If it’s chunky you need, On-One are selling the Oury lock-ons cheap.

Dome head bolts would look better.

eBay? Although it does take ages to list and take pics of everything.

As long as you’re not sniffing tyres or saddles! 😀
I don’t know what ever happened to the old Finish Line spray oil, it used to smell like pear drops (I know they still do spray stuff, it doesn’t smell the same as the stuff in the 90’s though).

Far better to get an off the shelf built wheel where you can get all the bits anywhere, that will be comparably as light too.

The reason why I sold my ST’s…I’d had to sent them off to the Mavic service centre, as nowhere local had any parts.

I take it this is the bridleway rather than the footpath over the summit?

It is, it’s just before what you can see in my photo.

Yeah, don’t miss it out! I thought you’d maybe done it before, so were looking for a different route. The only problem can be the amount of walkers on there.
The only reason I stopped to take this pic was because I had to repair a slice in my tyre…don’t ride down the spoil heaps in the mine!

25 posts on how to put some sealant in a tyre! 😆

I think Glentress is the most over-rated trail centre I’ve come across. The only reason I go is because it’s somewhere where I can spend a full day…always after I’ve already spent a few days riding elsewhere in the area.

I’m sure I’ve done the bit you mention, on a different route though…is there a reason you want to miss out Warnscale Beck?

Look at the Innerleithen advise, then discard it cause the route’s shit
You’re probably the kind of rider that thinks Kirroughtree is shit too (the best 7Stane IMHO). 😀

Go to Innerleithen first and do the red there, then go and do the red at Glentress…sorted! 😀

the tape has been causing me issues on my flows, its a pain when it gets a kink in it etc,

That sounds like the tape hasn’t been stretched properly when fitted.

Why the Flow EX’s too? There are other rims in the NoTubes range that are more comparable to the ST rims.

The Mavic rims (ST and SX) are solid and can take some abuse…I sold mine though, due to the poor hubs and spokes that many places don’t stock.

EDIT: The ST’s are supposed to be 1650g…I can’t confirm that and don’t know if that is with the valves. I do know the Flow Ex’s on CK hubs with DT Swiss DB spokes, brass nipples, tape and valves would be about 1900g.
The Arch EX rims would be 180g lighter (90g per rim).

This might be of use too: Stan’s rim comparisons. 😉

Freeweights and a stability ball are all you need then.

I think they can affect being able to see digital displays properly…don’t know if that will be a problem for you?

EDIT: Oakley glasses aren’t polarised unless listed as such.

Yes, that would be the air escaping from ‘your’ tyres…I haven’t heard that sound for quite a while. 😆

You don’t need sealant for them to seal. It’s still worthwhile using some though.

I thought you had to use a triple mech and turn something on the shifter to make it x2?

You just need a woodwasp and an eggcup…put the wasp in the eggcup and hold it over said eye. 🙂

Whatever you use, you want a carb/protein mix of 4:1…too many folk use protein shakes without any carbs in!

I can recommend them. I thought they were expensive at first, but they soon come into their own. Being able to clip them off easily is good too.

    With a 1L pop bottle

They fit on a suspension fork leg too with the clips (Fox 32, just!)

This mainly tells you that downhill has not embraced strava in the same way that XC has

At least you’re honest and have the intelligence to realise that. It’s funny to see some average riders, new to Strava, who suddenly think themselves downhill demons because they don’t realise a lot of folk don’t use it. (Probably the same ****s who start near the front at races and events, then hold everyone else up!).

There’s a loop near me which has the option of not going all the way to the top of it, cutting out a few KM’s out. Strava would still put you down as having done the full route…then you had those doing the shorter route, thinking they were faster than sponsored riders who had done the full one! 😆

For those mentioning ball-head allen keys…the ball end isn’t supposed to be used for loosening tight bolts! They’re designed for bolts that are bad to get at. Even then you loosen the bolt off with the flat end first, then use the ball-head to unscrew it.

they have automated packing system which is why they use the boxes.

This, someone fills a tub with your order, sticks it on a conveyor belt and machines do the rest. A video was put up when they changed to their new premises.

    EDIT: Beaten to it.

Mojo normally fit new hardware as part of a service.

As does anyone who services shocks. Did Cane Creek (or whoever) know what frame you have?
Ignore, just saw the new posts.

Have you tried Ebay.com? At least you’d be able to see the sellers feedback. Failing that, the Surly website lists all their dealers.

round profile/section/whatever (some tyres are a bit ‘square’ – honestly)

I prefer a ‘square’ profile tyre on the front…they have more bite when cornering in loose conditions.

If you find a setup you’re happy with, stick with it! I used to keep chopping and changing, but keep going back to the same combo. I see someone mentioned that they’ve stuck with bad tyres until they’ve wore out?!? I’ve moved some tyres on after a few rides, due to them being downright dangerous!

I think folk are going to have start using aliases on Strava…even if you have the privacy settings on, it’s not rocket science to search for someone’s name for a given place.

Check out Mixcloud too, there’s some good radio shows on there.
