yes… the last 4, almost 5 years. i had 2 severe breakdowns in fairly quick succession and that killed any desire to take part in any sports. i am, however, just dipping my toes into bikes again.

@whitestone I want to demo one but it’s 4 hours away from me… tho I will make the trip rather than buy blind

I am a very hot sleeper, tho I have found myself a bit chilly a couple of times this year, I have found a silk liner solves that. Having looked at the phd stuff (I used to have a pair of mitts by them) I can’t currently afford both… let alone both made by them! 😁

I have an alpkit quilt which is great but I’m a very mobile sleeper. It’s going to be going in my motorbike panniers so I really want just the one thing rather than the half bag and jacket

All we need now is Hora to make an appearance, asking inane questions about the next Ellsworth/Santa Cruz frame he is thinking of buying…

i’m still waiting for an email reply about my chameleon frame from 6 years ago!

@esselgruntfuttock we looked at a 67 plate trail, I liked it but the boss didn’t, plus it’s only a 1.6 engine in a massive car so I didn’t think it would have the power. I REALLY liked the 520d but won’t make a decision till I’ve driven everything I can.

Well it has been decided… The Boss has put the deposit down on the Bailey Phoenix 642…. now it’s my turn to find a car for towing the bugger! Test drove a 520d the other day, hopefully getting in an XC60 today and booked a mondeo tomorrow….

@pick n mix I have messaged you too, I need something to kickstart me into weight loss as I am currently 3st over weight. Due to other mental health issues I have been off all forms of exercise, I would like to shift some lard before getting back to it as my joints are a bit buggered and don’t like hefting me around!

@molgrips our kids are 4 and 11…. pretty easy to deal with, plus we intend to have a decent size awning so we can separate the buggers when they get too much! 😁

@molgrips we looked at a 5 berth but didn’t like the layout. The boss is going back and is taking her aunt who is a very experienced cravanner… I get the depreciation, but this is likely to be the only one till we sell it for a 2 berth motorhome when we retire! 😁

Well we’ve been and had a look at a load of cars and and motorhome today. We are now definitely in the caravan camp, and have found the layout we like… now to find a car for me to tow it with!

I like the micro ones, but with the 2 kids and dog I think they’ll be a bit cramped, even WITH a big awning

Well I’ve been looking quite closely at the options. I will now be getting one…. I KNOW I will need to off my FS and Hybrid before I pull the trigger, but for bang for buck on a new bike, decathlon has everything beat! 😱 there will however be some good deals to be had on end of season stuff …. the search continues!

just looked at the rules and @molgrips you’re right…. however i would be happier getting the training as i have never towed anything unless it was attached to my bike! and i suspect that the Lady of the house will want something a bit bigger than usual!
