There’s been a couple of K35’s flanked by F15’s fly over this morning

The OP video is pretty normal, but way too close all the same.

The second one would make me jump out of my skin. So scary!!

I would ride that too,but I can see the rear mech coming off without too much pressure destroying the mech, chain and wheel. It could be even more costly if that goes too.

As above, is the clutch on?

Is the front ring narrow wide?

Is the front ring worn out?

Assuming they’re in pretty good nick and not crashed to death, then definitely. I’ll PM you, thanks

Acros made a Block lock headset, my guess it’s one of them.

I don’t think they are any different are they?? I’ve never heard of specific disc or rim brake shifters, just hydro or cable.

SN15 is back on the Launch pad, surely they aren’t planning to fly her again??

That’s huge and I can tell how much this means to you, but further through your post you come across as being so hard on yourself, fully understandable, but I guarantee your an inspiration for so many on here.

Tl:Dr, your tl:dr made me laugh out loud

That’s a horrible noise. I would guess the freehub has failed or axle collapsed. Is the cassette locking fouling on anything?

Rock shox are notorious for shipping with insufficient oil. That’s possibly what the problem is.

Whether it’s easier to sort this yourself or send them back, I’m not sure.

    Okay, my predictions

    1. Championship will finish 1st Max, 2nd Bottas, 3rd Lewis.

    2. At least three races will be cancelled due to the coronavirus.

    3. Vettel won’t make a full season.

    4. There will be a major issue with the new tyres with teams demanding the old ones back.

    5. Ferrari will be caught cheating and will have points removed.

Assuming it’s similar to all the other Shimano freehubs I’ve played with they tend to fail through not engaging. I’ve not seen side to side movement, if it’s not the axle/cones and bearings and assuming the freehub bolt is up tight it probably needs to be replaced.

They get really gummed up and really hard to repair. A good dose of gt85 might resolve it.

Is it definitely the freehub body? It’s not a spacer missing on the cassette is it?

    cyclistm

Could be one of many things, sticky cable, worn jockey wheels or an alignment issue. Strip down and clean probably required, or leave it and just learn to live with with it.

Can you turn the wheel round? if it’s still off centre the same side it’s the fork, otherwise it’s the wheel.

What wheel is it? Qr, bolt thru etc?

I also remember the tear drop storm control, absolute classic, I never had one but lusted after a pair at every muddy race.

The Ferrari has gone back up at John Lewis. But is available for the same price at smyth toys with some other good deals.

Well this is a weird coincidence. I’ve had exactly the same issue as the op, I keep a weird stock system, when I find running trainers I like I’ll buy 2 or 3 pairs.

None of them fit anymore and are causing me all sorts of issues, I also find me feet are wider and longer.

I’ve been running much more since march 2020 so this might be a contributing factor.

I have also had symptoms very similar to covid toe which was really sore, but that’s finally cleared up now. I don’t think the 2 are related, but the smaller shoes (relative to my feet, they didn’t actually shrink) probably aggrivated the soreness of my toes.

The hubs will outlast the rims if you follow the advice above.

I’d start by checking rear mech alignment. But as it’s a new bike I’d be talking to whomever you bought it from.

    cyclistm

In that case should be pretty straight forward. Just need to get the cable tension right.

    cyclistm
    Free Member

Assuming he hasn’t bashed the mech then it’s just a question of getting the tension right.

But if he damaged the cable it’s worth checking out the cable stops too (alignment tool would be a good idea)

All the info is on the park tool website.

Oh and make sure you thread the cable the right way round the pinch bolt.

As above keep any criticism constructive and don’t say anything about someone you wouldn’t say to them direct.

I’ve just tipped this over the £6k mark, awesome amount collected and worthy of a little bump.
