Wanna go touring now after reading all this, cant wait for it to get a bit warmer. I use racks and panniers but try to keep it all as minimalist as possible, not tried off road touring wi the panniers on yet, could be a plan for this year.

Anybody used sleeping tablets? What are your experiences? Good or bad?

I go to bed and it can be anything from 1 to 2 hours by the time i fall asleep, last night i went to bed at 11 but didn’t end up getting to sleep while half 1ish (checked phone after going to the bog).
I dunno whats up wi me, i’ve always taken a while to get to sleep, even as a kid, i find it hard to switch my brain off and drift off, as it were. I’m tired when i go to bed but cant seem to sleep.

Ive been toying with the idea of getting some tablets to see if they can help.

07 1.6HDi, brilliant van, great on fuel. Enough room in the back for 5 bikes wi their front wheels off. This is my second after racking up 70,000 miles on my first (an 03 plate), n it had 80k on when i got it.
Definitley get the HDi, the SDi sucks balls compared to it, both power and fuel wise.

    Who gives a flying turd?
I pay around 50 quid a month on 0% finance for my bike for 12 months, never struggled to do it but if i tried to save up to buy it outright it just wouldn’t happen, i dont have the discipline to save for long periods. As a previous poster said, 0% finance is like saving up in reverse. I’m not in any danger of causing another world banking crisis.
At the end of the day, its my brass, i work hard for it, i’ll do what i bloody well like with it.
If i wanted to get into debt i dont see how it affects anyone else (no kids/ other half) n for folk on a forum to start booing abou mtb debt is a bit much really. A little bit of support for each other may not go amiss seens as were all involved in the same leisure activity. I think we all need to stop worrying about what other people are doing.

They come in very handy. Even if i didnt need it for work id propbably have one anyway, so easy to chuck the bike in the back n get going, no messing with bike racks and all that malarky. We managed to get 5 bikes in the back of it with the front wheels taken off and stacked down the sides so for a little van its taken some good loads, ahem.
Only problem is the lack of seating up front but you can get three seater berlingos, although it would be very cosy and i dunno where they put the gear lever :o

How do lads n lasses, room for a n00b? I’m rubbish going up but can get down pretty good, IMO. I’ll be coming from hudds way if anyone requires a lift in my sporty little two seater
    van.

You do know that by watching it your are giving validity to these people to carry on living their lives in a vacuous and self centered manner?
Never watched it but seeing some of the plonkers its produced on other shows makes me worried about where this world is going.
You’ll be telling me you watch Geordie Shore n Desperate Scousewives next.
These people should not be encouraged.

100% by definition is the maximum of the percentile scale, cent=100, not 110 or 300, just 100, so reachng 100 in the percentile scale means you have 100%, full up, cant get no more in. Unless your the makers of pepperami which has 115% meat products, meaning they fill it wi meat (100%), then cram a bit more in (115%)
It is a stupid, nonsensical turn of phrase coined and repeated by pillocks. And if your doing something in 20seconds one day then you do it in 18 the next does not mean your giving 110%, you have just increased the amount you can do before you reach 100% and max out (or you werent trying hard enough before). Come on people, pull your fingers out and use 100% of your grey matter.

I think you’ve hit it on the head, the majority of the “celeberities” are after the cash so couldn’t give a monkeys about justice being done.
Just goes to show if you throw enough cash at something it will eventually disappear. the majority people are over their initial outrage and ready to carry on with their lives, the papers are happy enough to let them forget about it and so are paying out to keep it further away from the public eye.

    or something.

Fair dos, i suppose you can pull up on the pedal, although i have heard that this can lead to unneccesary strain on the knee joint, buts thats an alltogether different debate.

Now that i’ve had my rant ive calmed down, lets just let bygones be bygones and all go ride bikes fast down hills together cos in the end, thats what its at all about, right? Right.

I dont get the whole “if i use spds it makes me better,” surely then they are skills compensators. If you had the skills your feet wouldn’t blow off the pedals, you would be able to climb as well as people on flats, you could go as fast without using spds, you wouldn’t crap it going over a jump cos your feet leave the pedals. i like riding my HT bike with flats, thats just me, wear spds if you must but don’t try telling me they’re any better or you’ve got any better bike technique or control than on flats cos that aint the case paaaaal.

Hey davski, Any advice/ reviews? one n00b to another? I’m planning on going next friday with a friend, neither of us have been before. What did you reckon to the above loop suggestions? Enough xc involved? I ideally wanna do a couple hours xc then playabout on the 4x and north shore.
How well sign posted are the routes?

    Cheers.

Tell your child you think its not suitable for 6 year olds and get him/her to pick a book you feel more comfortable with. Or, as above, treat it like you would any other fairytale.
