Am confused by how you are cleaning the chain after every ride and yet lots of crud has built up

Maybe look at your cleaning routine.

Being a bit prone to lateness, and possibly a humourless prig, I found it interesting. It’s not meant to be a heavyweight article.

I wonder what the right wing equivalent is – moaning about cyclists on pavements or something?

Someone without any real challenges, problems or what half the planet would consider a “proper job

    this was quite revealing

our energy use is significantly lower than with previous gas central heating

This can only be down to insulation, not the ashp itself

There’s a FB group for Brompton hacks (probably many) and the brand du jour is Aceoffix or Aceoffice. Some light builds but they are very tricked out.

If I had the cash I’d love a light Brommie, I’d also like discs and bigger wheels.

    @mattyfez

The fact is she was a minor, and obviously coerced/groomed, so ‘normally’ any back street lawer should easily be able to fight it in court and win

You know that this argument hasn’t been made?

Marketing folk from Proctor and Gamble were on it or similar recently talking about Sunny Delight.

Quite a good expose of how evil “food corp” is.

EDIT – “Toast” below – the main positive was that it’s better than coke.

Always wanted one since my mum wouldn’t bet me a burner in the 80s,  probably too late now.

Aside, can anyone tell me how in the staircase this guy did this?

what saddles have worked for you in the past?

This is a hugely personal thing (and for me does not depend one but on bike type or terrain).

    Fit, always.

Never seen any data on stiffness and power transfer – which to me means it matters mostly in the minds of the shoeco marketing department.

I loved having mine (88 Rockhopper) for a few years recently.

Saved for short dry pootles, 5 mile commutes and the pub.

    Took it round Glenstress, terrifying.

Happy I did it and scratched that itch, happy I now have the space back

The tory party has one reason for existing – to keep power and wealth in the hands of the powerful and wealthy. Any party member is a part of this – the deliberate cruelty and impoverishment of the poor old and unhealthy is deliberate. they have blood on their hands. sure some have the capacity for self delusion but that does not make them decent people.

What @tjagain said. They want to look nice while hanging onto the money and screwing the poor and vulnerable.

I thought of a 304 convertible but the rear isn’t finned, and Peugeot is also in production.

Also thought of Sunbeam Alpine but already been said.

    I did wonder about Amphicar

Similar here, first after a hockey game (ist in 15 years) at 35. Come and gone since then, until a proper “cannot move, get me diazapam” day a year ago. Physio (back specialist, recommended by my friend, his colleague) reckoned it was down to me not using my back as it should – moving stiffly, being scared of being too mobile in case it instigated another incident.

His advice was to relax and use my back more – seems to have worked.

While I’m not a fan of gait analysis and shoes to “correct” it, going into a shop and trying a few on is a good idea IMO (I do this occasionally, alternating with buying stuff discounted online).

Worth speaking to someone about any recurring pains before they turn into something worse (high drop shoes/heel striking gave me shin splints, low drop give me tendonopathy).

Well done for getting into it gently, it’s way too easy for us cyclists to get into running too quickly and having issues.

This looks great, nice clean lines (ride killing aluminium stays notwithstanding) but I am guessing there are Decathlon or similar alternatives for 2/3 the price?

    What’s a powder coat these days, £80?

Etch primer and 2 pack should work pretty well IME, obviously will take time (primer only needed if gone down to bare metal).

This thread pretty much sums up the futility of internet discussions/arguments

There are a few folk dissing it but not saying why, what’s the point in that?

I find it informative. Some people are even using research and data!

the image of a shattered helmet…pretty compelling

I’d say there’s a bit more to it than a simplistic view than that – which is pretty much the flaw in the arguments of compulsion/”you’re a helmet if you don’t” etc.
