Are you sure its not the chain slipping on the cassette?

I rode it a few weeks ago and made a couple of navigational errors but your welcome to get the route from my strava. I’ll send u an email this eve. No idea if I rode the classic, new or old route. Also we were diverted round the festival at Winchester so that’s a bit out too.

In the absence of anything else it will keep you on track

If a round 32 is more or less perfect I’d stick with that. 🙂

Do these oval rings work with shadow plus??

Perhaps she could claim off her home or travel insurance?

It’s been a while, but I think, when we had our survey done the survey included some insurance, such that if they missed any problems or issues, there was some cover. I didn’t look at the particulars of the cover, or more importantly the small print, but it might be worth going back to your surveyor to at least raise your concerns, particulary with the roof.

I was in Friston this eve and its got very wet all of a sudden, still great, but might not be ideal for 4-5hour ride.

The top (the SDW in effect) should be okay still, but I’ve not been up there so not entirely sure.

As said above, if you keep roughly to the SDW you’ll be okay. Dont be afraid to drop off the top, either North or South to explore, and maybe save an hour or so for Friston on your way back.

2*10 groupsets are much better value than a chain set only.I’d wait and upgrade the lot on one go.

Besides running a new chain set on an old chain could well damage the rings anyway.

Cod liver oil works when my knees start getting a bit clicky. I don’t use them on a long term basis.

Dont ignore the great advice offered up there. I’m sure you list of bullet points is great, but make sure you get representation and get the meeting rearranged if you werent notified.

I dont know the course this year but in previous years the course have been more “rooty and natural” sections with fire road piecing it all together.

How much paper work/proof of your agreement have you got?

If the paperwork is sound, go with small claims on line.

If you have no paperwork I’d give it up.

I predict GC changing crashes today. I reckon it’s going to be super fast with teams trying to capitalise on yesterday’s gains or trying to get some time back. Crashes might not happen on the cobbles but on the run in to the pave.

Take the wheel out the bike, remove cassette and feel if the free hub feels rough. The free hub doesn’t really do anything under load, it’s only when freewheeling the bearings are spinning.

Stripping the shimano rear hub is dead easy anyway so you have nothing to lose.

Although if you say there is a horrible noise from the bottom bracket it’s probably that?

Reading the thread title I was expecting to say CX bike, but if you were hoping to race on it i would get a proper road bike. Your MTB will do everything a CX bike would do,
