Don’t know if the ‘eh?’ was aimed at me? You’ve never heard the term mouse’s ear? A few strip clubs’ go by that name.

There’s no need to break the mould here, just get the typical love/hate and a couple of swallows – job done.

I have the same problems if I eat anything with oats in – now I’ve cut it out it would seem I’ve become even more sensitive to it (if unwittingly eat something it’s hidden in).

Don’t worry about the wheel size, worry about the hub reliability instead.

I don’t think seeing a snake is the worst part…it’s the paranoia afterwards, thinking every root, stick, etc. is another one!

Enduro bike magazine had to have the front-triangle replaced on their test bike due to the same problem. They got a replacement promptly, but I did wonder if that would be the case for anyone else.

I would have thought your son would get information on available graduate jobs emailed to him by prospects.ac.uk. I get lots of updates from them and I don’t think it’s something I ever signed up for (whilst at uni).

The bloke had all the proper tickets – I wouldn’t have used him otherwise, although my stove is gas if that makes a difference? The main reason I saved money was because he just charged me his standard hourly rate, rather than giving me a price. I have no chimney either, but as I live in a bungalow, only needed a few metres of flue.

The best thing I did was get mine fitted by the plumber I had working at my house already. He was a fraction of the price of the place I was originally going to buy my stove from (I did give him a hand and setup a small scaffold myself though).
Too many of these so called fitters charge way too much, for what is usually a straightforward job.

Edit: I know not many folk will work at height without a scaffold now, but it’s often not necessary for how little time is spent on the roof and how few materials are needed up there. I only set a scaffold up to keep the fitter off my tiles – he was going to do it without.

It would seem there may be a market for guinea pig gimp suits – I can’t find anyone who makes them anyway. :?

Keep it simple and go for stick (MMA). I would only recommend MIG if you’re doing lots, have long runs, or for speed. With MIG you’ve to bother about the tips, gas and making sure the wire doesn’t rust. It can be a faff if you want to use different size wire too.
For the kind of jobs you mention, nothing’s simpler than switching the machine on, picking what size rod to use and getting on with it.

Trailrat, I think you’re wrong – not about it ever being £100, but what do you expect for £30! It looks very similar to a Fat Spanner branded one that I have (EBC, and a few others have sold them under their own names’ too).

Have you been on a boat recently? My mother had the same symptoms as you when she came back from a cruise. I know she had to have some medication and suffered for a few months with it.

I’m not sure there’s enough rubber to them – I’ve used High Roller 2.3 Lust’s for years, and even though I’ve still had a few punctures (usually when well worn), no tears or slices. Switched to a HRII 2.3 and managed to slice it in two places on my first ride out! Maybe I was just unlucky? Anyway, I’ve decided a 800g (or whatever it is) tyre isn’t tough enough on the rear for the places I ride.

I’m surprised to see recommendations for the Shimano’s…they’re nowhere near as warm or long-lasting as they used to be. The latter goes for most Shimano shoes these days too.

BBSB – if that tool actually works for you, then your tyres can easily be removed by hand. If used on any tyre that is tight, the CB tool is so brittle it will snap and try to slice your hand open!

What about a s/h Blur LT? Intense bikes also have the same suspension design, but I wouldnt have another alloy one.

It’s the Bearbones stove with the fuel-line that interests me the most – no more wasted fuel or running out before something’s ready.

If you’ve got a premium account you’ll be able to use ‘Spotify Connect’ app and that’ll set everything up for you.
Failing that, I’m not sure – I stream from my phone to a Bluetooth receiver plugged into my amp.

Edit: without the app you can’t control Spotify on the laptop, but maybe you can stream from the phone directly to the Bluetooth?

Why do you need to control the laptop when you can use Spotify directly from your phone?

You’re out of luck OP…Nicolai 1 1/8″ headtubes are designed for standard external cup headsets (to be really specific, they’re supposed to be deep-cup ones for the warranty) – so they’re not 44mm.

Not sure if it’s my favourite but I watched Wu Xia (Dragon) the other day – it’s on Netflix and it’s well worth a watch.

OKCupid is my favourite site – it’s just a shame there’s not many on there close to me.
Tinder’s worth a go too – Even though it’s supposed to be a hookup app I’ve found a lot of folk are looking for more. And funnily enough, they’re usually more refined than those on POF! (This is based on Cumbria, YMMV!)

Hire someone with a machine to do it for you. You’ll end up paying for a few hours instead of a few days.

Anyway, what are you actually doing, putting in a drive where there wasn’t one already, or digging an old one up? If the latter, you’d be better off with a jackhammer and not using a digger.

I think a lot can be blamed on heavy-handed spannerers. I know loads of folk who’ve stripped threads, rounded bolt heads, cracked bearing covers, etc. I’m now worried for them after reading this thread!
I know the recommended torque for a lot of stem bolts is 4-5Nm, which for those who don’t know, is not very much – barely hand-tight. I actually think a lot of folk are best using multi-tools on their bikes, as a lot of the long-handled allen key sets you see are a recipe for disaster in the wrong hands!

    Edit: Pleased you’re OK, OP.

Haha at essel’s suggestion. The latest thing I’ve heard of is synthetic stuff for putting in e-cigs…loads of young ‘uns round here have ended up in hospital with it. The couple with the shop that sold them it have been arrested. :D

The being able to call the emergency services when you’ve no signal is a myth (you might get through, but you can still be cut off)! That’s why you can now register to contact them by text, as they’re more reliable.

There’s also a new phone app called Uepaa!, which works like a Spot.

If you’re looking online for building work recommendations you’ve already set yourself up for getting a bad job done.
Recommendations are a funny thing because a lot of folk don’t know a bad job from a good one…unless something is really bad of course.
Tell matey to do one too. It should have taken him 10 mins to write you a quote while he was there. Ask him if you can see his waste carriers licence to wind him up.

Unless you’re wanting to give bigger wheels a go, just ride your HD into the ground.
The best thing I ever did with mine was get the suspension custom-tuned, but maybe that’s just because I don’t weigh much. I’ve always planned on trying one of those headsets that let you slacken things out, too…not that I feel it needs it, just to see what the difference is like.

Outside magazine did an article where a bloke tested quite a few different PE’s – I think he said the one thing he’d have continued taking, if he could afford it, would be growth hormone. Something that was noted was that any gains are soon lost once you stop taking whatever it is you’re on.

Edit – cookeaa beat me to it.

Yeah, can’t be any longer than 50cm. Try Parcel Monkey or Interparcel instead.
