Thanks all, will order new freewheel and chain to go with brake blocks and brake cables.

Are white industries that much better than shimano then? I really don’t rate the shimano ones, but are the white industries fit and forget??

Mate has a flash/flare and they seem pretty good as be seen lights.

The rear doesn’t seem half as bright as their plug in redeye rear light though.

The flare would appear to be more waterproof than a smart which I seem destroy in one wet ride.

V’s and travel agents fitted. I managed to find some 1.5mm brake cable which made the whole process an awful lot easiier, not ridden yet but they feel positive.

Dylan, yes please. Never got your e-mail though.

I found the Prendas Winter Thermolite Socks to be very good:

    yeah road sti.

Presume the brake lever will pull into the bar without actually stopping.

I seriously doubt their mechanics built it up to be honest, probably came pre-built.

I expect warranty is 12 month’s , but Wiggle are very good with these type of queries and I am sure they’ll sort you out.

    Doh!!

How rubbish are we talking for mini-v, absolute no no for off road??

    Cheers all.

Thanks I did wonder whether the LBS would be best placed to advise.

I would rather spend out on a new frame, then spend £100+ on being told the old one is knackered.

Adjusting them is easy when all the bits are brand new. Once the cones or balls are even slightly worn its all over.

No everything is 50/50 in terms of what we put in and owe. I have no issue if he was to pay some sort of rent but in their eyes they have done nothing wrong and i am being made to look the idiot for even suggesting it.

Its not 50/50 though is it, she isn’t paying half your rent, but you’re (in effect) paying half her rent. Maybe she should be paying half your rent to even it up?

    Does windows recognise it?

I had the same problem, neither windows nor itunes recognised it. Turned out to be one of the drivers.

Plug in ipod, go to my computer, view system information, hardware, device manager and the error was showing with an ! against one of the USB drives. Right click and update drivers. (Win XP)

    oh, sorry, one more question.

What tool do I need to remove a shimano freewheel?

Links to CRC etc would be helpful

Thinking about it, I suspect jumping is due to insufficient chain tension.

    WI it looks like then

    Thanks

Loving my tricross single, purchased from here from Karnali (I think), probably gets used most of all my bikes.

sorry no pics, pretty much stock.

For info, I paid circe £100 for a 3 month plan with no feedback – just answering a few queries as I go.

I had a coach for some training plans when I was timetrialling. As you say, it helped me get the most out of limited time available, but it took a lot of the fun out of riding my bike as it wasn't easy to move the sessions about too much – if its a nice day you just wanna go and ride your bike for a couple of hours, but the plan might be to do a short tough session.

Depends what you want, if you are training for a race/event then go for it, if you just wanna go faster/get fitter then maybe swap plans with a mate and report back on how you are going to said mate – this will help the accountability part of it.

    Good luck

I thought BOE started out as one of the range of M series frames – so it could be both (if you see what I mean)

The seat stay to seat tube looks unique, not like any cannondales I can think of – is it a small size?

It is going to be tough to provide all the evidence they need to even start an investigation (though it sounds like you do have a lot of info). At the least it'll clear your conscience.

sell it and buy a road bike. No way you'll get calipers on it.

If its a singlespeed put V's on it.

Mister P – are we talking MTB stuff here?

    Tracker – no

    cyclistm

nope – the chainrings are fine. Many people ride 10 speed chainset on a 9 speed chain

note – some 10 speed dura ace freehubs will only take 9 speed cassettes
