Alanl I have a set of giant conduct brakes and a couple stems and a bleed kit, I never quite managed to get the bleed right so they always felt quite long.

If you’re prepared to take the risk i’m happy to pass them on cheap. Say £40 incl postage?

I also started a very similar thread. Ended up with a Shimano hub from eBay and a rim from condor cycles. I’ve not actually taken it into DCR for a build yet, but will do.

I like the tripster, but if you’re looking to save weight it might be a little heavier than you’re expecting, I don’t know how it compares to the others though.

The Joe blow can be fixed, but mine failed at the bottom in the end.

If you got 10 years from one, just buy another and a digital gauge if you need one.

As above check the cable routing to the pinch bolt.

I’d be tempted to find a suitable mentor or coach for this situation, especially the turnaround bit.

Someone you trust with experience of the sector/situation yet sufficiently independent who you can discuss ideas and thoughts with.

    Good luck

On that basis 80mm isn’t going to be significantly different to what you currently ride, so I would try 70mm as suggested above.

Does the current stem feel too long, short, high or low?

I have a cove handjob and run a 90mm stem.

…and probably worth more than it originally cost you.

So I bought a Lego lambo copy to try out. The quality of the bricks was pretty good and the instructions not bad at all. The build itself is a bit flimsy and bits fall off all the time, though this doesn’t seem to be a reflection of the bricks themselves.

It wouldn’t feel right ‘displaying’ the fake Lego nor would i want to mix my fake and real Lego and I really don’t want to sell it on but it would be a waste not to have it reused.

So if anyone is about 8 miles east of Brighton and able to pick it up from my porch you’d be very welcome to it.

    Email in profile I think.

105 10 speed were notorious for this. As above, check the cable first. If not I suspect it’s new shifter time.

I’m with you op. That’s a cracking bike and worth £200 all day long.

I managed to get a Reebok jet 300 from Argos in lockdown had to look every day first thing in the morning. Had to wait about a month for delivery. Been very impressed, 20kph top speed is plenty for us.

Sourcing one at the moment will likely be the challenge. Good luck.

I understand replacing a car is a massive time-consuming pain in the rear, but no insurance company is going to be paying your time and/or costs to replace your car I’m afraid..

I would suggest a decent stem and handlebars will remove more road buzz, especially if you’re currently running stock.

I haven’t had great experience with the cinelli gel insert, I think you’d be better off double wrapping normal tape.

Theres plenty of riding around and off the south downs in the winter.

The way itself is really quite nice in places and on the right day I reckon the whole route would be a blast in winter. But the right days are few and far between, I guess after a reasonably warmish dry patch would be best.

I went with Chromebook for my 12yo. I felt the normal keyboard was important for typing etc.

I foolishly got one without touchscreen, which I would make sure I got if I bought again.

It’ll be 68mm, noway have trek used Italian fitting.

No problem running a shorter BB, if the axle is that far out and you Def have clearance for the chainring and arms. It might mess the chainline a tiny bit.

Don’t forget when measuring a replacement BB that the difference in axle length is mostly drive side only.

Specialized were a nightmare for this. CRC picked up a load of s works road frame a number of years ago and noone could source headsets for them.

I think the closest available are campag headsets.

    Good luck in your search.

can you access another shock pump, just in case that’s the problem

Either way they sound broken. It’s not your responsibility to fix a brand new fork, send em back.

I tend to only spend what I can afford to replace. Most of my stuff is secondhand or heavily discounted. I don’t need or really want the latest gear and tend to wait for new standards to bed in. However in the long run this can get costly and difficult. Esp trying to source straight steerer forks or 26″ wheels.

I’ve been impressed with the decathlon one. I really didn’t want to run with a bladder as I thought i would find it noisy and awkward, but that’s not been the case at all. It’s pretty comfy and doesn’t move about or rub.

The size I have has a 1.5l bladder so not too heavy or cumbersome.

Shirt and tie, a suit will be uncomfortable. Make sure the background is clean and clear. Blur if you can.

In what crazy world would it move in a bit? That’s BS.

There are 2 types of square taper fitment, it sounds like your fitment is okay but the cranks are made for different bottom bracket widths.

I don’t know if there is a database of crankset and BB combinations anywhere, but if you can live with it, crack on.

It would drive me nuts and you might find it’s probably easier to get a new BB and crankset combination rather than luck into the correct combination.

Anyone seen any good deals on Technic Lego at the moment? I fancy another build.

    Thanks
