McLaren had given Alonso no information about whether the car had a steering problem
McLaren’s communications on the accident were “not brilliant”
Reacting to speculation that Alonso suffered an electric shock, causing him to crash, Briatore responded: “I hope not.

I guess the above comments point to a distinct lack of collaboration between the team and driver. I don’t know if this is normal or not, I always assumed the relationships would be more cohesive and there would be consistent messages coming from the team and driver. This doesnt reflect this in my eyes.

Well this doesn’t really clear the Akonso events up does it? It really shows an us and them relationship between mclaren and slonso. Also, I didn’t realise Briatore manages Alonso. 😐

I don’t think we will see Alonso in a mclaren again this year on the basis of this report.

Was it on the same wheel you rode with a puncture? I wonder if the rim has developed a sharp edge from being ridden flat or otherwise the rim has been deformed?

Not a fan of Michelin either

On that basis, if you were a driver would you want to drive the one that’s been tested or a nice new one for the beginning of the year?*

    * I apologise for the terrible oversimplification

During testing, do they only have 1 car for the whole weekend or will they use both cars in turn? I read someone sauber had 4 cars with them, 2 2014 and 2 2015 spec.

I can’t quite work it out, surely the other shifter will always be in the wrong gear. So you’ll need to make redundant shifts before it shifts gears? (After changing position)

Since its parked on Double yellows perhaps it’s just an overzealous parking warden?

Clearly Jo has found the hidden wear indicators. If the rim explodes its too thin.

Mavic have obviously improved the design as it always used to happen on the road/trail for me.

If, and it’s a big if, Alonso was unconscious before the crash. Would the impact, in terms of the concussion, potentially be greater?

hartstein comes across as a right prat. He is in a privileged position, and is presumably well respected through his experience, but seems to be spinning very limited information, probably limited for the right reasons, into something it might or not be, He did the same with Schumacher.

Regardless, I wonder if it’s all gamesmanship on behalf of McLaren, wrong footing the opposition, the alternative is a worrying thought otherwise

Its the same year as mine, I reckon 96. doesn’t the frame number (stamped to one of the dropouts) include the year of manufacture?

The hardest part is tapping in the new insert into the cut hose.

this, I had a nightmare with one, at this point you cant just put it all back together again and take it to the LBS so I ended up with oil everywhere*. But a rebleed sorted it all out
