time to buy some new ones as back up. Try a clean and regrease my hope stainless lasted 3x shimano with a couple of regreases but non drive side failed after 2500 mile with two winters.Testing enduro in hope cups at the mo (crossing fingers as I live in a gritty area)

did not have that issue but I found you had to be carfull with the drive side because of the bb mounted front mech.It would try to 'missthread' the bearing cup

have a look better 15 mins at home than a long walk home. if the grease is washed away or dry around the springs they wont last long

if the spokes are clean and you can remove them, there is no need to replace them

needle bearings run on replacable strips (about every 2 years).Reset bearings every 5-10 hrs takes 6 mins including re-greasing.They realy do last forever ….if you dont powerwash

ChristoGinger dont think my pedals are holding me back at the moment I think my problem is technique and confidence.Tracknicko the only way I can get the rear up at the mo is with a bit of a pump, revolve on the pedals and hip thrust (hope that makes sence)will practice some more

just back from a ride bent knees check ,instep over axle check, look ahead ,more active ie pumping check …….much better (after shower checked bollocks slightly bigger)still a bit nervous about muscling the bike around though useing 510's and v8 so cant really blame kit. Will practice unweighing the rear wheel. Thanks for youre help all

yeah axel near arch ,and yes to unweight or in my world keep it with me, been bucked a few times which got my heart pumping I am thinking with flats you have to be more pro active about the terain maybe clips have lulled me into lazyness

Daffy is voicing my worry .Sherman totally wierd but suprisingly effective and easy to maintain .Have been building up but the transition between 2 foot and 3 foot is getting my heart pumping and no amount of telling my body to RELAX helps, thought practice would wear out the fear over time

rebuilt a suzuki x7 (250cc 2 stroke motorcycle) couldnt get it to start on the kick start. No bother I thought will just bump it down the hill.Severall sweaty pushes up and swearing downs I give it one last go, helmet gloves long since dicarded in a sweaty pool.Push to the top of a really big hill. Here I go youth and determination grrr face engaged run, run, run, jump side saddle bump style as I wasnt really expecting it too fire….. oh but it does and at full throttle .With a mixture of fear suprise and the heroic belief that the bike must survive I stupidly hung on to the bars the bike draging me along it on the back wheel me useing my knees to steer the bike before finnaly it gets away from me crashes into a car and totaling itself and badly bruising a neighbours car .Bad day bloody knees, broken bike and the neighbour shouting at me. turns out on rebuilding it I dislodged the throttle cable leaving the carbs wide open

have spoken to them and they do fit the hope cups so I may chance it they are about half the price of the hope replacement bearings so hope to get a year out of them

I think Hora is refering to the footpath sometimes known as Tron, someones been building 'stone' walls on the lower section for the last couple of weeks as well as putting up caustic no bike signs. Night riders watch out!

Been there but……….a minor off wont upset the dish poor tensioning might. Its a pretty inacurate method sighting down the head tube looking at a tyre,if the wheel is still true dont worry, it doesnt really effect the ride, just ride and smile more, concentrate on whats ahead

not worked on a stumpjumper but when fitting bearings I go the other way, lightly grease the bearing housing to prevent them 'siezing' together

watch the brake hose on the inside of the lefty as it may rub the tyre on full compression prefer to route on the outside (protect against rub)looks light and fast and new bike nice
