after rotating three chains etc etc got fed up .I know run my drive train for a year, then swap the lot when the idea of the chain snapping intrudes too much (steel front slx back )thats riding three or four times a week in the calderdale grit triangle. keeping it clean and lubed seems to prevent most suckage (?)
the names seem to depend on who you ride with but singletrack names …pecket b,dont know the next name is it the alternate way to the blue pig ?,blue pig, punch the wall into beech nuts
Mr. Zippy, out of interest did you change the damper from a manitou lefty ? if so how much did the pbr upgrade cost ? and who did it, been waiting to hear real world reports on the upgrade
local Calderdale rider (maxxis fan),Minion front is a good tyre in dusty conditions also, highroller a better all rounder (mud and silt) ,supertacky compound to be sure in the damp
go with noahs cheapest service around.Once done should be fine for a couple of years. They do work out economical. If youre handy with a micrometer try here http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?t=221683
its sata, windows was saying 2+0 this may mean 2 discs in raid 0.Its not mirrored its 2 discs whith the data split. My slight knolledge may have confused people sorry for that.Just wanted to know if a modern single disc would be close in performance to my dieing old ones. The samsung f3′ seem to get good reviews.Unsure about going back to what I have (raid 0)raid1+0 with 2x500g f3 may be the best thanks for youre time ………
cycling hurts my head way less
nearly sure they are sata, might be out by a year or two on age was thinking of removing the raid card and pluging the new drive into the mb (dell 8300)
Cougar…..thanks for reply
its 2x120g sata drives in a raid 2+0 array from an old promise ide card.
In the last two days I have had bad sector reports running xp feel nervous about reconfiguring the array …bit of a computer numpty so hope this info helps
had both my boys in a bobike like this one http://www.bobike.nl/products/en/bobike_maxi.htm?fluxmenu=m14____m3
(yours for something bikey)when young they didnt really like the bouncing around that much lower tyre pressure helped as did a cushion and a bag of sweets
I would rather it didn’t become a challenge. As DBW says its tough enough going down.I dont mind the walk and believe some things are ment to be walked
lakes ride would be top.my little off has left me with a cracked rib but it only hurts if I breath deeply or lift anything(was riding last night ).The car blew a front spring on the way home…..worth it though flippin great ride !
had a tired 09 rp23 pushed for a prophet……..made a BIG difference, firmer through the stroke for the same air pressure, no mushiness, lovely ! Great comunication and wasn’t made to feel an idiot.Top people
I have used Noah’ cheap and ok. Didn’t do well with tony shimming not so good he is hard to get hold of and fork still rattles :( also concider stendec if youre after tweaking the damping also the man from Evans suspention always been helpfull. For basic bearings and sliders try to do it yourself (need a micrometer)or Noah’s
try a uvex xp 100. Lighter, better venting and head coverage great retension system, loving mine. Ok with a light on top. Bought mine from Rutland (£50) took 2 days to arrive.
prophet……..they go cheeeep for what they do, a bit of flex in the rear but not a bad thing (in my opinion)love mine cant think of a sensible reason to swap it for anything else
my vote goes to tft good honest people ,easy to talk too.If youre shock is over 2 years old and ridden regularly then the damping circuit needs looking at.Its pricey but worth it, no point in having suspention if its not working for you
5ft 8 ride a medium prophet with 70mm stem low rize 700mm bars seatpost with 10mm layback mostly fine but longer rides (25 miles plus)wish the top tube was a smidge longer
I did , swapped lx levers for m775 and noticed ……….that it takes less effort and gave more feel and not just because of the fresh oil, as I keep my brakes as sweet as I can
wow those crossmax' are cheap.
Wheels will depend on intended riding and tyre width.Got a prophet tried 717' but a bit narrow with 2.35 highrollers. Now ride with home built 819' tough and stiff lovely for my local steep techy rock strewn terrain
