PS – Does his history show him buying a different set in the past?

Well, surprise surprise… Got the package back this morning and he’s sent me back a scuffed up tatty old set, not the ones I sent out.

That’s really rough, is it obvious from your pictures that they are a different set?

I decided not to cut the race, instead, I got some 40mm waste pipe from B&Q, cut 4 slots in and used this.

    As suggested here:

    Did the job perfectly

    Thanks STW

Dont forget to charge the battery once its dried out.

Lead the ride to big climbs or really steep descents, this should even it up.

    22/32/42 is pretty standard

Riding Solo – can I plonk a box of bottles and a few spares near the transition area or do I just need to head off into the woods and find a secret spot to stash them?

watching the solo nutters last year, they just stashed their bottles and spares on the drag out of the start/finish arena.

MRP 1X and an on-one chainring works for me.

I have a spare chain device if you want to borrow one.

.. I’d change to a compact on the front if you can.

You’ll definitely need to lengthen the chain for the 30.

Depending on the length of the mech it probably wont cope with such a wide spread.

Smart Sam are much better on the cx bike than I thought, recommended if you think you’ll be doing some off road too

A big pole and turning it the right way should do it.

You can usually bolt the BB tool on to the BB axle, using the bolts and a few washers to keep the tool in place.

They are great get one, with disc brake ideally as there is likely to be a lot of development in this area

So, for an idiot, do I just do one cut, or cut a small section out of the race?

    Thanks

Cool, I thought that might be the case.

Is it just a case of cutting a small section out?

why do people connect chains when its under tension? I tend to take the rear wheel out or drop the chain off the front chainring, the chain is then slack and makes it pretty straightforward

1 X 10 enough for the Big Dog Mr W?

1*10 is 9 too many for the big dog. bobsproket and I rode singlespeed last year and it was spot on for the course. I suspect gears may have been a little quicker though.

Not riding it this year though, due to a variety of boring reasons.

    You riding?
