I wrote a nice long post, but its lost in the internet somewhere. So briefly:

I dont have a tripster but I do have a Pro 6.

I’ve sadly got no experience of the hydro brakes.

I’m running 34/50 on it, I expected the little ring to be too little and the big ring too big, but its fine and nicely useable.

The WTB 32mm tyres that came with the Pro 6 have been really good, but started suffering pinch punctures now, so looking for something wider and tougher, poss around 35mm. Poss Schwalbe CX Pro??

I would say that rear mech cable routing is much improved since they were around. cant imaging anyone is using them unless on an older model?

Sorry I appreciate this is not use to you at this time, but might help you smile. In my experience, if there is genuninely something to worry about with kids the whole thing is dealt with incredibly quickly. The fact they’ve sent you home is a real positive.

That said, I tend to use cheaper shorts for my commute as it’s fairly short. Check out the DHB range

I’ve noticed a couple of weasels on the South Downs lately. Normally pinning baby bunnies, vicious little animals.

Also lots of fairly large birds of prey, I think buzzards, they seem to be increasing in numbers.

When I saw the post title I really hoped it would be ‘that’ photo. I am not disappointed.

I love my CX bikes, but they aren’t as practical for hopping on and off when assisting kids with their riding etc
