that looks like a steerer / conversion. My guess would be to start dismantling from the other end .

it is pretty much as you have said .For me its the bottom bearing that siezes to the steerer thats the one to watch, drift this off little taps and refit new.I have a piece of tube that acts as a drift to push the new bearing over the steerer(hope that makes sence)I fill my bearings with thick grease but still only get about a year out of the bottom bearing

    I use enduro max,
fill them with extra grease carefully (remove seal least exposed)
Every 3 months split and revolve pivot bearings to work in grease and reposition ball bearings
Its a faff but ride in a gritstone area with a crappy pivot system (cannondale rz)

Think you might have the top clamp for the lefty upsidedown ? Having owned an rz with lefty for a while I would advice you to keep an eye on the seat stay pivots the bolts can work loose and the bearings can become unstuck.Good fun bike I like mine.Shortest lefty stem is 80mm with about 5 degree rise though I think you would need a new steerer , still have to watch handle bar choice so it leaves the lefty top cap clear.Looks nice in the red enjoy (bear me in mind if you want to sell the lefty  )

moved from a prophet to an rz120 (with 140 fork) no regrets, great being able to feel the ground and pop off stuff for fun, still rides rocks etc. just takes a bit of finesse .Not sure I would recomend the rz as the bearing arangement is a bit iffy good cheap bike though

when I suffered the weeping seal it wasn’t untill the calipers started to heat up that power was lost .The discs usually self clean due to heat.It may be air in the line try taking pads out and heating them up over a gas flame ,if they are contaminated they will smell of burning oil.check that both pistons are equally out and fluid level in resevoir is ok ,bleed if old oil, and or tie the lever back to the bar to try and purge the air out of the line

Have a lurcher (greyhound /bull terrier) about that age ,hardned pads with mix of tarmac walks (3-5 miles a day) and tow path hard standing.Still gets lots of nicks from chasing things though ,he just loves to run !

lefty’s usually use 5wt fork oil .The bend in the plates is pre load for the bearings so fine

I nearly bought a set of them ,they were going for £220 new from germany but was put off by the non home servicable damper, has to be sent away to pace (nitrogen filled bit like a rear can)

In Calderdale here 40 0n the rear sounds a bit hi for me I ran them at 30 rear 25 front not that pingy or squirmy at that pressure (819′ on rocky ridge hardtail) but have been disapointed in there grip good enough on dirt but rock and roots ….found they let go in places maxxis didnt, fast rolling though. (any one want some 40 hr black chilli 2.2′ !)

as a rough guide I ride twice a week so about 8 hrs a week
every 2 weeks reset bearings, every second bearing reset check behind boot wipe and add small amount of grease to sliders(prep m),every 6 months oil change, every 2 years new bearings and reshim, bearing reset takes 10 mins, owned lefty’ 6 years ride in the Calderdale grit all year simple strong and robust fork (older coil sprung max tpc) enjoy

you could try and pick up a second hand lefty 140 max you could keep steerer wheel etc.(thought jekyl had a 130 lefty ? )If you are near Hebden I could look it over and see if its working fully .Have ridden lefty’s for years find the damping lets them down ,wheel build can make a difference too

took me a while to accept mine ,its different to a fox, the rebound adjustment only effects small bump stuff.I run it at 30 % sag and rebound one click from fast (rz 120) It does everything I need though it does get flustered on fast fist sized cobbly decents.(Though in truth that could be me)I like mine

Like most have said If you havent done a bearing reset start there, lefty’s need it regularly. Also if the damping oil runs low you can get a knock…look for oil around the bottom of youre fork boot

nice stand, I built one similar, I found wheel building a magical thing. Take youre time, tweak the tension when finished, a nice antidote to a busy family life.Still riding them after nearly two years, most satisfying…………enjoy !!!!

dont the bolts compress the bush so the bush doesnt move. The space around them shouldnt matter. Are the mount holes ok ? are you sure the movement is in the bush/bolt and not in the spacers/shock mount ?

lateo think the chimney wall that the dish is attatched to might on there side of the divide between the party wall (assuming the party wall divides in the centre of the wall)was looking for some advice as to ownership of that face of the stack, aP as to the pointing, I was never asked and would have preferd to do the the work myself (The pointing was fine anyway) looked like the roofer was finding himself some work to me !
