I honestly don’t understand some peoples perception. Yes there is a clear difference between property and personal injury. However, whenever something is damaged or worn out I have to pay for it. This money doesn’t come from a mystical fairy but by me spending time away from my family working.. Even if I don’t get the damage fixed, even the reduction in value has an impact which means more time at work..

It’s the big four zero for me next year so my plan is to keep up the ‘everyday’ cycling and do something for fun every month. So far I’ve come up with L2B day, night and off road, the Isle o Wight Randonee, a weekend at Swinley and one at BPW, SDW in a day, 100 mile road ride and just thinking of some more! Can’t wait!

I used the expensive stuff on the workshop floor. Ended up costing nearly 100 pounds. However has lasted amazingly (8 years so far) compared to the brother in laws..

We’ve got the leaf for the wifes car and it’s fab. We got it on a PCP through carwow. Worked out the same cost to keep our old banger on the road as to getting the leaf. We test drove the Zoe and it was nice, but not as nice as the leaf. Although the Zoe was a little cheaper.

We’ve got a leaf as our one and only car, it works well. We rarely do journeys more than 50miles a day and when we do it’s usually to family and friends, we either charge at theirs or on route.

The cost of the car via a PCP worked out the same as keeping our 10year old multipla on the road so it was no brainer.

Throw in the fact that we now pay £20 a month on fuel instead of £100+ is ideal.

I am smug, but because we’re saving money rather than the environment. It’s the wife that’s smug due to the eco side..

We’ve got a Nissan Leaf on a PCP, brand new car with total cost for car over 24months as 4240. Would easily do the mileage you’re after and I have to say is a fab car. Wouldn’t but a new one as the depreciation is horrifi and works out more than what the PCP is over the term. Possibly going to buy a 3year old one after this one, however, if I can find a similar deal will go new..

You either need a HETA’s engineer to install, or if you do it yourself building control to sign it off. I did mine myself after reading the reg’s and the Mrs made me go through building control. The chap came round, pointed out where my log burner was and then went into the garden and pointed up and said “that’s your chimney”. I tried to explain all that I’d done and he just wasn’t interested and said “I’m not sure why we come round to these” received my certificate in the post.. £120 for the privilege, although Mrs T’s mind was at rest..

Kona Ute here, I’ve had no problems with handling or anything. My wife thought I was crazy when I bought it but now it’s adapted to carry the two kids (4 and 2years old) she uses it all the time. Loaded with the two kids I can still fit a weeks(ish) shopping in the panniers.

I now have to try and sneak out on it to even get a go.. Has stopped the need for a second car..

We lease a Nissan Leaf, it works out the same cost as running the previous car which was a 10year old multipla.. Most of that saving is the reduction in fuel cost though..

I may have just bought a F900 Optimo from the 2000’s. Looks lovely and taking it out for it’s first ride on Saturday.

I have to say the only reason I bought it was the way the lefty makes the bike look! (and it was a bargain!).

Nissan leaf owner here.. We’ve got one on a PCP, works out at £4240 for 2 years. With a fuel saving of 80% and no maintanence it costs the same to run a brand new car as it did to keep my 10 year old Multipla maintained, fueled and taxed..

We’ve solar panels too and that’s without this in the equation.. I have to say that it’s a fab car!

Definitely worth it although probably not for full price. Have a look on ebay for tickets, we went a few weeks ago and six tickets cost £48 (for them all not each!).. Loads of people sell the Sun ones and other complimentary tickets..

Got the leaf now, two days and it’s fab. Brought it back from the dealer in Bristol to Sussex, 160miles and no fuel costs.. Bargain.

Picking up the leaf tomorrow, I can’t wait to say “Ooooh, look at me, everyone, I’m saving the little fluffy polar bears! I must be a great person. Did I mention I was saving the planet with my lovely, cuddly car? I mean, just look at it! No one would drive something this silly looking if it wasn’t saving ickle baby seals”

It’s nothing to do with the fact that the lease and fuel costs are less than the fuel and maintenance costs of my old car.. It’s all about the polar bears, honest..

I tinted the windows in my car. Wasn’t too much of a pain although if I were to do it again I’d take the windows out..

I was waiting in the doctors the other day and a bloke walked in wearing clingfilm for pants and nothing else. A doctor was called and as he walked in he looked at the man and said “I can clearly see you’re nuts”.

My commute home last night did almost kill me.. One of the few times I’ve had to pedal to go downhill.

Perhaps rather than everyone making assumptions we should leave the decision to the person who had all of them. The Coroner, who has decided that this wasn’t a criminal act and therefore ‘misadventure’. Unless people know something the coroner didn’t?

We use the ferry when we go, cheap and always space. It takes about an hour but it’s a quite nice way to enjoy the trip..

Sony smart watch three for me. Does all the GPS things and also stores a good few songs for pairing with blue tooth headphones.. And it’s rather good as a smart watch aswell which is a bonus..

I bought a new (to me) motorbike and my riding has dropped off dramatically.. Weighed myself today and it’s bad news, hopefully it’s
    the motivation for cycling!

I’ve got the Sony Smartwatch 3, and I have to say it’s fab. I’ve got the Sony Z3 (having previously been an apple fan) and seriously wouldn’t go back.

I managed to pick my watch up for £110 off of amazon, it stores about 2gigs of music that you can listen to via bluetooth headphones and does the GPS perfectly. Battery lasts 2 days and now when I don’t wear it I look a bit strange looking at my wrist when the phone makes a noise..

Just google CO2 cannisters. As soon as you put in tyres it brings up the more expensive ones..

Have you got any of the flooring left? If so any chance there’s enough for a room? Thanks either way.

I’ve bought the 200 and it’s fine for navigating on road and with a bit of practice is good off road too. Add on the fact that they’re £69 at asda at the moment (which is where I got mine) they’re an absolute bargain!
