well then, I think you lot have just saved me several hundred quid in my ‘upgrade’ to hydro disks on my cross bike

I’d probably just use a standard crankset with one of these:

    well this is interesting.

I find BB5’s a faff to set up as cable tension is crucial, but performance is generally good.

    BB7’s are much better.

I don’t have any experience of drop bar hydraulics, but are BB7’s really better than the latest shimano hydro offering for commuting?

just checked, he’ll still ride the ominum. Team Pursuit was only ever an option and I thought an outside one at that

I thought he was there for the ominium, and possibly the Team Pursuit?

To survive that crash without life changing injuries isn’t a bad consolation prize

Fingers crossed the news stays good

Incredible race. Just hope the crash victim is ok, still feel cold from watching that.

Thanks all. I’ll stick with an extra layer at strategic points.

Great bike and really easy to swap to gears if you so wish. Just changed the dropout and zip tie a full length cable

It’s probably not the driver, he’s already lost his no claims. it’s more likely the insurance company trying it on to protect their position.

I’d follow the advice above and respond along the lines that you dispute their claim.

Thegeneralist. Apologies I’m sure it’s been done but if you change the power setting so the laptop doesnt shut down when you close the lid will this solve your problem?

Clearly that seller is hoping a potential buyer doesn’t read the description or look at all the pics

If the op goes through small claims he can claim interest though I suspect he would just be happy with his money back at this stage

From the page Brant posted it seems Planet X aren’t sure whether Mark Reilly hand builds the frames or not. It’s pretty misleading.

Hand built in triple butted 3Al/2.5V titanium the Meteor is the disc brake evolution of our celebrated Spitfire road bike. Titanium brings a touch of luxury to the humble bicycle, though there’s nothing humble about our new disc brake equipped Meteor. Hand built by Master Framebuilder Mark Reilly the agile and surefooted Meteor instills confidence in every turn.

And he kept using 7th anyway. Not worth the penalty.

Interestingly it sounds like telling him what engine and chassis settings he needed was allowable under the rules

If you intend to keep them, I wouldn’t post it on a public forum.

On this basis I reckon your options are limited.

But they aren’t offering a refund and history dictates they probably won’t. I’d keep it rather than gamble on the cost of postage and possible refund

Components aside the rebadged* stuff is good isn’t it? I’ve not heard of many problems with the original Exocet or the stealth before that

    *Probably the wrong word

Of course it’s pricey. How else could they discount it so heavily. As far as I am tell they are only computer generated pics, will be interesting to see how it looks in the flesh.

That’s a great deal. Watch the sizing though, specialized change the sizes in the last couple of years.

Gusset ext 24 gets recommended on here lots and cheap enough to take a punt.

I’ve done fairly well from shimano but went back to square taper on my bike that gets muddiest.

With out seeing it is hard to diagnose but my guess would be bearings in the freehub or the hub itself.

The leak of ticking suggests its probably the freehub

I cant help with the comparison as I haven’t seen the 5T but I do very much like my Pro 6. I rode and would have preferred the Tripster ATR as I think its a far more ’rounded’ bike but that’s another story all together.

Taken a punt at this price. thanks op

Nope but it’s blustery so will dry quick
Wind direction would be my major concern

Mine does this after I flush the toilet once the cistern fills up. I guess its loose pipes or something knocking when the pressure increases when the water turns off.

The grease you have already will be fine

    Confusing isn’t it!

You’ll need a 20mm front adaptor doesn’t matter whether evo or not.

I don’t know about rear bolt thru, won’t it work in a standard 135 frame? I’d be tempted to leave if so as you’ll need a new axle and end caps and they are tricky to source otherwise
