You need to be careful with the weather on this one…any ice on the top bit down Carlside could be very interesting! 8O It’s smooth and hard-packed on that bit, more like a very steep trail centre!

Isn’t the ‘Crush’ a completely different type of frame to the other two you listed. I thought it was built to take a bit more abuse and is made from aluminium? All the other bikes you’ve listed, including the one’s that are too expensive, are made from steel. Make sure you know what you want before buying.

You never mentioned what tyres you are using. Are the 2.35’s just a wider version of your old ones or a different tyre altogether?

On my Garmin Edge 605 you can have ‘North up’ or ‘track up’. It is found under: settings -> map -> orientation. I assume all Garmin units can do this?

Someone is selling an new Edge 605 with mapping, £150 in the classifieds. Same as the 705 but without HRM, cadence and wireless transfer thingy.
I’ve had one for a couple of years and wouldn’t be without it!

I can’t stand folk who think they’re posh and aren’t well off…i.e. most of the middle-class! Especially ones who talk about nothing but their career, mortgages or which school their kids go to! I refuse to grow up and don’t concern myself with such boring subjects.

Rewski – I stopped eating pain au chocolat’s when ‘someone’ told me you can buy them in Greggs…the shock, the horror!

Cynic-al, It’s looking on them and some other forums that have led me to the above choices, thanks.
Molgrips, has your wife used the in-built photo stitching yet? It’s meant to do a very good job of it, this, and it’s slim size are why it’s one of my choices. Cheers.

Flexicover Direct…I think I pay about £50 for a years cover. They even do cheaper options than this. I don’t mind their monthly emails either, usually about travel tips or obscure places/hotels.
If you look about you should be able to get 20% discount code too.

Like others have said Xmas is for the kids. I like the time off work though and to eat, drink and be merry!

Oh TJ what a joyful fellow you are! Hope I never meet you in a pub…I’d probably slash my wrists in the toilet!

Realman – get yourself on holiday with Mountain Biking Spain for Xmas and New Year!

Look up Almanzora, don’t think it’s far from where you’re looking at. It’s in the Sierras de los Filabres, I’m spending Xmas and New Year there with Mountain Biking Spain.

Thomas Pink? Pricey? Nah. I prefer these Eton shirts…

Eton 80th anniversary dress shirt – over $45,000. Swedish shirt-making company Eton, celebrating their 80th birthday, created this shirt out of the finest Egyptian cotton. Of course, it couldn’t be the most expensive shirt in the world without a few diamonds. Both the studs and the cufflinks are encrusted with diamonds—white diamonds on the cufflinks and colored diamonds on the studs.

I have 6. One for each day, Monday-Friday and a spare in case I drop some lunch on myself.

You’re looking at it the wrong way round…you get the hub to match the frame dropouts. I’ve never bought a frame to match a hub! :P
Saying that a few frames have replaceable dropouts but changing those would be a more expensive option. If you already have the hub you might be able to convert it to suit the frame though? Have you a particular hub you’re wanting to use?

Is it really that expensive considering a lot of carbon full-sus frames cost over 2 grand and nearly another grand for a fork. In 5 years time the carbon frame will probably be knackered or worth F all. A custom ti bike on the other hand will fit like a glove, last years and with a heritage like this one will lose little in value. The stem, bars and post too…how nice are they? Think I would put a suspension fork on it mind, depends what you ride I suppose.
I laughed at the clueless twunks who wonder why it’s got some blokes name on it and not some trademarked, made up brand name!
Anyway, fair play to the OP for knowing his onions getting something of this quality.

Hell! I gave one away when I bought my PS3!!! I used to use one of those ab-roller things as a stand for it, worked great!
You wouldn’t want to use one for online play…You’ll do a lot better with the standard controller.

The only recommendation I can give is don’t stay close to the mechanical clock tower thing! It has the potential to drive you mental!

I used to have an old Gill eVent jacket and it was much more breathable than my Alp X. eVent does take more looking after and has to be re-proofed regularly. My Alp X has never been re-proofed and the material is tougher. I do find it too warm in the summer months though. I’ve bought the Fusion Active Shell jacket but haven’t had chance to wear it yet, so don’t know how that compares to pac-lite and eVent?
Montane do some good kit that is well priced…I think someone is selling some new stuff in the ‘for sale’ too.
Hope you get something sorted out.

I live in the same town as the Jennings brewery…I went for a weekend away in Yorkshire and was gutted the local pub was a Jennings one!
The Coniston brewery ales are much better in my opinion.

It all depends on how many calories you’re putting away. Do all the excercise in the world and you’ll still put on fat if you eat too much. Don’t eat enough but still excercise hard and you will lose weight/fat.
When taking weight gain you weigh yourself each week, if you don’t see any gains, you increase the amount you take.
If you want to do a clean bulk, eat plenty of chicken and veg or you can dirty bulk, eating all the s**t you can!

It’s such a shame Enigma don’t have a few more options, if you could pick the dropouts and the headtube diameter I think I’d have one myself…less than £1600 for a custom Ti frame makes the prices of some other brands seem ridiculous.
I bought a s/h Litespeed Obed and really like the size…it’s an M/L, this is great for me as I’m tall with short legs. I got it bead blasted for £25 and with some new stickers(£6), looks brand new! :D
I once came across ‘Crisp’ bikes from Italy…that bloke can weld and the name is perfect for his frames! Don’t know what they cost though.

I’d only been back from holiday (abroad) a couple of hours and a few folk popped round to see me. I still hadn’t been shopping, so didn’t have much in the way of food or drink…I looked in the freezer and found some mini magnum ice creams. As everyone was eating them my mates sister said “did you fetch these back with you?”. We all pissed ourselves and I still don’t think she knew why we were laughing! :-)

Charlie – Winning a race when you’ve been drinking normal strength beer is an achievement, I don’t know what you would call it after a few Chalky’s(6.8%), a miracle maybe…or had the all other riders all been drinking but you had drunk the least??? :P
The strange thing is that the Sierra Nevada(5.6%) tastes stronger than the Chalkys. I’ve been wanting to try a few of the Goose Island beers but haven’t seen them for sale here in Cumbria. :(

The plug method is as fast as you can get one out, thread it into the driver thing and push it in??? There’s no faff with glue or cutting them to size either (unlike the Panaracer kit, altough that does have its uses). You usually hear the sealant bubbling out, so if you’re quick should only have to top the air up a little bit.
Yunki – Where do you ride? No slices or tears?…You either use massive, dual ply tyres or don’t live in the Lakes or such like. Maybe you even walk down rocky descents?
You can use tubeless and not get a puncture for months, so much so, I get p***ed off when other folk I’m riding with do. Like I’ve already said, when you start getting punctures the tyre’s normally knackered. You can see this when you start getting wet patches on the tyre.
I’ve had tubeless for 5-6 years and tried just about every tyre brand going…Maxxis is my preferred brand thats all. Kenda seemed to be made of hard plastic and Hutchinson’s used to tear after getting a slice in. I don’t like Continental’s but thats’s to do with the treads, nothing to do with tubeless specific. These were all UST, I run a standard Maxxis DHF on the front, set-up tubeless for the softer rubber.
I will never go back to tubes!

I take a few of the Genuine Innovations’ plugs, 1 or 2 Park sidewall patches, a tube and sometimes CO2 for re-seating the tyre.
The plugs usually work for me…If you start using quite a few it usually means it’s time to replace the tyre.
If the tyre has a big hole or slash, I’d stick a tube in. Check the inside of the tyre for things sticking through first.
Are you using sealant? If not, do.
I’ll only use Maxxis tyres, they’re the ones I’ve had the least trouble with.
    Hope this helps. :-)

If that’s where you’re planning on going, ask in 4play Cycles in the Market Place, Cockermouth.
