Thanx Marko/Bigyinn…If it does turn out to be partially seized cable linkage is this something that will sort itself with regular use or does it need a trip to the local garage for some attention?

Thanx everyone….my post was probably a bit missleading….What I meant was that the clutch has been changed in the past and I would not have expected this to be an issue. It’s just that the actual gear lever / gearbox is very very stiff…. So perhaps as it has a cable to the box is it possible that cable just needs some lube? Might it be corroded due to 3 month park …etc

Can I echo all the comments made . My daughter & son in law were in a similar position in a property with a damp and mould problem. Had a handover inspection when they left and the landlord said he’ll send them their deposit back direct to their bank asap.. They waited a week or so nothing. Finally phoned him to be told there mould here, damp there such and such is broken etc etc and I’m keeping the entire deposit. He never sent any estimates or anything to substantiate his claim and wouldn’t budge so I launched a dispute via the deposit scheme (which is a job in itself) and we got back their deposit in full after about a month.

I’m convinced that the B*stard simply does this to every tenant and keeps what he can get away with. Not everyone has the stomach or time for the fight !

Taulpaul I think the car “told” her by warning light /engine management system…hadn’t gone completely just too low. And yes about a litre a week. Wouldn’t the garage have spotted such leaks if I had asked them to check the system?

Thanx. I don’t know anything about cars and thought that a pressure test would show if it had a leak !

Most people have missed something that is very important in the ops statement….”I used to run 400 and 1500 in my yoof”. To run a fast marathon you need to be comfortably cruising at pace…You can improve your cruising speed with reps whilst training but only so far. If you were born with a 400 runners speed and you practiced this in your youth then by default your cruising speed will be faster than others. Combine that with endurance training and you have a quick marathon…That is why Steve Cram ran such a quick marathon whilst he was commentating as well during a London ! 6 minute miling to him is like walking for us. I have run a few marathons , my first was 3.29 my second 3.27, third 3.02 and my fourth 2.56. At that time my 10k was 36 10 mile was 60 mins and my half 1.26 from memory. But other runners at my club who were quicker over the shorter distances never broke 3 hours. It really is a test of both endurance and the mind plus your body surviving the training necessary to succeed.

Sorry I say again….the data is correct…it is in the correct order in the formula bar i.e. Nov to Oct..it is in the same order in the rioght hand pane…Nov to Oct but the chart displays the year from April ?

    D28boy

Thanx Scruff but doesn’t help me…Horizontal Axis is 12 months …Nov to Oct… The “select data source” box shows the data in correct order in the right hand side “horizontal axis label”. But in any event I can’t see a way of changing the order in the horizontal axis ? Looking at the formula it also shows the correct order… It just seems like that excel has decided to centre the Data labels and is starting from the middle of the data selection..April….

I just want the horizontal axis to reflect the same order that it appears in the actual data.

I don’t think you quite understand how you get tinnitus.
And Phil, rest his soul, was ten feet away while inflicting the damage. Serves me right for standing right in front of the PA stack while taking photos.
Which I must try to find one day and scan the negs.

Yes I do which is why I asked the question ….wouldn’t have thought it was personally Phil’s fault….more the P.A that he and his band were using. :D…Would love to see your pictures too as I’m a great fan of him.

ahwiles- why not 10mph ? That would be even safer. The point is that there are risks involved in life and we should not try to legislate the whole nation to protect everything and everyone from every eventuality. I walked to school on my own or with friends from a very early age ..about 7 I think . I had a road to cross but I was taught where and how to do it. I biked to secondary school everyday for 5 years which involved cycling thru’ a busy town centre about 10 miles return. People still do this. Pedestrians/children aren’t all retarded and need special protection they just need commonsense and to apply care in their everyday activities. And yes my kids all used to bike around our town but they all have those nasty cars now.
