10% sag its way past the seal, so not sure then as to why it would be transferring anything once the initial stroke is made

Still wondering what its transferring and to where under normal operation

Takes it apart produces quick drawing, nope cant see one.

Now my early Triad does have a hole between the main air can and the one screwed on to increase the volume but its not a Negative chamber, any air going through the air piston into the “Negative chamber” would cause a lock down

    So whats it transferring ?

Float fluid in air can passing through transfer/neg port on initial part of the travel. No such thing in a Shock
Nitrogen leak yes as then you may get some cavitation in the shock part of the “Shock”
You dont say what type of Fox Shock it is, for instance a triad “Wheezes” when locked out and you hit a bump its the bit that shouldnt pass fluid through passing fluid through.

As above, anything like that is definitely fair game, without the need for any of the usual pussy-footing around (if you feel the need for any pussy-footing around). It is after all rather unlikely that the BW has incorrectly been classified too high by the parish who that bit is in.

I’ve never been accused of Pussy footing around 🙂

Living in the “Duke of Devonshires” land [he has mineral rights on my property 🙁 ] I have lots of conversations with the National Park wardens as to riding all over the moors, last one went something like this.
“Do you know you are not allowed to cycle on here”
    “Why”
    “Because its a footpath”
“No its not its a track and why cant I ride on it this bit of moor isn’t covered by the CROW act”
    “Its not ?”
“Nope its covered by a set of By-Laws and it says nothing about cycling, I cant fly a kite, light a fire or carry a catapult”
Out came the mobile their mobile phone
“By the way did you know that having an electronic device capable of playing music, which your phone is, is against the by-laws ?”
    Stunned silence for a while
“We will have to check when we get back”
“I suggest you do, and oh by the way the guy whose land you are patrolling set his gamekeepers on walkers who were on his land a while ago did you know that ?”
    “Nope”
“Don’t know much eh” as we rode off
